My friend has been to Brazil; when they were there, they asked to be taken to an authentic Brazilian steakhouse. They were taken to Fogo de Chao. With this in mind, I tagged along to their downtown location and was a happy camper. I have been to a few different steakhouses but this one delivers the quality it charges for. The salad bar was constantly full and everything offered was so fresh, which was impressive because the wide variety of items they offered was generous. The meat course was cooked just to my friend’s liking and the servers came around at reasonable rates(you know, so there wasn’t a leaning tower of lamb on your plate as you were being asked whether you wanted pork). This is definitely my favorite steakhouse to go to. My friend’s favorite offering was actually their chicken, and mine was a tie between their cured salmon and their mango salad.

I received a coupon $ 25 off on Facebook so we went here for dinner. It was super good. The steak much better than Estância Churrascaria. The servers come check on you often and they even ask what kind you like most so they bring more for you. We’ll become regular here.

Hosted an event for a group pf 30 people here. It was great for a party that large because they gave us our own private room and servers. The food was great and everyone left happy and full. Such a great place for bigger groups with big appetites. The staff was very accommodating and even offered to create custom menus with our company logo on them.

Went here for an early birthday dinner. Great food, great enviroment but most of all it was the best service I have ever had in a brazilian steakhouse. Best selection at the market table and every meat was fresh and came out right off yhe grill! I will be back for sure

What could be better than all you can eat STEAK, all cuts, with unlimited sides and salad… Had a great experience here and plan to go back… Loved the different cuts of meat and especially the lamb…

I have been to one other Brazilian Steakhouse before this one(Texas de Brazil) and I have to say, Fogo de Chão fell a little short of expectations. The meats were very disparate in quality. I expected a lot more flavor than what was presented in most cases, and many cuts were dry or chewy. The meats that were excellent, such as the picanha and the lamb chops, made it worthwhile enough, I suppose. The Parmesan pork was also tasty, but still kinda dry. It feels like there are«pitfall» choices of meats so you don’t get to fill up on the good stuff as much as you may like. But I think that is true of any churrascaria. I also expected the«market table» buffet to have just a little more variety to it, maybe another soup or two, more seafood tidbits, more cheeses. But that’s really not why you’d come here anyway, I imagine. The service was as nice as one would expect at this price point, but there was a snag about getting a soda we did not order off the tab(still no big deal, one should always check the bill anyway.) It almost feels silly asking them to remove a 3 dollar charge from a $ 200+ bill though, so that kinda makes it feel worse in some ways. And then it took a very long time to get the check back after that. It was good, but I don’t think I’ll be back for dinner. Lunch is a maybe. I just feel like, when it comes to filling a meat craving, I’d do much better going to a Texas bbq joint where the flavors are stronger and I can stuff myself with deliciously greasy tidbits in a more relaxed environment, for a lot less money too. When you’re here, you’re paying for an experience, and if you like to be pampered, you’ll probably get your money’s worth.

All super great, meats are awesome. Stick to picanha, fraudinha and beef ribs, my favorites. Don’t order espresso, it comes very cold due to the size size of the cup and not warming the cup before. Service is awesome! Staff super friendly.

Alright Fogo! Gave this place another try with a $ 25 off coupon. I was very pleased. I must’ve came on an off day the 1st time. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The steaks were juicier and much fresher! The beef ribs and bottom sirloin were my faves. We stayed here for 2.5 hrs over indulging in some seriously good beef! The black beans(feijoada) and rice were on point this go around. Big hunks of meat all throughout the beans. The mashed potatoes we’re delicious as well. The salad bar was not my main focus but did have a great Brussels sprouts salad and chicken salad that were exceptionally good! Service was great, our water stayed full, and we always had clean plates handed to us. Hubbie and I had each had coupons which stated they could be used at one table. We notified the 1st server he said ok. When the bill came the mgr said we couldn’t. I explained the waiter said we could and so does the coupon and she took care of it. Never say folks cause I’ll be back again and again!

We’ve been wanting to check this place out for a long time! It was amazing! The salad bar had high end fixings along with soup — today’s was butternut squash bisque. On the hot bar they also had rice and button mushrooms. Hint: go sparingly on the salad bar items. Also it’s the same food at lunch or dinner — but $ 20 less for lunch. Plus if you go for lunch it gives you all day to digest your meal! Once you have tried all the meats you want you can request the ones you like best. My favorites were the ribs, picanah, and the lamb chops. My husband also really liked the pork medallion. Don’t forgo trying the fried polenta and the cheese bread! They are both yummy! On your birthday they provide a complimentary dessert. Hubby had the turtle cheesecake for his Birthday but the prices seem a little high for desserts. $ 9 – 10 each. All and all we loved it. Great place for low carb dieters. We will be back!

