Catena and Company

I love this place and all the women give me a big genuine hug when I arrive and make me
feel like the most special girl on the earth. They are beautiful godly women and have been
serving men and women for decades. Im always amazed at their energy and creativity!
If you don’t won’t to look fabulous and trending or be loved on with great compassion, don’t
go to this salon, cause they’re all about loving people.

So it had been at least a year and half since I had my hair cut. When I moved away from my hometown 4 years ago that meant that I also left my Aunt who had been cutting my hair my whole life.
I thought and stressed a bit about where to go in Austin to get this done for about 2 months. From what I had looked at I could tell the prices are a little more in Austin than some other places. I asked around to friends and got a few recommendations.
Then I found out that there was a salon across the street from my job and a co-​workers mother owned the salon. I all of sudden felt some sort of connection to the salon. Now it wasn’t the same as my connection to my Aunt, but somehow it made me feel OK or even better knowing that I had some sort of link to the salon.
I then decided to schedule my appointment through their website … it was super easy! I would rather schedule appointments online than call any day.
About a week later I showed up that afternoon for my appointment with Mary Ann. I was greeted by the girl at the front counter and she knew it was my first time visiting and offered to take me on a tour of the salon. This was an unexpected and a nice gesture. I was a bit early and Mary Ann was still with a client so the front desk attendant offered me a beverage. I sat on the couch and looked at the wall of accessories that they also had for sale. I immediately fell in love with a beautiful necklace I knew I knew was going to have to leave with.
Before I knew it Mary Ann approached me and I sat down in her chair. I immediately felt comfortable. We talked for a bit about my hair what I was looking for and my plans. I then headed over to the shampoo bowl where Paula (I think that is her name) shampooed and conditioned my hair. She did an awesome job and I was impressed with her skills! I went back to Mary Ann’s chair and she went at it! After everything was done I cute 4 inches off and I was pleased. Mary Ann did an awesome job! I am glad I went with my choice. I have fine, thin hair and Mary Ann cut it when it was wet first, then after it was dried she was very meticulous to ensure there no wild hairs she had missed or decided to do something of their own … because my hair will do that. I appreciated the time she took!
If you are looking for a salon in Austin or South Austin I would definitely recommend checking out Catena & Co. Mary Ann is awesome! I found out that my boss also used this salon and Suzanne has been cutting her hair for years. So you probably will not go wrong with any stylist you decide to go with.

I visited Catena this weekend as I was part of a wedding party getting their hair done for the big event. With that said, I was very impressed!
The people were fantastic and so attentive to all of us. They really listened to what we wanted done with our hair and made it happen.
They also set up a table of mimosas for us to sip on and the atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable for the entire group!

I highly recommend Catena & Company. If you’re hair isn’t looking wonderful, nothing else will either! Suzanne is my hairstylist, Suzanne gives me the foundation, and I do the rest to make me feel beautiful. Call & set up a appointment, with any of the professionals at Catena & Company and start feeling beautiful too!
