Best Kuts

I am horrible — I cheated on my beloved!
Okay… here was the situation: Last minute business trip (like tomorrrow!) and I was 3 days out from my usual visit to get my ‘fro tightened (hair cut). My usual go-​to (the aforementioned beloved) was too far away (cuz Austin afternoon traffic is nothing to mess with), so I was left to scramble…
On my way to work that morning (where I found out about the last minute trip), I passed by Best Kuts and thought… I might need to Unilocal this… but work got in the way (of course). So I panicked and drove to Best Kuts PRAYING (after being sent away from one place that I thought could help) that they could do something with my fro… I really should not have worried.
The place was dead (great for me!!) and Tina was working the chair (even better for me!). I asked if she could cut my hair (the other place I found close to work could not — even though the same suggested it…)
She sat me down, cut my hair, massaged me (with this big arsed machine), and recut my hair (I wanted it lower) all within 15 minutes and cheaper than expected; and my beloved (even with tip!)
If my beloved barber shop is reading this… it’s not you, it me… I mean we can be friends, and I will see you around, but Best Kuts may have stolen my heart away…
And Best Kuts, I am changing my FB status from «in a relationship» to «its complicated»…

Reba was fast with my 3 year old. Did a good job. It’s a really cute salon inside. I see they serve beverages to their clients and one lady was having a glass of wine.

I have been going to Reba for nearly a year now and I can honestly say that I have never had a better stylist. The salon is always extremely clean and the staff is always very friendly and it makes it a fun environment to visit. It is always nice to go in after work and have a cold beer while getting a hair cut.

My boyfriend went here to get a haircut, he usually shaves his head but wanted a little change. He has very little hair since he usually shave it off (Razor #3). He came home and it was awful. they shaved the bottom half and did nothing to the top. I like the shaved bottom and trimmed top, but not when it does not blend together at all. #1 on bottom and nothing on top, he looks like a little kid who’s mom cut his hair. I have done a better and I am not a hair stylist.

They will have my business for the foreseeable future. Nice people, no waiting (usually), and, most important, a great haircut. I did not choose the place because I need an EXPERIENCE. They provide great service at a reasonable price.

NICE, nice, good service, they offer you beer or wine but no COFFEE! Sad:(Clean, stylish cute place. The owner is very friendly and professional, they use good quality products on you. After your haircut or styling they offer you a massage (2 minutes) it feels good… Maybe some of the other stylist could use some HR or HPO to make the business more friendlier and inviting. I know this is hard, is tough to find good, friendly employees… I owned a salon and Spa back home for 9 years, but it is not impossible. People are always coming and going… my kids like it there. I’m staying here for a while… Maybe I could open a coffee shop next to it, remember Carolina loves coffee:)

This wasn’t my first choice, but my kid’s regular stylist flaked on us again, so we opted for convenience and checked out this local spot with the multiple signs near the street. MIS. TAKE.
My kid clearly wasn’t comfortable with the place, and the stylist didn’t help. There are big screen TV’s near the chairs and the stylist’s happened to be turned to some graphic documentary of Jesus on the crucifix. Stylist guy didn’t even notice until my kid freaked and I asked him to turn it off. So much for making it fun for him.
Another fun moment — quizzing my kid on where he heard of Best Kuts. As if my kid’s going to share with him some insight that’ll help this place’s marketing strategy. Here’s a tip — watch what you put on your TV’s?
The final moment was when «Amazing Grace» came over the sound system and he guy casually said to the two of us, out loud, «This song reminds me of DEATH.» Strike Three, Best Kuts! Thanks and good bye! Do not recommend. Which is a shame because the boy’s cut was actually decent. Sorry but even an awesome haircut won’t make up for creepy vibe.