Never having experienced CHURRASCO style dining, I was excited about trying this type of experience in the great City of Austin. I briefly looked at the street-side menu posted outside and made a reservation online for the following day. Arrived on time and was given one of those weird beeper thingies to wait for a table. Huh? Ok no super big deal, it was a gorgeous night in the city and I sat outside and gazed hungrily at the flaming display in the front window. Place was packed with a diverse crowd of people and i was excited to dig in to some awesome meat. After the brief description of the GREEN(I want more meat) and the RED(WHOA! I’m full) table ordering cardboard disc system, I headed up to the salad bar. Really not anything extraordinary and all I can recall was the most awesome sun dried tomatoes that I’ve had in years. Great flavor, texture and really a great tomato. My favorite was the Picanha which is a prime cut of top sirloin. Its encrusted with salt. This is probably what most people who complain about salty are probably referring to. I however am a fan of salt and i thought that it was amazing. Super tender, perfect crispy cook on the outside and that salt was an unbelievable flavor enhancer. In fact all of the beef offered was done to perfection. I also had the bacon wrapped chicken breast that was really moist and featured an incredible piece of bacon. The bacon was definitely not your average store bought variety. Super delicate smoke flavor and cooked perfectly. The pork sausage was nice and I elected to not try any lamb or the famous Parmesan crusted pork. I came here specifically to eat beef. It was hard to get the beef guys to stop back at the table. I noticed that the Parmesan pork man was the number one visitor to my table, along with the bacon wrapped chicken dude. That Parmesan pork guy was sent around like every minute. Now I must admit that the service was really good as multiple people came to the table to find out if everything was alright. In fact it was a dizzying amount of people about half a dozen different people. I sometimes felt as if I was at an Office Depot being attacked by those headset wearing spooky characters that jump out from around the corner. At one point i actually wondered«Who do I tip?» I was left feeling like I was forced to work too hard to eat a good meal. Maybe that’s what CHURRASCO is. Nevertheless spending $ 150.00 for dinner for 2 should involve an easier way of ensuring that more of that amazing beef finds its way to my plate. Way too loud, and way too casual of an atmosphere for spending that amount of cash. I thought about the families sitting around me. Their tabs must have simply been shocking! Maybe I’ll try this style of dining somewhere else in the future. I can’t wait to see Parmesan back where it belongs, on awesome Italian food!

I’ve been to a few Brazilian steakhouses, but this one blows the competition away. The food here was phenomenal. There is a nonstop service of waiters bringing out different cuts of steak, chicken, lamb, sausage and more! The hostess and managers were very involved with our dining, constantly checking in on us and making sure we got the type of food we wanted to come around again. The salad bar has different types of fish, salads, vegetables and more, A very good selection. They also bring plantains, potatoes and the Brazilian French fries to the table as a side dish. We had to turn the button red because my buddy and I wound up getting two plates each just to fit every different type of meat that came around. Overall a great facility, great staff and most importantly great food!

So not impressed. Maybe because we have been really spoiled by our experiences at Estância Churrascaria. The salad bars are pretty similar, although I had the feeling that there wasn’t quite as much on the Fogo De Chao one. I do have to give them credit for the hot items that they have by the salad bar. I wish Estância would do that. I thought the service was only fair. We sometimes waited(more than once), for over 10 minutes with our card on green for the meat to come to our table. More than once the guys just skipped our table. A lot of the meat was overcooked and dry. I asked two separate people for the filet mignon and finally got it about 10 minutes after asking the manager, when we were all pretty much done. It wasn’t terrible, but it’s certainly not up to Estância Churrascaria standards, and since it’s slightly more expensive, I really see no reason to return.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Fogo, but this location is by far the worst of the locations I’ve attended Small salad bar compared to what I’m used to at other fogos and chauma gaucha. Poor service when my boyfriend and I went for our one year anniversary, and it was really empty. There wasn’t a real problem with getting the meats but the waiter was not very engaged and did even ask us why we were here or anything. I think most waiters at these type of interactive restaurants are ya know… interactive? I think maybe I’m a little picky since I’ve had such great experiences at chauma gaucha, fogos, and really expensive restaurants in general, such as Ruth’s Chris or Uchiko. If I’m going to pay for a high end price tag, I expect high end service and especially on a light night. There were maybe 5 other tables filled… But…the meat is tasty, but maybe on the saltier side, and the sides are delicious. Carmelized plantains or whatever ftw!!! And you can never have enough of that cheesy bread! While this is great to impress, I guess. I would take bae somewhere else, but I get that Fogo has that great reputation. I just felt underwhelmed and won’t be back to this particular location!

