I had the pleasure of working with Deanna as an intern last summer, I have attended an art therapy info session she offered at UT, and I have enjoyed her art workshops. Deanna is a very professional, kind and sincere woman, not to mention a creative artist. She has many years of experience both as an artist and a therapist, and truly cares about people, and is willing to share her knowledge. Her workshops offer a calm and relaxed atmosphere in which to meet fellow women artists and create artwork. The workshops offer fun and creative crafts I haven’t seen elsewhere, such as the felt hat making one I attended. It’s thanks to Deanna that I discovered the art of needle felting. And that’s something she has to offer as an art therapist — a great variety of methods and art-making mediums, so that clients have a free range of choices with which to express themselves. The office is shared with Austin Ashiatsu, and its staff are very friendly and respectful. The two businesses coexist in harmony, allowing for a stress-free environment. I’ve never had any trouble finding street parking very close to the business. I highly recommend Art Therapy Austin! :)
