Nice sandwich shop with some scratch entrees, all delivering really good flavors. The wait in line can be off-putting, but if you’re patient, you’ll be rewarded with good, fresh, items treated with an upscale touch.

The food is good, drinks are ok, too much wind gusting in from their tiny patio. If you want to get seated quickly don’t come between 6 – 8 as there is usually a ridiculous wait and the restaurant is very uncomfortably crowded.

Love this place! Another strip mall gem. Our original visit was for dinner and all was delish — catfish was awesome. However, the real love comes for the brunch — I will officially say they make the best blueberry pancake I have ever had. We’ve been back once a weekend at least(leave me alone, I’m super pregnant and blueberry pancakes are a MUSTHAVE). The bayou breakfast is legit — 2 eggs how you like em, with any 3 sides and sides include PANCAKES. — shrimp and grits are just ok, the grits could be a little smoother/warmer. Both times we’ve ordered the grits, they havent been too impressive — breakfast potatoes could be cooked a tad longer and seasoned a tad more — eggs benedict are great — cajun has was also fantastic — oh and did i mention the pancakes?

We have been going here for almost five years and we love this place! It is great for any meal. Brunch is great on the weekends. The food is consistent and amazing and the service is always the best. We also get takeout from here and it never disappoints. I highly recommend this place.

This place is amazing. I highly recommend going during lunch time. The prices are fairly reasonable. I had the crawfish poboy and it was perfect. The bread was so fresh and they stacked the poboy with a ton of crawfish. The red beans and rice are the best.

This place is delicious. It is a neighborhood place where most of the customers are regulars. The really outstanding dish is an oyster Caesar Salad, but I have eaten just about everything here. It can get quite crowded on weekend evenings, but what is nice is it does not have«fake» food and the people are really nice. We usually drop by about every two weeks. Our favorite spot? Sitting up at the bar which is really good for people watching.

Cypress Grill is a gem here in Southwest Austin. Located in the strip mall next to Gold’s Gym, this amazing local cajun place serves quality food. I will venture here for lunch or dinner. It is a small place, but certainly is popular and fills up fast. They have a sun room area they can open up on nice days for outdoor seating. Cypress grill is serving a long list of cajun items, but they have many options. Great things to order are the blackened tilapia, seafood gumbo, muffuletta, po-boy sandwiches, catfish, shrimp and other items. Try the chicken tejano dish which is a grilled chicken breast with melted cheese and jalapeño strips on a bed of brown rice. I think the chicken tenders are quite awesome with the side order of honey mustard they serve. The pot roast dish is an excellent recipe they have with a side of mash potatoes and bread. You can get a good serving of chicken fried steak, rattlesnake pasta, or even a tasty burger. Dont forget all the great side items they serve and there rotating vegetable of the day. Cypress Grill has a fully stock bar for all sorts of great drinks. Sometimes on Thursdays they will have live music. They serve an excellent lunch special menu that is well priced. Weekends they offer a special brunch menu. Crawfish boils is every Tuesday and Saturday night when in season in the spring. Also if you like New Orleans style desserts, you should give this place a try. I have been going to Cypress Grill for a long time and all my peers have enjoyed it also. It certainly can get crowded at peak hours with its limited tables, but thats anything popular in Austin. Cypress is an excellent low key local spot serving fantastic food that anyone can enjoy.

Came for the crawfish. Delicious 3 lbs for $ 20. I wish it came with sausage but corn and potato was good. The waiter was a bit unattentive but everyone has an off day. We usually get the other waiter who is very nice. I’ll definitely be coming back. Always order the bourbon bread pudding!

Awesome brunch spot. Got the Bayou Breakfast — 2 eggs with 3 sides. Grits were cheddary and garlicky. Yum! Pancakes light and fluffy. Home fries could use a bit more seasoning, but still good. Hubby got the Cajun Hash. Licked the plate clean! Great brunch spot. Not too busy at 10:00 am. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I have tried all Cajun/Creole restaurants in ATX and this is as good as it gets. It is located in the same shopping center as Golds gym on W William Cannon across from Torchy’s Taco. The staff is extremely and helpful when it come to suggesting an entrée and give us plenty of time to look over the extensive menu. We start off with a bowl of seafood gumbo. The gumbo have a great kick and they are full of crabmeat and seafood. I am salivating just thinking about the gumbo right now. For entrée, I ordered the«Crawfish Delight» which is ½ étouffée and ½ fried crawfish tails served with white rice and french baguette. They were delicious!!! The portion was generous enough for 1 leftover meal. My husband got the«Stuffed Pork-chop» with rice and beans. The waiter said that it is the best pork-chop he have ever had in his life and HE’S NOTLYING! The pork-chop was stuffed with cheese and«crawfish étouffée» like mixture, it was DELICIOUS! They have a full stocked bar with drink specials for happy hours. Stop reading and head to Cypress Grill now!!!

