Boulevard Grill and Sports Bar

Another one of my go to places in Austin. Food is excellent and they have great drink specials throughout the week (different specials each day). My fave is their margaritas, which are a great mix — aren’t too sweet or strong.
Food — I haven’t had a meal that I didn’t like yet. Burgers and sandwiches are great and the chili cheese fries are to die for (the seasoned fries are also good if you aren’t feeling that daring).
Pricing is good — we also order for take out. Place is cozy and can get busy but the staff is very friendly.

Solid, divey, little bar located in the sleepy, Far West college apartment land!
They have good beers on tap, games to play (pool, arcade, darts) and the burgers are pretty good. If you come, come on a Monday and get the two for one special on the burger.

Great neighborhood spot. Staff and owners are super friendly. I love their chicken noodle soup… Just have to catch it on their daily soup days. Order the Mexican candy shot.

I haven’t been here in a while but I have fond memories of this place. My dad and I used to come in every Sunday evening from about 2004 until about 2009 for a burger and some pool. The food is great and the staff is friendly. Great neighborhood bar. It’s also in walking distance from my house which is great.

Had a great time here last week! We were in the area and needed a sports bar to watch our Tampa Bay Lightning play hockey. When we walked in, we saw it wasn’t playing and thought it didn’t hurt to ask. 2 minutes later we were sitting at the bar, cold beers in hand, watching our boys play hockey!
The charm of this place is the owner, Randy (who was bar tending) and the regulars. Everyone was super personable and fun to talk to. We are new to the area and everyone was offering up their opinions on where to eat and go for a fun time.
We had only planned to stay to watch the game, but we ended up staying longer because we were having such a great time. The only reason why i am rating this place 4 stars is because I have not tried the food. I am sure it is great, but I will have to wait and find out next time we go… and we will for sure go again!

As far as Boulevard goes, whilst I wouldn’t say I am a regular, I would say I live a mile away and go when I get a hankering for diner food or am unable to get the Broncos game.
The food has never been particularly exceptional or unexceptional, however, tonight I had an unacceptable experience.
I went in to boulevard after sharing a pitcher of beer with my 8 person dodgeball team.
The server was immediately unwelcoming and implied that she was under the impression we’d been drinking for a while (we had not).
Well into my first and only beer at Boulevard, I started expressing my excitement about Disney putting on a Memorial Day marathon of Disney channel original movies. This included me repeating taglines such as «johnny tsunami goes richter at back door!»
Much to my surprise, the server immediately came to the table and set a glass of water in front of me stating «I’m just going to leave this here.»
I have worked in the service industry for years, and never considered this type of behavior. I am thoroughly disappointed, and will not be returning.
This behavior, accompanied by sub-​par food and consistently mediocre experiences, should certainly be considered when choosing a friendly neighborhood bar.

Should have written this review ages ago. Great atmosphere since stopped smoking inside. Good neighborhood bar. Always great beer and food specials. Food is very good. Burgers tasty. Chicken fried steak is crunchy outside and moist inside. Wife gets Salads and she is picky about freshness-​she approves. Good service.

Wow, just had a drink remade because it had a gnat/​fly in it and the manager argued with me and wanted to charge for it because I had consumed more than half of it. Srlsly?!

Heads up that they don’t do 2-​for-​1 burgers past 3pm on Mondays anymore and not at all on Saturdays. Still good burgers, but you’ll be spending more than expected if you didn’t know they changed their deals.

Best neighborhood sports bar in Northwest Austin. Friendliest staff, great potato skins, enchiladas, mini corndogs and excellent drink specials.

I just had the sloppy Joe’s. They are amazingly good… I’ll definitely be going back for 2^nd’s!!!

I love this place. It’s a pretty typical sports bar but the food is great, the staff is very sweet and the beer flows. Very reasonable prices, the best games are always playing AND good vegetarian options. Support local people! Visit this place, have a burger and stay awhile.

Great little local bar. Laid back atmosphere, good food, plenty of drink choices, and the waitress we always get is super friendly. Plenty of TVs, and every table has a plug, so if you wanted to mix business with pleasure, you could bring your laptop and watch the game. I saw a couple of negative reviews, but I guess they’ve made some positive changes, because I had nothing but positive experiences. Just bought a house in the neighborhood, and this is officially my new go to place.

Delicious! Chips and queso was delicious, food was so good! The waitress however was having a bad day, just wasn’t very friendly, kind of felt rushed to leave as soon as I got there. Will come back though!

I’ve been going to this place for over 3 years, great food, plenty of televisions, cool atmosphere, and a friendly staff.
The wait can be long sometimes but the food is always fresh and delicious, well worth the wait. I recommend the Hercules burger.
For what this place is, I feel 5 stars is appropriate. I have always left there satisfied.
Last year I moved away from the far west area to round rock, and when I’m craving a good burger I don’t hesitate to make the drive down to boulevards for a Hercules burger.

