I’ve been enjoying grabbing a sandwich and knocking out a little work on my lunch break, but today was completely disappointed with pricing and customer service. Last week I asked about building my own bagel sandwich — a regular sandwich runs about $ 5.50, and they required an up charge of $ 1.25 for the cream cheese. Seems a little steep for a plain bagel with cream cheese, a slice of turkey, and a piece of lettuce. Their $ 5.50 sandwiches have a lot more ingredients, but I was willing to do the up charge. Today I went back and ordered the same thing. Not only did they want to charge me for the cream cheese, but also the bagel! So $ 8.25 for bagel, cream cheese, turkey, and lettuce. So I’m paying like $ 3 in up charges and all that’s left of the original $ 5.50 sandwich charge is the turkey and a piece of lettuce? Come on. You can get salmon on a bagel with capers and cream cheese for $ 5.25. So how are the $ 3 in up charges justified at more than an additional 50% increase to the original price of this comparable sandwich? Even the manager confirmed they had to do the up charges, so off I go with no lunch. Oh and the manager was the one that rang up me order last visit. Einstein’s next time. Bye Blue Baker!

I love love love their sandwiches and cookies. I’m not a big sandwich eater; but when I get in the mood for a sandwich, this is the place. The bread is soft and not hard like some of the sandwich places I’ve eaten at before. Everything was fresh. I love their turkey provolone sandwich on Parmesan bread. Overall, a great experience!

Lured in for weekday breakfast by small credit card style coupon that came via USPS. Plenty of parking. Nice, live oak shaded location at NW corner of The Arboretum. Booths on inside. 4 top tables on the small patio. Patio dining will be lame until the major remodel construction at the South American steakhouse next door is wrapped up. Shouldn’t take too long & once completed patio will be nice on a cool day. Breakfast croissants were tasty. Not eye rolling, mind blowing but prepared with skill and care. Coffee was hot, dark roast & tasty. Order at the counter, take a number, they bring it to your table system worked well & quickly. Star off for food being barely above room temp. Breakfast croissants should be served on the high end of warm, close to hot temp scale. The slice of cheese was solid & showed no sign of being melted whatsoever. Bacon while cooked perfectly was sadly, also served cold. Croissant while lightly toasted was room temp. Eggs while warm were no where near hot. This stumble could be remedied by putting a microwave in the self serve nook where they stash coffee fixings, napkins, etc… Staffers were competent and friendly. Place was spotless. Very high ceilings. Probably noisy when they get busy. Feels more like a chain restaurant than a mom & pop bakery. They need to lose the large poster promoting their cookies that was in the window facing the patio. Inexplicably, it read something to the effect of Blue Baker being a great place to «toss your cookies.» WTF?! Whoever green lit the printing up what was obviously a large printing run of these posters for hanging in BB’s numerous locations needs their head examined. I see it’s owned/operated by what appear to be Aggies from Texas A&M. Way to own the stereotype? Otherwise a good experience and will try again & hope for warmer food and less barf joke posters next time.

In all of Austin, I have never been to a restaurant that was so generous with giving out numerous delicious mouthwatering samples. The blue Baker is worth visiting just on the amazing experience of visiting their bathroom sinks. I have never in my life experienced such an unusual way to wash hands. I will return here again and again. Sandwiches are mediocre.

Love this place. The pizza here is awesome, but the salted caramel brownies here are to die for.

The chicken on the salads was dry and tasteless. The dressing overly sweet. The baked goods, stale. There is not a soft surface in the place so the sound bounces from wall to wall creating quite a din. Disagreeable atmosphere and food. Go elsewhere.

We stopped in for some breakfast on the way to pick up some eyeglasses yesterday and got a very tasty breakfast platter for me and a breakfast sandwich for wifey. While we both thought our meals were well prepared and filling … the real treat was on the way out when we got chocolate almond croissants to go. Very decadent and worth every calorie! Located in a very nice building on the north side of the Arboretum at Highway 183 and Loop 360, the business area is spacey and modern. The location has some contruction happening outside at present, and it’s a little hard to enter from the mall side of the place and the construction is even a little distracting once inside, but the croissants … worth the inconvenience!

I went to school in College Station, so I was really excited when I found out my new office was right down the street from BB. This is exactly what I think of when I am in the mood to go to a café. Locally owned, with fresh and delicious baked goods plus a variety of menu items. All of this at a fairly reasonable price and with a clean atmosphere — what more do you need? First visit to this location and so far, so good! Will be back many times, I’m sure!

