Do not go here. Your clothes will be ruined and you will be treated with zero customer service. I went to the East Cesar Chavez location recently as my company moved offices to the east side and I thought Cathy’s could be my new go-to dry cleaners. Little did I know… When I arrived to drop my clothes off the woman barely spoke to me, didn’t greet me at all and made me feel like she was doing me a favor. When I came back to pick up my clothes I noticed I was charged an absurd price of $ 18.95 for a short, simple dress. Past places Ive been have charged me $ 6 – 7 for a similar type of dress. I pointed this out to the man and had to beg and fight for him to lower the price to a more reasonable level. After much ado he finally admitted the price was an error and took it down to $ 9.95– still a very high price– but I was tired of begging. Long story short when I got home I noticed the dress I had taken in(brand new and only worn once in my life) had a massive hole in it. Immediately, I called Cathy’s and asked for a manager who was apparently out all day and unreachable. I then drove to Cathy’s and explained the hole in my dress, the man immediately shook his head no and told me that was not their problem. He refused to accept the damage he and his team had done to my expensive dress, offered no customer service, no apology, no reimbursement and no refund. His only explanation was that it was a manufacturing issue done by the dress company(an expensive, high quality dress company that is) and it was the company’s fault. I told him I was disappointed with the lack of customer service and since he offered me nothing for the damage I was going to let other customers know my experience on Unilocal so it didn’t happen to them. He then blackmailed me and said he would give me my $ 9.95 refund if I didn’t post my experience to Unilocal or anywhere. The fact he blackmailed me was infuriating and ludicrous. I will never return and I hope no one wastes their time with this place. They are beyond rude, exert zero customer service and RUIN, DAMAGE, DESTROY your clothes.

My wedding dress was completely ruined. Why did I not read the other reviews?! I took my dress here to be cleaned. And to elaborate on the service asked for — 1 inch of the hem was dirty on an otherwise spotless dress that I wore for 3 hours. It has come back 2 colors, a light blue up to the waist where it was clearly dipped in some kind of detergent. WHY was the dress not spot tested first? I’m so heartbroken and frustrated that no compensation was offered aside from crediting the cost of the cleaning(duh!) Please do NOT go here with your important garments. Please, please, please spare yourself the pain and heartache.

Review is from March 2015. Was previously posted on the wrong Dry Cleaners page. 2 stars because my clothes were cleaned well. Service and pricing was a complete failure. They failed to follow the simple instructions. When I dropped my shirts off I asked that the collars be pressed down because they not worn with a tie, keeping existing creases. They put bright tags on them with the instructions. But apparently nobody paid attention to them, they were all wrong. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called it a fluke. I went back a second time, because I live so close and really wanted this to be my go-to place, as they have decent prices, and the clothes were well cleaned. I have weekly dry cleaning and really wanted to be a regular customer. I explained the issue from the first time and re-explained how I needed these to be. The SAMETHING happened. There must be a breakdown in communication from front of house and the cleaners, because the girl I dropped it off to seemed to understand my request. These were uniforms which have to be worn a certain way. I needed to take home and redo all the creases. …and for some reason the 2nd time I went I was charged something like 25% more. inconsistent.

The worst people I’ve ever met work here. I told them I live in neighborhood and would be a weekly customer and could we work a deal. No. They barely let me use the coupon on my phone. I decided to let them clean what I had brought in anyways. Had a pickup tix that said something like $ 44.00. Give tix and was asked to pay a different amount. What why? Oh the jacket you gave us is a long jacket not a short one. $ 10 more than you quoted and a horrible additude. F U. You lost out on $ 40 a week from us. I hope you go out of business very quickly.

Please listen to me and other customers: do not trust your laundry with this cleaning establishment. After years of being a passive Unilocal user I’ve finally had a devastating enough experience to leave a negative review :( I took my beautiful, brand-new Anthropologie comforter to be dry cleaned here. I had used it for one month, and the tag said«Dry Clean Only.» I paid $ 31 dollars to have it dry cleaned here(Cathy’s location on the east side). When I picked it up, I found that it had been destroyed. It was nubby, no longer fluffy(all the foam inside was broken up into hard little nibs, and the fabric now hung loose throughout.) On top of that, it smelled bad! Sour-ish…definitely not like I had just paid 30 bucks to have it professionally cleaned. I was so sad and drove back to talk to the clerk. She was so unhelpful I can’t even begin to describe my frustration. I asked if it had been accidentally washed and dried normally(which is my hunch, seeing how the fabric came out feeling and smelling slightly torched). She said that dry cleaning is «the same thing» as washing and drying. That it’s essentially the same process anyway. … ?? She couldn’t help me and couldn’t refer me to a manager. «We don’t have a manager» was her only response to that question. I found the owner’s e-mail online and sent him a message explaining the situation and asking for help. He called me about 4 days later and told me that it was a manufacturing problem. They could not help at all. He at least offered to try fluffing it for me. When I picked it up, I asked the clerk if it had been fluffed, at least. She said«no.» My story ends on a happy note: Anthropologie has excellent customer service and has offered to replace my comforter for free! I do not recommend taking your nice things to this place. I’ve never experienced having a very expensive item destroyed by a Dry Cleaner’s, but it’s profoundly frustrating and disappointing.

Avoid this place. #1 problem — they loaded up a shirt with starch — no other shirts had starch and I’ve never requested starch; it took them 3 attempts and a month to get the shirt back to even close to normal. #2 problem — they lost a shirt; then claimed they might have counted wrong at first, which they claimed would explain the missing shirt — that was not the case; after me pushing them, they eventually found the shirt a couple months later. They didn’t call back when they said they would multiple times while trying to resolve these issues. Low quality service.