Just grabbed some lunch at the Boulevard Bar and Grill down the street from my house. The wait staff was awesome, the bartender knew everybody by name and was even playing dominos with a patron while still making sure everybody had a drink and was taken care of. I’ve been looking for a good burger in my area for weeks now and I finally found it. I got the bleu cheese bacon cheese burger and it was great. It wasn’t one of those a bleu cheese burgers where they put so much on it spills out all over and you only get one bite of actual bleu cheese the bacon was crispy not undercooked and stringy like most places and the buns tasted buttery and delicious. I will be going back on a regular basis and I suggest you try it out for yourself so you know what a great burger in this area can actually taste like.

There are a lot of regulars here, they’re all friends. Always sports on TV. I’m being forced to write more.

This place is normally great, but recently it has gone way down hill. The waitstaff is extremely slow and rude. Today my family was disrespected by the manager. We will never go back to this establishment because of him. The bar is filled with creepy old men. This place has gone downhill since the 5 years i have been going here, and noone is to blame but the manager. They are always looking for new waitstaff for a good reason

This is our go to restaurant when we want a beer and a burger. It’s got local Austin sports bar charm and there are enough TVs that no matter where you sit you can see the game. My favorite food picks are any of the burgers, chicken fried steak and fajitas night. The service is prompt and I love that this place is so close to home.

Dirty with poor customer service. I was there for lunch with a friend and ordered a cheeseburger with fries. midway through my burger, I notice a little cockroach in my friends burger basket heading for his catchup. I immediately stopped eating and mentioned it to the waitress who offered a quick apology and brought us the bill !!!
I guess we should pay full price for cockroach infested burgers.
I’m never going back.

Fun neighborhood place to get a beer and food.

So happy we stopped in tonight!!! I wanted to eat somewhere local while in the area, took a chance on a very unassuming place. Small neighborhood bar and grill, with very good bar food. Had homemade chips and salsa, steak sandwich with real steak (not the thin stuff), excellent seasoned fries and hubbs had a buffalo chicken sandwich that he really liked. We don’t live nearby but will **definitely** return when back over this way! Conveniently located just off Mopac and Far West. Good service & free wifi too. GO!

After having lived in this area off an on since 2008, I am still getting over the fact that I’ve just now found this bar. All I’ve ever wanted was a decent neighborhood bar, and it’s here, albeit hidden in a weird Far West strip mall, with a nondescript sign and off yellow brick. I didn’t even need the food to be good; I’ve only had the veggie burger, but it is a solid A-​. What I love about The Blvd is the daily specials on food AND drinks, that aren’t just tied to happy hour, they have a few beers on tap, and the staff has always been friendly and attentive. I’m not crazy about the sports bar theme and the TVs everywhere, but that’s not what I fret over in a neighborhood bar. I want beers on tap at a decent price, clean tap lines, and staff that knows when to ask if I need a refill. The Boulevard meets all of that criteria plus it has a good veggie burger.

So, I’ve only been here once. I would go again… possibly. I only ate fried okra, which was above par, and drank cheap beer, so… I can’t say too much. The beer prices were ok and they have daily specials, as well as TVs showing sports near the bar. It felt sort of Poodle-​Dog (gie)…meaning the bar on Burnet. To me, it seemed like you stepped into some sort of time warp of old Austinites tearing it up on a work night… but not that there’s anything wrong with that.
On a side note, some lady got really mad at some fellas at the bar and ran off screaming, «You guys are Fu*kers!» And attempted to knock over a bunch of stools on the way out. Haha! Not sure what that was about, because we were in a booth couldn’t see the action. Could she not come up with a better cut down?
My friend had a salad, priced at about $ 7 that was tiny!!, but he liked the dressing.

We go here often for lunch. The two for one specials make this meal option very affordable. My fiancé and I usually do the two for one burgers (must buy two beverages to get this deal — sodas are reasonably priced). We get two different types, cut them in half and swap to have a more flavorful experience. We have tried almost all of the burgers and there really isn’t a bad one in the bunch. My main suggestion is to sub one of the combo’s fries for onion rings (they are delicious).
Service is very good normally, although I have had a bad waitress twice. However, I think 2 out of 30 is a pretty good average. Their fajitas are also available as two for one and are better than Maudie’s fajitas in my opinion. They have an all you can eat catfish that my brother said was very tasty.
All in all, it is a great bar and grill for any college student in the area due to it’s reasonably priced food and drinks. They have a large selection of beer and liquor.

This place ain’t bad at all.
I had the Hickory Cheeseburger, which was very tasty and came with fries. To drink I got an Ace pear cider, which is always a good choice.
My buddy, who’s been here several times before, said most of their food’s really good; I’ll take his word for it lol.
There’s plenty of screens to catch sports on, as well as a few arcade games in the corner.
Our server, and older, bald gentleman with an earring, was really funny. His humor might be a bit abrasive for some, but if you have a sense of humor, he’s pretty funny.