I’m giving a 2 star review because a couple of previous visits have been okay. But this visit was really bad. My friend and I got there about 10 minutes before the 10:30 breakfast cut off time. I asked for a Multigrain bagel and the man behind the counter said all they had left is plain bagels. No big deal but my friend behind me ordered a breakfast sandwich and he said her only option was a croissant because bagels were all gone. This is a bakery and they’re out of all bagels by 10:30? The worse part, the part that made me upset enough to write the review(I rarely do) is that he was kind of smirking about my friend having to get a croissant instead of a bagel because they were out of bagels. Not to mention that he happily cheered that they were out of bagels when we were checking out, he also happily cheered(with applause following from kitchen) that breakfast is over. I get it, I’ve worked in food service. You’re happy to get past doing two meals at once. But he/they failed miserably at cooking our food. My bagel was burnt and my friends eggs were cold. I’ve heard good things about Blue Baker but this will definitely be my last visit. HORRIBLE customer service.

Great food. Fast delivery and they’ll deliver the entire menu to you between 7am till close. So far I’ve had zero problems and the food is always on point. I highly recommend their Danishes, and breakfast croissant sandwiches. The girl, Brandi who delivered is awesome, she had so much energy and kept up the good vibes.

Any place that has a pick two option is always good in my book so I really enjoy their salads and sandwich options. I’m also a huge fan of how they have lots of samples but they can be a little dangerous if no on is watching and I start helping myself to multiple samples :). The bread as you would expect from any bakery is very good as are the bagels and pastries. The tables place is very clean in general and the tables are nice for a casual meal or working alike.

Bought a bunch of cupcakes for a party. They probably have other good food but here is my experience. The icing on the chocolate cupcake tastes beefy, faintly like a bouillon cube, the cake was not that great either but at least moist. Also had a red velvet cupcake the icing was delicious, the cake had a good taste but was very dry. I’d go back to try other food but I would steer clear of the chocolate cupcakes.

Um, wow! This cute bakery has everything! It’s quite affordable as well. There are huge glass walls so you can see in the kitchen. When we got there they were making all sorts of fabulous sweets… we may have to hit thos place up again before I head home.

Average for lunch. I was not a fan of the ordering system but I don’t think its a big deal just confusing. The bread is really fresh. The sandwiches were okay/good. The desserts looked great. Just nothing special(sorry)

How can you be blue at Blue Baker? Location: Shaded, plenty of parking Inside: High ceilings, Ikea-like, indoor booths/tables with outdoor patio area. Very clean. Service: Southern friendly, fast, and knowledgeable Food: My indigo sandwich(Sliced chicken breast on herbed focaccia with sun-dried tomato aioli, spinach, tomatoes, and provolone cheese), wasn’t too big. Very buttery, but nice. The provolone was overpowering and the cheese basically led the overall taste. Bread was good. Side order of clam chowder– no complaints, it was ok. Lemon cupcake– frosting was really sweet but overall fine. Summary: Brunch/lunch, pretty quiet so good for lunch meetings/interviews/serious date talks. I would come back to try the pizza and a few other items!

UPDATE. I visit this location almost weekly and it goes like this. Four to seven folks milling around behind the counter. Everyone is looking«very busy», you stand there and wait, stand there and wait. Oh, we’ll get right to you hon, stand there and wait. Someone finally comes over to take your order and directs you to go and pay. NOONE is at the register. Stand there and wait, stand there and wait. OH, we’ll get right to you hon. I have the buzzer in my hand as I get to my table it goes off… this is for a Danish on a plate. Very disorganized and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

This is the best place I have ever been to. It looks fancy on the outside but it’s a party on the inside. Everything I want out of a restaurant. Their sandwiches are exquisite. Their pizzas are the bomb. And don’t get me started about the cupcakes… Written by my 12 year old son Guy and me He rarely thinks something is 5 star. Great service

VERY attentive, positive, and helpful staff! I recently had foot surgery, and without me saying anything, a cashier came to my table to take my order, in order to make it easier for me. In addition, the manager was visible, helpful, and greeting customers. AWESOME! I ordered the broccoli cheese bread bowl(yummy!) and walnut apple chicken side salad. Delicious, but please note: apples weren’t fresh, but rather dehydrated(would have preferred fresh, and the pomegranate vinaigrette tasted like kool-aid. Overall, I’m in love with this bakery, and I want to move in and live here!