We went here tonight for dinner, everything was great and service was top notch, an d the price is well worth it. We will definitely go back. the salad bar is good but you don’t go for the salad! You go for the meat. overall it was a great experience.

The food is good, but they charged us a ridiculous amount of money for water: $ 13. At that price, we could have gotten other drinks. The waitress told us that someone would be coming to pour us water, so we assumed that this water would be complimentary. I’ve eaten at many fancy restaurants and this is the first time we’ve been charged for normal water. The waitress did not tell us that the water would cost money either, it just showed up on the bill. Very disappointed.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. I thought the food and environment were alright, but nothing great. I felt like they had maybe two cuts of meat that were good. I got a lot of fatty pieces, so I had to discard most of what they gave me. The chicken was dry and overcooked. I wasn’t impressed with the salad bar either. The interior looks a bit dated too. I guess it’s not too bad considering it’s all the food you can eat, but the quality is mediocre. I think you’d do better going to a nice steakhouse.

This is definitely the spot in Austin to visit if you want to eat mass quantities of meat. Service was very attentive and frequent. I find the meat to be acceptable but on average trends towards too overly well done for my liking. The meat is brought at regular intervals but the servings were on the small sides at times. The food bar contains a decent selection of items if you want to expand your feasting beyond the carnivore realm. It is a bit on the pricey side at dinner and overall I think I would generally just prefer a nice steak but this place does have its moments when you are just in the mood for some debauched gluttony of meat.

My third visit left me with a sore attitude. I haven’t decided if I’ll go back yet. And, since that visit was about 4 months ago(and I’ve decided to write this), I guess I haven’t gotten over it yet. I will say that the food is great. Their salad buffet has a great variety, in and of itself, so that vegetarians and others with food allergies(e.g. my lady friend is on a strict gluten free diet) can still dine with gusto and leave satisfied. And, of course, the Churrasco options are exquisite. However, when you’re going to drop a decent dime on a nice meal, you want the service to be on par with the food experience. I’m hispanic. I own 4 businesses, but I don’t drive a Bentley or walk around in a suit. Before working for myself, I spent about 8 years waiting tables at various restaurants, so I know a little bit about how it works. The kind of treatment we received this night is how one would expect a couple of drama kings/queens with minimal training to act at Chili’s when they think someone is going to walk their ticket. I wouldn’t have been overly offended that they thought we might be a flight risk, but their lack of subtlety was without class. THAT is what offended me most. This third visit was my first time to go without my girlfriend(she’s not Hispanic), and was also my first time to not feel welcome. Instead, I thought I’d treat my big brother to something nice after returning from a 6 month deployment. We were neither dressed up fancily, nor did we show up in t-shirts and shorts. In other words, we didn’t look any different from most of the other people there who weren’t on an official date at a table for two. My brother and I showed up around 8:30pm to avoid the rush while not upsetting the kitchen by arriving just before close. It was a slow night, so as an ex-waiter, I noticed that our FIRST waitress was a little dismissive for not being pressed by lots of customers. No big deal. But, I know how stereotypes work in such an environment. She did not push the threshold of rude, so we accepted it, so long as she took care of our basic needs. While trying to stir up some small talk, and get her to loosen up, my brother asked about her accent. She said she was from Puerto Rico. So, there was maybe about 2 minutes where she smiled and engaged with us. I’ll give her that. Toward the end of the meal, I noticed a different waitress who kept sort of lingering around our table in her section. She was not subtle. She’d walk to her empty table, look over her shoulder at us, pace around a couple of steps, then wipe down her table for the 3rd or 4th time, while watching us. She’d then walk to the hostess stand(by the front door), and make stern eye contact with me before lingering there until the manager traded with her. Eventually, the manager came to our table. Yes, it is the manager’s job to check how everything was during one’s meal. But, unless I’ve experienced the wrong thing my whole life, the manager usually seems genuinely interested in your response(if not happy to be speaking with you). This one neither smiled, nor said anything to the effect of, «good», when I told him everything was great. He just sort of said, «oh…» while looking me up and down, then walking back to the hostess stand, where he did nothing much while we finished our meal. It wasn’t until we ordered dessert that our waitress decided to pawn us off on a more willing server. I wish I remembered the new server’s name, because she was our waitress during the previous visit, and she’s awesome(strawberry blonde, glasses, classy). I was happy to have her, and to finally receive welcoming treatment for the last few minutes of our visit. But, to be dropped by your server is not a sign of a business that offers consistent service. Moreover, in my experience, I knew that there was a 10% chance that our original waitress had an emergency, and 90% chance that she would rather leave early than to «gamble on the likes of us». At that point, the last 15 – 20 minutes of our dining experience were great. Our closing waitress’ attitude and service dimmed out the other circumstances lingering in the background. We finished our meal with ease, and I sincerely hope that she received the entire tip for her 15 minutes of great service.

