Their fried catfish as well as the grill is always spot on! One of my favorite places to go to for fried catfish!!!

Fun, great catfish and live music on a Friday underneath a big olé oak! Sweet! The shrimp was my favorite – big, butterfly and yummy! We will definitely be back! Patio is dog friendly which is a plus!

The people who run this place are really rude and based on their behavior over the years, complete nut jobs. But the food is good…

Terrible waiters and waitresses. Maybe they were having a bad day at work. My family and I wanted to leave right from the get-go but stupidly decided to stick around. It was a mistake. Most horrible restaurant experience here in Austin! Please train waiters and waitresses, whether your staff is waiting on the assigned table or just eating their meals at a table next to customers and gawking around at customers, regardless, to serve customers in a courteous manner. Food was nondescript.

My husband and I love the catfish. He tried the gumbo and really loved it. The server, Autumn, was very helpful, friendly and courteous. She was very attentive always making sure we had what we wanted or needed. We would recommend Cherry Creek Catfish.

Great place for fish on a budget. Delicious fishness. Also a great place to get fat as hell in a hurry. Deep fried, butter sauteed, ranch & tartar dipped, carby madness is all over the menu. But i’ll tell you what, correct frying techniques and butter sauteed fish that isn’t overcooked is always welcome to my taste buds unless i’m already full. The name tells you what you’re getting and the place delivers on its name. Excellent value, i’ve paid $ 30 a plate for fish that doesn’t even come close.

Went to cherry Creek catfish for lunch on Friday. We were greeted and seated fast and friendly. First timers they had great suggestions the corn fritters were very good .the wife had grilled and I had the fried catfish both excellent. The coleslaw with pineapple was very good. The pinto beans very good. Daniel recommend the house made chocolate pie the star of lunch.

Just came in and there was barley anyone around(customers) waited at the front and met eyes with many members of this lazy staff and was ignored– when someone did come and seat me it was a rude encounter. I asked for a blue moon and was never waited on again or brought my drink. I was sitting there for 15 mins. My waitress was also the rude young girl that sat me at my table. She seemed to be more interested in her phone and the bus boys than her job.

I friggin love this place. Since moving to Austin, this has been my favorite place to go to other than whataburger(lol). We always get seated fast and the service is good. Nothing fancy about this place or hipster like, just good food. The catfish is so tasty! It is fried just right, good batter, and never of poor quality. I think the chicken fried steak is my fav though. The outside never falls apart. And the portions are huge! I can never finish! It has a nice little deal in the local paper for a coupon of buy one enter get the other free. Just can’t use it on Fridays.

Cherry Creek is deep-fried and delicious. It is far heavier than 99.9% of what I eat, and that’s okay with me. The corn nuggets with ranch dressing are incredibly rich. You will leave fuller than you thought possible. It’s a true family restaurant, so bring the kids!

5 stars for the Catfish only. It was pretty tasty and wasn’t too oily. The salad and gumbo needs improvement. Also, they have live music when we went on Saturday night.

Checked out this on a Saturday evening. Great establishment and clean. Staff was very nice and attentive. We had the following meals of blackened catfish, breaded shrimps, fried pickles, chicken fried steak. All delicious and on point. They do half and half appetizers of you like which is great! Have a craving for fried foods at a great price come here! We’d definitely come back!

A-OK, but nothing spectacular. Coming here, you’re getting a plate full of fried seafood and leave stuffed, questioning if all that grease was really worth it and in need of a long nap to digest. I’ve heard about this place forever, so stopped in the other night and ordered the fish and shrimp dinner. Best of both worlds, right? 1. Fried Shrimp — This was the best tasting item on the plate. Large shrimp, good batter, decent flavor. 2. Fried Catfish — Their namesake, but not my favorite. The breading is thick without much seasoning, bulking up thin fillets . 3. The sides — Coleslaw is heavy on the mayo; mashed potatoes are standard fare; pinto beans ain’t my bag; hush puppies were disappointing as they were pretty dense and close to overcooked. In the plus column, the service was very attentive and quick. Overall, I wasn’t super impressed. If I’m going all-in for a tasty, calorie-heavy dinner, throwing my diet to wind, I want to leave fat and happy. Instead, I left smelling of grease and questioning why I didn’t go for pizza instead.

Been on my «to try» list for years. Finally I did it. We were actually headed for Gus’ to fill up on some delicious fried chicken before heading over to Cirque Du Soleil’s Kooza, but, you know how parking can be. We decided to come here. We walked in and stood like deer in the head lights while we waited for the hostess to seat us. Once we were seated we had time to actually memorize the menu. It got to the point that when another customer walked past our table, I asked him to bring us some water. He laughed and actually did! Yes. Service was sloooooooooow. They had some good«old country» aka honky tonk playing so that made waiting more enjoyable. When the waiter finally arrived for drinks we were like«hey man, we’re ready to order». No lunch deals on the menu. That was disappointing. We asked if they had a catfish basket deal and yes was the answer. Four fillets with fries. I got mine sub fries for corn nuggets. The catfish was just ok for me. Nothing special. Nothing I would drive out of my way for. The batter was a bit rubbery and lacked of spice. Tabasco really helped this out. The corn nuggets were also good, but, after the third one I was like ugh. Something about creamed corn. I would definitely eat here again, but, not go out of my way to do so. IMO Paw-Paws in Bastrop has the best catfish you’re gonna find around these parts. And it is worth the drive.

When you live down south and don’t feel like making a trip up to Quality Seafood or Papadeaux’s, Cherry Creek Catfish is the place to go for some fish dishes. I love fried catfish and this place is good at it. I’d definitely put it below the quality of the other aforementioned restaurants, but the price is hard to beat. Every meal here is around $ 10. It will come with way too much food and you’ll basically have a second meal to go. Inside reminds me of Louisiana. There’s tons of stuff on the wall and it looks like you’re not too far from a bayou. The water here is also pretty great. They’ll put a lemon in it for you and you get a 32ish ounce glass!

So my wife and I were looking for an affordable seafood place and so we were suggested to try a catfish parlor of sorts. Stumbling through Unilocal, eventually I found this place, a neat little restaurant in the corner of a strip mall, a hidden gem out of the way. The interior is what I’d imagine an Austin catfish parlor to look like whatever that means. Food wise, it’s good. Clean fresh seafood and really good potato sides. I got a half catfish, half oyster poboy(its the same price to split!) and the potato chips — wife got the big combo plate with the ribs, shrimp, catfish, cole slaw and green beans. I really liked the oyster sandwich — good crusty bread, creamy oysters, all fried to perfection. For the catfish sandwich, you’ll need to use a bit of the tartar sauce on the side to help it go down, but its really good. The chips are homemade — they’re stellar and full heartily recommend it. Hushpuppies here are really good as well: not dense, crisp. Actually all the fried stuff here has no trace of grease — big win considering how often that is a problem with catfish/seafood. Stick with just the catfish and oysters though. Shrimp is a bit too bready and the ribs are not that tender. Cole slaw and beans were meh. But everything else is big thumbs up :)

What a great place to eat chicken fried steak it was tender, moist, and there there was plenty. The staff was quick and the food came out quick. The green beans flavored woth bacon. The Shrimp was fresh and the salad as well.
