Decent snowball place. It is shaved ice but the ice is not shaved very thin. I prefer the«New Orleans» thin style. I tried their egg custard syrup. It was good but the flavor was not very strong. Left me wishing it was a lot stronger/thicker/something. However the first few bites with marshmallow topping were amazing. Too bad there were not more of those. Baltimore Ballers is worth a try if you are in the area but not worth driving to for me.

it’s hot… the ONLY thing that kept me from losing my mind was some snowy goodness from the dudes at Baltimore Ballers!

Another unplanned trailer stop for our trailer tour. After some walking around of the trailer park, I needed to quench my thirst. Plus we were sweating like mofos from the Texas heat and humidity. Stop #3: Baltimore Ballers to the rescue! After consulting with the owner regarding the flavors«The Joker,» «The Batman,» and such. I decided the good Longhorn in me had to order«The Longhorn.» He said it was egg custard with raspberry flavor. Owner said he put that last on the list of flavors because it’s his favorite. Well say no more to this Longhorn! After ordering up a regular sized snow cone with additional marshmallow topping, my bff and I were chowing down on the best snow cone we’ve ever had in our lives. And of course very suitably, the color of the ice came out to be burnt orange. My other friend got the Tampico with lemon-lime flavoring in it. That was good stuff too.

This place is not next to the Luster Pearl anymore, they’ve moved to 6th and Waller in a trailer park eatery with other food vendors, right next to Cheer Up Charlies. Really cheap, tons of flavors, nice dudes.

I wanted my 300th review to be something I was really excited about. Well, Baltimore Ballers, you had me at egg custard! You are now the standard which I will now measure all other snow cones/shaved ice. You take care of the obvious minimum(which some don’t) — perfectly shaved ice with no lumps of ice. Then, you offer all the flavors everyone does but with sugar instead of corn syrup. Then, you do things like offer snow cones with fresh orange juice, sweet leaf tea, topico, half and half, chocolate syrup, and a warhead candy spray that makes your ice sour. I had their traditional Baltimore treat which had a sweet egg custard flavor topped with a marshmallow crème… weary of how it sounded but it was actually heavenly — light and refreshing! Truly, the possibilities seem endless with shaved ice — you could have fruit, alcohol, frozen shaved drinks… but thank you Baltimore for taking several large leaps ahead of the pack! Caveat — I haven’t been to Jim Jim’s yet.

My AC went out today and Baltimore Ballers saved the day!!! This is possibly the coolest place in Austin on a hot day — not only do they serve cold treats they got misters!!! The kind that try their best too cool you off. This morning I got a fresh squeezed orange juice on fresh shaved ice with some some cream! And I scored an awesome vintage western shirt from Squash Blossom Vintage who was set up in their lot. They just happen to be parked next to Lustre Pearl and are open late!
