Super yum. I got the bolognese pasta and my buddy got a pizza with half prosciutto and half bacon something. Wine was tasty. The atmosphere is pretty good, with big mirrors and high ceilings. Service is quality, like you would expect. Parking is usually available, but the spots are pretty small. I hate when parking lots are like that, especially in Texas, land of trucks. Aside from risking a ding in my baby(a non-SUV car) this place is aces.

I came here for New Year’s eve dinner. At first I was dismayed at the lack of choices for the prix — fixe menu(as it was a holiday), but the food was SO good and wines perfectly paired. I had the mushroom risotto, farm salad, and shared green beans and brussels sprouts with bacon, as well as beignettes for dessert. The food was piping hot, fast, and the flavors were excellent. I would return in a heartbeat!

A comfortable restaurant with a contemporary/classic mix. Greeted immediately as you enter the establishment and was seated immediately. Ordered the sausage pizza. Delivered timely and it was hot. The pizza has the New York style crust and flavor tinged with Italian flair. Our waitress Brooke was attentive and spot on in customer service. The lighting during the evening meal made for a relaxing and fun filled time. The food and atmosphere are worth going to for a romantic or relaxing night out. When I return to Austin again I will visit for another meal.

Cipollina is a trendy, intimate Italian restaurant in Austin that is willing to make just about any dish on the menu vegetarian. It has a great environment, but it misses the mark just a tad on taste. I went with a group of eight friends for dinner on a Friday night. I ordered the caprese salad out of pure fear that I would leave the restaurant hungry if I stuck to just my entrée: the tagliatelle con funghi, or in the vernacular, hand-made pasta in some white sauce with a couple mushrooms. Fortunately, Cipollina offered the right portion size when it came down to the pasta, which became critical to the night’s later goal of consuming as much alcohol as possible without getting sick. The caprese salad had excellent mozzarella and a nice basil, olive oil touch. The tomatoes were not on the same level, but when I’m eating blocks of mozzarella, I’m not letting some average tomato get me down. The pasta was quite tasty. The sauce had a great flavor, but was a bit watery. More on that later. The mushrooms were savory, and eating each mushroom reminded of how foolish a younger Chris was to have dissed mushrooms as a lesser food. If I had to pick where Cipollina missed the mark, I’d have to say the noodles were not cooked as well as I expected. They were kind of saturated with water, which leads me to think they were overcooked, hence why the sauce was of thinner consistency. Of course, at this dinner, we ordered bottles of wine and were enjoying ourselves. This restaurant really lends itself to such an outcome. If I were in Austin again, I’d probably try to find a different Italian restaurant simply because I enjoy new food, but wouldn’t be opposed to coming back and having a jolly time at Cipollina.

Really enjoyed this place! Went with a group of girls and enjoyed prompt and friendly service. I split a pizza – can’t remember the name but it had mushrooms and caramelized onions and was delicious! Cute atmosphere too. Will be back to check out more on the menu!

My lunch at Cipollina was just fine — it’s a cute spot that happened to be blocks away from my next appointment. We arrived near noon to a mostly empty restaurant, but by the time we left they were pretty full. The menu has a good selection of wood fired pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and salads. I went on the lighter side and had an order of the white bean dip which was served with«crostini and fresh vegetables». The dip was delicious but the only veg served with was broccoli which seemed a little odd. I would have liked a bit more variety, but not a big deal. The person I was with picked a special«chopped salad» — what arrived wasn’t in any way«chopped». There were large pieces of romaine(like in a Caesar salad), big chunks of cheese and large slices of salami. For $ 17, not really impressed. Service was fine — food came quickly and drinks were refilled promptly.

We used to go there time to time, but stayed away after mediocre meals several times. Sadly, the«new» menu with its decidedly Italian skew disappointed our party this week with three-out-of-three bad dishes. The SPAGHETTIBORDELLO was drowning in an imbalanced sauce with far too many capers. The PAPPARDELLEALLABOLOGNESE was tasteless. The MARGARITAPIZZA, although made with very good ingredients, had a soaked interior and fell apart. Service was very good and ambiance is nice, but sorry to say they lose badly on food quality.

