I’ve been a customer of Sol’s for several years. These guys are real pros. He has fitted my wife and me for 6 bikes. I wouldn’t think of getting a bike without having Sol fit it for me.
We have had them make several wheel sets for us and I just ordered a custom fitted Cinelli Supercorsa from them at a great price. I have great faith and trust in their skill, knowledge and honesty. Besides, they are great people; we sometimes just drop in to say hello. Lots of others do too. So should you.

I was in town for a few days and having «people» in Austin, they took me to Austin Bike for a rental. Not only was the bike top of the line, the price was reasonable and fair. Sol made sure everything was in order and when I saw him a couple of days later at the Driveway races, he called me by name. That was impressive for someone I had met only once for less than 20 minutes. I also saw him working the bike station at the races and can say without a doubt that he is a very very good wrench. If I were to see him wrenching for a pro team on tour, I would nod an affirmative, and know the team made a good choice.
Here is my take. Next time you need to buy, rent or have your bike tuned or fixed by a professional, try Austin Bikes. I’m very confident that Sol will become your go to wrench from then on. He’s good at what he does and he cares about what he does. That’s why I give Austin Bikes five stars.

Had my bike repaired here recently. Took it out for a spin the next day and it has NEVER worked better. All the rattling and screeching I normally have was gone (all bonus fixes above and beyond why I took the bike in). Super cool folks who know their stuff!

Just had my bike professionally fit by Sol. It was a great experience. It was a very accommodating shop and they were very professional and nice. I will definitely be coming here again for any need I may have. I would recommend this shop 100%.

After getting a bike fitting from Sol, with some minor modifications to my bike, here are the results:
* my knees don’t hurt
* my back doesn’t hurt
* I can ride twice as far
* I can ride twice as fast
* my feet feel better
* it feels like I have a brand new bike
Sol was very nice, as were all the employees. They won’t make you feel badly for being a newbie (as I am). Sol patiently answered all my dumb questions. I really wish he’d teach a class for beginners.
The only con I can say about this place is I wasn’t served a margarita.

What can I say about Sol, Adrian, and Satoshi… They possess the true spirit of cyclist who just happen to also sell bikes from their new shop on West Lynn. They are the nicest people and only want you be happy while riding your bike. Instead of selling a person on a bike, they find a bike (or equipment like wheels, brakes, tires) to meet the actual needs of the rider. They do not sell to a price point.
I spent a few hours in their shop chatting with them about the industry and riding life. As people came in and out, they treated everyone they met like old family friends and it was awesome. They support local riding culture, shop rides, driveway racing series and go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. They deserve new business from anyone who is within a reasonable driving (or riding) distance from them. Hell, I live 30 miles north and will go to them for just about everything that isnt an emergency purchase.
There are many bike sellers in Austin, but this is one of the few bike shops that focus on riders first, revenue second. I implore you to use these guys. Your bike and your backside will appreciate it! (and your significant other…:))