A very unique dining experience. For $ 50 you get access to the salad bar and meat service. The salad bar is impressive and has quite the selection but I would recommend that bacon that is a sweet chili glaze. After you’ve convinced yourself your minuscule salad will justify the meal being healthy flip over your table card from red to green and a bunch of men carrying large skewers of meat will come flying over asking if you’d like a slice. There’s a bunch of things to choose from and they’re all quality meats but not like exceptionally good. I will say though that I love the house special Picanha, it is definitely the most flavorful and best tasting option in my opinion. Next time I’ll stick to that and the bottom sirloin(2nd favorite). What really gets my by suprise is the sides that come with your meal. The mashed potatoes, grilled plantains, and polenta fries are good but WOW the bread is amazing. It is filled with cheese that mixes in with the dough so perfectly giving you this warm, chewy, cheesy, soft bite of bread perfection. Seriously Picanha and the bread are the two best things at Fogo. Okay so now that’s over, service is trash. I always make reservations with OpenTable whenever I can and it always works well. With Fogo though, the reservations seem to never really matter? I’ve been twice to this location and had to wait 15 minutes with reservation which was ehhhh, kind of annoying. The second time though I had to wait 34 minutes to be seated with a reservation which really pisses me off because well I had reservation. The service while dining the second time also was bad, it took about 5 minutes for a person with meat to come by our table and as the meal progressed it took longer and longer, the worse being a 12 minute wait. The part that confused me is that I saw all these people walking around and it just seemed like they were ignoring us. Meh. I can’t really decide if I ever want to go back to Fogo because I like they’re food but I just hate everything else about them.

Amazingly awesome!!! My sister and I visiting from Killeen, TX went on a Saturday only to sadly find out no lunch on Saturdays. The manager Clauto offered us dinner for lunch price if we came back!!! We did and my son loved the food as seen in the video on Unilocal he’s just quite and savoring away!!! The experience was extremely appealing to our tastebuds!!!

Rebecca was our main waitress, she was fantastic. The food was amazing from the salad bar to the desert. The entire staff was very attentive and friendly. We love this place and will continue return. My grandson brought his special steak knife that was given to him by one of the managers. Most of the waiters and others stopped by to comment about what a special thing that was, to be given one of he special knives. We will return.

Well I’ll start with the positives. The filler/salad bar is amazing. A wide range of salads, fresh fruits, cheeses, salmon, veggies etc. beautifully laid out. Clean and neat. All very fresh and tasty. I love the location of the restaurant, it adds to the exclusive feel of it being posh. It’s very clean and well decorated. I had high expectations, it was my birthday and we had reservations for weeks. Now the reason for the 2 stars. Service. The restaurant was not crowded at all. It was 7:00 pm. A few days After the thanksgiving holiday. Our server seemed put out to have to be there. Like he lost a bet by getting our table or having to work. He even sighed a few times. The meat came in bursts. We would sit with our green showing for long periods without ever seeing anyone come. We had to ask for clean plates and things that are usually offered during service in a Brazilian steak house. I expected better treatment and a more enjoyable evening for the cost. When you have over a $ 300 check at the end of the evening but you leave feeling like this… Fogo falls flat for me for that reason. It was not a very happy birthday.

Our family has loved fogo for years. However the last few trips have been crappy. To their credit when I have a negative experience they offer a free meal or dessert. However I would rather just have the service/food I am paying for. Several times over the past couple of years service has been lacking. Whatever changes are being made at fogo… they are not for the better. They also changed the chairs and you cannot get to the salad bar without running into people serving food. Our last visit on 11÷13÷15, I brought two friends to celebrate their birthdays, and was so embarrassed by the service. We got sat by a large group of people that the staff focused on. They would rush by us ignoring our drinks and food. They would stop at the large group with meat first, I would ask them to please come back with fresh meat after freshly heating. They would say«Of course» and not come back. I stopped a lady with a trey full of bread intended for the large table and said«PLEASE leave us some of that bread, we have asked several times». Absurd. I left without being offered the house special, without eating my favorites. Since we couldn’t get it fresh without he large table picking it over… it just wasn’t good. So disappointing. I had to ask for drink refills each time for each lady at the table. They just wouldn’t come back with the drinks. We ordered dessert and coffee, it took 25 minutes and me asking 3 times for it. After our coffee arrived I said«unfortunately 25 minutes has gone by and we all need to leave. please just bring the ticket.» It took another 15 minutes to get our check and two different waiters. The last one took our desserts off because they arrived after we said never mind. Meanwhile the table next to us(about 15 people) ate, had dessert and drinks in a shorter amount of time than us 3 ladies could get our check.