Ordered food to go, three well done Salmom salads(were undercooked) $ 17.99 each, and an order of very average tasting, small portion, fries $ 2.99. Accidentally tipped $ 10.00 a little extravagant tip for a to go order, especially in light of the undisclosed $ 3.00 packaging fee. So disappointed to look at itemized receipt in the bag while cleaning up to discover a $ 3.00 packaging fee which they also charged sales tax on — a whopping $$ 74.99 for 3 salads and a small portion of fries!!! Feeling annoyed and ripped off-want a meal to go, order it in, have a waiter serve you, dirty dishes, take a bite, get a to go box and take it home. Make sure the salmon is cooked all of the way through first and don’t bother with the fries, they are a complete waste of money and calories. The one star is for the fresh tasting ingredients on the salad, and would prefer to give ½ a star, not available.

Sat on their outdoor patio and had a wonderful meal — definitely coming back for more(and added it to my list of nice places to bring visitors). PoBoy was delish and the crawfish eggrolls and gumbo were to die for. I plan on coming back for a brunch and trying that out! It is in a strip mall but don’t let that sway you — worth the visit!

I thought this would be a good seafood spot but I was wrong… Most of the items are fried. Now I like fried seafood and I’ve had a lot of seafood in my life and this place just didn’t cut it. It’s one of those places where I don’t completely hate it but I don’t really like it. It’s nothing special honestly.

Hit or miss for me! Decent food but nothing I would rave about. Cool place to hang out over off William Cannon where there are not many other options. Fair prices — good time — ok food! give em a try.

Cypress Grill: I want to try this place for dinner. We did a brunch here with friends and while it was good, it didn’t blow me away. I loves me some Cajun food but I didn’t find it at brunch. To me, the Creole Eggs Benedict was not terribly flavorful. Yes, I know the difference between Cajun and Creole food, but the dish, while good, wasn’t a lot different than a normal eggs benedict. The spicy Bloody Mary’s, on the other hand, were delish! And ML’s omelet with hollandaise sauce was very tasty too. Our friends got some bread pudding and some bourbon Pecan pie and both were very good. All this leads me to believe I have to give Cypress Grill another shot. We’ll be back for dinner, so don’t put up the cayenne pepper yet Cher!

Great Cajun food find, I would recommend making a reservation on the weekends, it gets crowded. There seemed to be a wait, but we got seated right away. There was music so it was nice as well, can get a little loud. But it was fun, the food is down home Cajun cooking. The boudin balls were delicious, I really enjoyed it. The muffalata was a lot of food for me. I really don’t like bread pudding but they really did it right there. The parking gets crowded since there is so much going on in that strip mall.

Rereading reviews, this must be a reasonable suburbian watering hole for quasi-old people. I did not, however, find it in that context. I had a craving for eggs benedict one morning. After an online search, I drove 20 minutes to Cypress Grill where I paid $ 15 for burnt coffee, a cheap grocery-store English muffin, a wee bit of ham, well hidden by two of the smallest eggs I have ever seen, and a dissapointing«creole» hollandaise sauce. I thought they were suspect as soon as they offered UHT creamer full of preservatives instead of cream. When I saw the food, I knew for sure. I ate everything on my plate but the undercooked bacon. The service was curt. The food was subpar. Still hungry and thoroughly disappointed, I went for second breakfast. You could do worse, but probably not for the money. Honestly, Taco Joint blows this place out of the water for less than 6 bucks. At around 15, there are some truly delicious breakfasts to be found in Austin. This is not one of them.

This is Austin strip mall dining at its finest. We dined here Sunday evening, on Father’s Day after their brunch, so in sure they were slammed earlier in the day. Even so, they were able to get us a seat right away in their patio room. The patio door was closed during our dining experience, but it was overcast, hot and muggy so that’s ok. The service here was decent. As I said earlier, they were probably slammed earlier in the day so they seemed a little light on staff. Our food took a little longer than average to come out. The food was definitely the best part of this place. I started with a cup of the seafood gumbo. Very fresh and full of flavor. I typically eat my gumbo a little spicier, but they have tobasco sauce on the table so you can flavor to your liking. For my Main entrée, I ordered the chicken tejado with dirty rice and mustard greens. The food was excellent. It tasted like a home made dish, and was not too greasy considering what I was eating. My girlfriend got the fried catfish and it was amazing. I will probably order this the next time I done here! Overall it was a good experience and the food was excellent for a low to mid price ranges dining experience. I would recommend cypress grill, and I would done here again!

First our waitress was funny, attentive, friendly and just made us feel right at home. Great atmosphere and experience. Secondly, all of our food and desserts were cooked to order and all tasted amazingly authentic. Being from Louisiana, there are few to none, places i would eat at. Their recipes are on point. We had so much. Wine, seafood gumbo, sampler appetizer, bbq shrimp, dirty rice, okra, potatoes, trout dish, chicken dish, crawfish ettoufee, bourbon chocolate pecan pie, bread pudding. I think we ordered everything we could. This is a must try eatery for my homies. The prices were very reasonable. My only complaint, i live in north austin and they are located in south austin, but that drive is much closer than driving home to Louisiana, so i really have no complaint.
