I hate that Unilocal forces you to give a courtesy star. This particular Carl’s Jr deserves a zero rating. I’ve tried this place on four occasions, each time keeping an open mind and giving them the benefit of the doubt. But no. This horrid place needs to go. It takes 25 minutes every time in the drive thru, even when there are no other customers in the drive or visible inside. They run out of ingredients(like beans) to make anything off the Green Burrito side of the menu. Their fries are cold and stale. Tear this place down and build something useful, like a Coconut Records or another Taco Bell. The defense rests.

Inconsistent customer service. We walked in and the manager said«welcome to Carl’s» in a bored voice. Then we looking over the menu and she commented on my jacket which was nice. We ended up working up a nice conversation an then, oddly enough she began to tell me how the burgers change all the time and how the company doesn’t know how to manage their money. Eeeek. A little uncomfortable seeing as how we were eating there. She was nice but a little training on professionalism in the work place might be needed. The burger was great but everything else was blah(fries, jalapeños poppers, quesadilla.)

Just stopped by here, waited for 7 minutes(there was no one to be seen). Suddenly, a disaffected woman appears from some hidden corner in the back, walks up to the opposite side of the counter ahead of us, makes eye contact– and without a word, turns around and heads back to the abyss of the kitchen. No stars for the food and service. But definitely a star for her well earned paycheck!

The cashier made a minor error while ringing me up and because of the minor mistake the shift leader called his manager and they refunded me my money and gave me the meal for free. This went above and beyond my expectations and I will absolutely be giving Carls more of my business. Well done!

Tara the asst manager is so rude I honestly don’t know how she still has a job here. Several occasions I have gone and she is unbelievably rude to her employees in front of customers and rude to customers also. I have called corporate on her and she gave me a fake name Kimberly and the was an area manager. I try and go to this location when she isn’t there.

Seeing the El Diablo ad… I was very tempted. Never tried Carl’s Jr before, but I must say… the burger is pretty good. If I do come back here I will try the Swiss mushroom burger. The El Diablo lacks the lettuce tomato and pickle that I usually like in my burger. The jalapeño poppers are quite good in there… gives each bite a cheesy burst. The pickled jalapeño gave it a Lil bit of a spice… but not as much heat as the small yellow peppers at the salsa bar. A little advice: ADDSOMEYELLOWPEPPERS to give it a Lil more heat befitting it’s name… El Diablo.

Moving from California I was happy to see there was a Carl’s jr near my apartment. I visited twice and both were not quite as satisfying. They messed up my order and both visits i had to wait for my food for sometime. there wasn’t any customers inside and I was the first one at the drive thru. come on now

Well I was happy to see that they have a Carl’s Jr right here in Austin. I thought it was an Arizona thing. So I got my favorite Southwest chicken sandwich wrapped in lettuce. A little disappointed chicken was bland and dry it wasn’t as great as Arizona. They also said it came with American cheese when I’ve only ever seen it with Swiss so I had to switch that out. My coworker also got a chicken sandwich on what is she ordered the club sandwich was dry as well. The whole dining experience wouldn’t have been so bad if we didn’t have a tribe of Hispanic children running around the restaurant in being loud while the mother just SAT there and thought it was cute. The staff was nice and friendly. Tara was pleasant and did apologize that they were short staffed.

Come on. Get your act together. The drive through shouldn’t take 25 minutes. Get me out of here.

Soggy burgers, rude employees, long wait times for no reason, overlooked onion rings. There isn’t one thing this place did right. Don’t waste your time or money.

Been reading the crappy reviews here about this place. Dude it’s Carl’s Jr! Don’t expect 5 star dining. Considering this is the only one left in Austin either love or leave it. I personally think this is one the best fast food places around. Destroys McDonald’s, Whateverburger, and Burger King any day.

Worst Carls. Jr. Ever. They just opened in the early morning but they never have anything plus the customer service sucks. Go to the next Burger King on Manchaca

I love Carl’s’ Jr. Being a Cali native, I was excited to see that they finally brought these to Texas. Now I can enjoy a taste of home here in Austin in between my Whataburger!

The worst experience ever! I ordered a grilled fish, when i finally got home and sit down to eat OMG! The fish was so burnt that I couldn’t tell if it was chicken or fish. The service: horrible! The food disgusting. Don’t waist your time and money!