I went to FDC thinking it was going to be really expensive– but it really isn’t that bad. For essentially $ 50 per person– you have access to the entire salad bar buffet and an endless supply of delicious meats. The only add-ons were deserts, shrimp cocktail, or Chilean Seabass. If you;re eating seafood at FDC– you probably should’ve picked another restaurant to visit. Docking one star because they were out of pork ribs. I tried just about all their steaks(filet, NY Trip, Ribeye) — and they were all cooked perfectly. The best meat I tried was the lamb chops. Service was on point. If you’re looking for a case of the meat sweats– this place is a good option.

Fogo is an all you can stomach(eat) Brazillian steakhouse. == Food == Various style meats that come out on pits. They’re sliced right at the table to your plate. There’s a large variety of meats ranging from chicken to various different cuts of beef. There wasn’t a meat that was not good. Everything was cooked very well. == Service == Service was excellent. The waitress is attentive and the waiters that come by with the meats know their stuff. Asked for medium rare and the waiter couldn’t cut a piece that was medium rare so he came back with a freshly cooked batch that was medium rare! == Overall == Delicious food for meat eaters. It’s on the expensive side so it’s a great place for a treat yo self dinner.

Wow, just wow! Thanks to Errol for another leading five star review that made me decide on this place. This is the second Brazillian Steakhouse that I’ve to, so I knew the basics of what to expect. Like… Be prepare to leave miserablely stuffed, because they’re not stingy with their food. I started with the salad bar. It’s not your ordinary salad bar either. Things like asparagus, mozzarella, and a bunch of other things that you don’t usually find on a salad bar. I’m not a huge meat eater, so my initial plan was to just get the salad bar. But the extra price to add the meat experience was under $ 10, so decided to go with the meat too. I’m glad I did. I would’ve been extremely jealous watching my husband eat all of the meat. You’re given a card with a green side and a red side. When it’s flipped on the green side, the meat servers(I don’t really know their technical name) know to stop by your table, show you which type of meat they’re offering and if you want that offering, grab your tongs and they’ll slice a slab into your plate. They didn’t really have many well done beef offerings. The slices that I did request well done, still had a bit of pink in it. Not a huge deal because I still found something that my heart desired. I’m still dreaming of the bacon wrapped chicken and parmesan crusted pork. My mouth is literally watering as I type this. I must stop. We had already started in on the meats when they brought the sides. The cheesy garlic potatoes were enough to write home about. I didn’t try the fried bananas or the cheese bread, but they both looked excellent. Overall, the price tag is steep, but keep in mind that the lunch rates are cheaper and if you’ve never experienced a Brazillian steakhouse, you’re depriving yourself.

Went here for the 1st time for hubbies bday and sadly I won’t be back. We were so hyped up and excited since the reviews were so good. The service is impeccable! Our glasses were never empty, the manger came by a few times, they gave a free bday dessert, the service is the only reason they get 2 stars. Now for the food… EVERYTHINGWASBLAND! I know steak isn’t supposed to be over seasoned but what was the excuse for the mashed potatoes? The beans? Jeezzz. I was expecting everything to be flavorful and top notch. I was wrong. I’ve had steak better than Fogo from Applebees! I will say they have down right delicious pork ribs, chicken thigh, and sausage! BUT I CAMEHERETOFEASTONSTEAK! What a disappointment! I tried lamb chops for the first time and it was good but nothing I’d go out of my way for. $ 50 per person $ 10 valet $ 9 whiskey coke NEVERAGAIN! The experience was lovely but the food was just not up to par.

All i can say is if you’re in a mood for a steakhouse and want to splurge go to Fogo de Chao because it’s worth it. Yes you pay what about $ 50 per person not including drinks, but it does include a salad and starch buffet which is a great spread. It has typical green vegetables and buttery button mushrooms with different salad items. The mean is fabulous and the best part of the dinner. The wait staff comes around to you and you take a piece of slice meat with tongs. You can get whatever piece you request. from Medium to rare it is the best! Service is excellent you feel like your money is going to classy all around restaurant. You feel special and important there and I like that. I would recommend this Fogo De Chao to anyone who wants to enjoy steak dinner Brazillan style.