I was disappointed today. I didn’t tell my server. I have been here a handful of times, prior. I haven’t been in for about 9 months. I assumed it would be great. My husband started with a Kale Salad. He mentioned after eating it to the server it was Salty. I had the Kale Salad for lunch. My husband had the chicken. He took a bite of his and told me it to was very salty. I tasted my Kale Salad and it was so Salty and a very strong Lemon flavor I forced it down. The shrimp I had on the salad were great. So I ate some Kale and all the shrimp. I didn’t tell the Server, my bad! My husband and I usually do not have time for lunch together so I tried to enjoy. I just do not know what happened? I use to love this place when I got to go. I was really surprised by the change in the flavors. Same menu, but so so different. I am disappointed.

The service was average but that was better than either one of the dishes. We enjoy the atmosphere at this neighborhood bistro, but they really have moved their food too far from spicy as it was downright bland. The cioppino was full of seafood but little flavor and the bolognese lacked fennel seed, salt, garlic or even pepper. Disappointing.

I really like this place. My hubby and I have been here often. It’s the only place we have found in Austin that makes a Gluten-free pasta in-house. It is extrememly good. The sauces and sandwiches are definitely on point. The place inside is a nice open Europe style café with a long bar that overlooks the chefs. Generally easy to get in and out of for lunch or dinner. Parking is decent depending on the time of day. Outside space is very limited. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, but this is a very nice option for something not too fussy or expensive.

Started out great, but got rudely shushed by a random waitress. When we talked to the manager(Zach) about her less than tactful delivery, he was even more rude. Couldn’t even fake an apology. Restaurants are for food, drinks, and fun conversation. Wrong place if you’re going for a good time.

Great atmosphere. Could have used some soft music in the background. Food was very decent, with small portions. $ 15 cork fee is pretty standard.

**Attention** If you’ve been here in the last several years & were dissatisfied with the food & pricing, it’s time come back! They’ve got a new chef & an updated menu. The food is actually very good now & a tremendous value. I live 2 blocks away & avoided this place for years after a handful of disappointing meals. I’ve been there twice in the last 10 days! Thank you to whomever made the difficult decision to make these needed changes! Items I’ve had so far & were all good: Margarita pizza, chicken ravioli, sausage pizza, kale salad, all the ice cream, crème brûlée, calamari

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Good selection wonderful trout. Wilted spinach and good wine selection. Almost NYC atmosphere and charm. Wait staff are very attentive but not overly. Great tiramisu A little noisy but it also gives a level of privacy to your conversation

When we’ve had a crazy day at work, we head to Cipollina for the prosciutto pizza, a mixed green salad, some Mont Laur, and a hug from our favorite waiter, Horacio. perfect.

For years, I swooned over the prosciutto pizza with truffle oil. Sadly, they stopped using the truffle oil, and now it’s just a tasty prosciutto pizza, no longer a must-eat indulgence that could convince me to stay in the neighborhood The rest of the menu is good on average, but without the truffle oil, I just don’t go back as often as I used to, considering I could hit it with a rock from my sofa. It’s a cute place for an enjoyable-but-affordable first date, and the service is usually quite good. Classy ambiance

I have been coming here since its opening and have seen it change owner/mgmt but the quality never changes. I don’t think I come here enough. I really enjoy their salads, mussels and pizza pies. The mussels are my favourite in town. Capers and onions make an impression with these mussels. In fact I keep the mussel’s light broth to dip the last part of my pizza crusts in. The staff is excellent. Always has been for me. They correct my mistakes. Thank you cipollina.

My husband and I made reservation via Open Table. Service was so so. The guy that filled our water was on top of his job. We started with Caprese Salad and the mussels. Both were good. I wished I would have stopped there. When they showed up my husband ask about his beer that still had not arrived. Entres were the Bistecca and the Pork Saltimbocca. I thought my pork was a bit dry. My husband enjoyed his Bistecca. We will probably be back but stick to the pizzas. We are just eating less carbs these day.

Excited to try this cute neighborhood restaurant and what a better night than Halloween? When we arrived there were only 2 tables taken inside. We we’re quickly greeted and made our menu selections. We decided to share the Caprese salad and an entrée. The Caprese looked nice but the tomatoes were lacking flavor and the mozzarella was dry. The brick oven pizza we ordered came out shortly there after and was good but it was nothing to rave about. While the ambiance is lovely at Cipollina, the food was middle of the road. I want to love this place so I will return and post an update!