We showed up about 20 minutes before the dining area closed, but it didn’t effect the service any. The food was still good and the service was friendly.

Phenomenal fast food burgers and friendly service. However, quite possibly the slowest, most disorganized ordering I’ve ever experienced at a fast food place. Both cashiers at the front registers were taking both drive-through and eat-in orders simultaneously. It led to a huge line and almost caused me to walk out. However, the Six Dollar Western Bacon Cheeseburger makes it all worthwhile.

I walked in this one a while back for a to go order. The employees were in the back arguing about whose turn it was to be at the register for a few minutes before one of them begrudgingly walked up and took my order. I even showered that day, so I thought it was pretty shitty. We went through the drive thru on Xmas Eve. They left us hanging and simply stopped working because they had reached closing time, even though we had waited patiently in line at least 10 minutes prior to closing. No Hey, we’re actually closed, really sorry! This would have been disappointing still but at least professional. Instead, they just disappeared. I had my heart set on a double western bacon cheeseburger. They broke my heart. I like Carl’s Jr., just not this one. Never going back. Ever ever forever.

Honestly, would it kill people to have common courtesy these days? I can understand you don’t want to work on Christmas Eve, you probably want to be with your family, but like everyone else who works, and needs their paycheck you do what you have to and shouldn’t half-ass it either. We have always had beef with this Carl’s Jr.‘s customer service, it’s always poor – plain and simple. This occasion: there was three vehicles ahead of us for which they served on Christmas Eve, and we got in the line at 9:30, got to the menu by 9:40 and sat there, we saw the employee stick their head out after serving the patron in front of us, but never bothered to answer us on the box, so we sat there until 10:10 with three vehicles behind us before we became impatient and drove up to the window to discover everyone working had retreated to the back of the building and could not be bothered to notify us they were closed. I mean would it of hurt to say, ‘hello, I’m sorry we’ve closed for the evening?‘ The food is typical of a fast food joint, nothing 5-star worthy, I mean if you expect that you shouldn’t be eating fast food, but I think we’ll skip returning to this place again…

I haven’t had Carl Jr’s in several years, back in the day when I commuted to California and would hit them up on occasion. I was always relatively impressed with their food and quality for a chain, so needless to say I was pleased to find them in Austin. Finally a night I was craving a burger but in the mood for something different than the usual, I take a drive down south to hit em up. Surprised at the lackluster reviews I went in with the expectation of excessive wait times and mediocre execution. What I end up getting is excellent experiences each and every time I’ve been there, very tasty food, and they’ve been consistent on quality and delivery. Maybe it’s a timing thing as I usually go late night and it’s been the same manager /drive-thru guy each time — — but I really have nothing to complain about. First visit they had a double cheeseburger combo special, and I also noticed they had a spicy chicken sandwich on their value meal so I threw one of those in(someone has to compare the competition). The order taker then says to me: «it will be about 3 minutes on that chicken sandwich — — is that okay?». I told him no problem — — at least it’s good to know that they’re making it fresh now and it wasn’t sitting in a warmer. I do wait those entire 3 minutes, but my meal was pretty darn good. I was very happy with the quality, char-broiled beef, and the french fries were hot and tasty. This was a refreshing change of pace to the Mickey D’s, BK’s and Wendy’s of the world, and the quality is definitely a slight notch better. I’m also impressed with the portions — which are nominal for what I paid as opposed to seeing the beef patties and burgers at Mickey D’s and BK’s get smaller and shrink over time. Oh — the Spicy Chicken Sandwich beats the competition, a notch better for sure. A distant second place = Wendy’s, then Mickey D’s. I also love how they have both red and white onions, and they’ll do both for you onion freaks. I held off on the initial review so I could go back and see if they were consistent, and sure enough each visit resulted in the same great experience — — a hot and tasty grilled burger with fresh french fries and friendly customer service. I gotta give credit where credit is due, but maybe the night shift has their act together? They’re open till midnight or 1am on weekends, and I finally tried the Memphis BBQ Burger(pulled pork + burger + fried onions) and was quite impressed, it was very flavorful, hot, and fresh. So I remain a Carl Jr’s fan as I’ve been very pleased with every experience so far. I have yet to try out any breakfast items or head there during the day time, but all I can say is the night shift has been all good in the Carl Jr’s Hood.
