This is the vey best way to relax deeply. I’ve been going 3 times a week for several months and has been amazing. I’ve reaped physical, mental and emotional benefits from floating. I have so many great things to say about it, but you really should try it if you’re interested. I signed up as a member for $ 99 a month and it’s been worth every penny. I’ve had three of my friends start going as well because it is so helpful. If everyone floated I think it could solve a lot of the problems in our society.

I have bad leg issues and I won a gift card at a school fair and I figured I would give it a shot. I am a very hard sell on self indulgence but I must reccomed Aquatonic. The front associate is very pleasant and not pushy at all. Very relaxing experience and it totally helped readjust my leg. So if you are likek me and really don’t like massages because it is a stranger touching you. This might be a different route for you. I would definitely reccomend trying it, bc I know I will be going again soon! Thanks!

What a cool experience! I was a little trepidacious before going in but Beth explained everything. If you’re claustrophobic you can leave the lid open, if you’re not super comfy being in the dark you can have light(lovely, soft, changing color lights, even). The water is skin temp — so not too hot, not too cold… juuuuust right. You can even choose one of 15 or so soundtracks to listen to at the beginning and end of your float. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep. The facilities are very clean. It’s very reasonably priced, too. I strongly recommend you check it out and try it at least once!

This place is like heaven on earth. I have had horrible shoulder pain for the past two years and have not been able to find anything that would help up until now. My experience was incredible and when I left I felt better than I have in a very long time. Also the staff was extremely helpful and sweet. I will definitely be coming back.

Oh my goodness why haven’t I tried this before? Float tanks always remind me of that hilarious«Iso Tank» episode from the 90s British show Absolutely Fabulous, but this was literally a game changer for me! I felt more relaxed and refreshed than I have after any massage therapy. Perhaps it’s the only child or the Pisces in me, but I found the whole experience incredibly serene and peaceful. The almost constant pain from my tennis elbow was practically gone by the time my hour long float was up. I’m definitely thinking of getting a membership as I left feeling as if I’d taken a Xanax. This is incredibly therapeutic for people like me who suffer from debilitating anxiety and panic attacks but don’t like pharmaceuticals(sorry– hope not TMI, but those who have it will know the suffering). I’m booking a float for this weekend!

This was my first float and I don’t think I can adequately explain how incredibly relaxing it was. The facility is very clean and has an inviting feel. Lauren, the woman working that day was very sweet and patiently answered all my questions. You also have 10 minutes before and after to shower that doesn’t cut into your 60 min float. This will definitely not be my last visit!

Had my first float last Saturday and it was ahhhh-mazing. I like that they give you ample time before and after the actual float to shower and get dressed — it’s not included in the appt time like some massage places do. So you have 10 mins to shower and get in the egg, you float for an hour, then you have 10 mins to shower and get dressed, and you have as much time as you need to sit in the«recovery» area and drink water or tea, dry your hair, freshen up, etc. The spa was a little hard to find. It’s in the same building as the Whole Foods, but around the corner on the right side. I can’t wait to go back! p. s. please open another location North(or Davenport Village) and I will buy an unlimited monthly membership! It’s that awesome!

I have been wanting for a long time to float. I finally came across this place recently and saw they had the top of the line float tanks. I was so excited and their place is as awesome as it looks. After my float I felt really good. and then i started feeling better. and better. until i fell asleep and slept like I have never slept before. I recommend everyone at least try it out. especially now that their rates are VERY low.

In the 70’s I had been in a research project that used float tanks. Back then, they looked like coffins… This tank looks much more like an egg, which i prefer. The staff is very conscientious, and are great at answering questions. It is impeccably clean, and for the sake of convenience, they provide everything you might need from towels to moisturizer. I had anticipated some of the claustrophobia that I remembered, but the tanks have a light which you can control as well as being able to lift the lid if you are more comfortable, so no claustrophobia issues. I also am finding that the effect is cumulative– the more often you go the more relaxing the effect.

I slept like a baby after my float, so I’m sold! This spa is tucked in to a really nice shopping area on William Cannon. Clean, modern space with great staff. They’ve thought of everything to make it as relaxing an experience as possible. Your pod is located in an individual room with a spa-quality shower, along with a bench area and hooks to put your bags and clothes. Towels are laid out for you and the shower has shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel so there’s no need to bring your own. They allow 10 minutes for you to shower before AND after your float and your actual float time doesn’t start until you step into the pod. You can lock the door for privacy and there are motion sensors in the room so they know when you step into the pod and close it. Since this was my first float I chose to leave the light on and put it on the«ambient» setting so that it wasn’t so bright. I worried I might not want to close the pod, but it’s actually much larger than you expect… once I was in, I had plenty of space to move in every direction.(There’s a panic button inside, which is nice to have just in case!) I did the hour float, which is the least amount of time, and while it was very relaxing, it was incredibly hard to turn my brain off and just be still in silence for an hour.(If you’re a yogi or meditate regularly this will probably come much easier for you.) I was also really distracted by my ear plugs, which I’m not used to wearing, as I’m not a swimmer. They play soft music in the last 5 minutes to help you ease in to coming back to reality. Thankfully the staff member had warned me that the pod basically turns into a hot tub at the end of your float and I got out before the jets came on… that’s a bit startling after being still for an hour. They have a great area for you to sit and relax after you’ve showered and changed. You can sit at the vanities lined up at the wall and fix tea or water and just take your time putting yourself back together before you leave. It was a really great experience and the sleep I had that night alone was worth it!

A float session at Aqua Tonic is profoundly relaxing. I’m 8 months pregnant and constantly on the look out for something that will bring my body some relief from the pressures of hosting a little human. I’ve been doing prenatal massage and yoga, which is helpful, but nothing has brought the relief of «floating». I discovered this place when running errands in the area. My husband, decades ago, had tried out what — at the time — they called«sensory deprivation tanks.» He raved about the experience, saying it was somehow transcendent. When I saw the sign for Aqua Float, I wondered if this was the same kind of therapy that he described and decided to check it out to see if it would make a good Valentines Day gift for him. I went in and was greeted by Jason, who showed me around the spa. It’s very modern and clean. The«pods» are like something out of a sci-fi film. Jason talked to me about the facility, the pods, and the benefits and joys of «floating». I could see the same evangelical zeal in his eyes that I saw in my husband’s when he described the experience. Here’s the run down — the water is the same temperature as your body and each pod has about 1200 lbs of Epson salt in it. So you float. Yup, it’s like a little piece of the Dead Sea, right here in Austin. After Jason’s introduction, I immediately bought a membership for my husband, who toils at a computer for 15+ hours a day. He’s got all kinds of aches, pains, and joint issues that he’s too macho to complain about. I decided to go along and try it with him for his first float. As I mentioned at the top of my review, the relief from the prenatal pain I felt was profound. Any pregnant woman suffering from back, hip, leg, foot pain would love love love this experience — the joys of weightlessness. My muscles are able to let go and deeply relax in a way that massage and yoga couldn’t match. For my hubby, it’s all about shutting out the world, meditating, and living out his flying-though-outer space fantasies. For me, it’s all about a reprieve from gravity for a full, glorious hour. When we emerge from a session, we’re in another state. Floating joys aside, as a spa experience, it’s also great. The showers in the float rooms have wonderful lavender scented products. The towels are fluffy and fresh. There are delicious loose-leaf teas to drink as you are leaving. Oh, added benefit — I’ve got that sexy day-at-the-beach hair. Thank you for coming to my neighborhood, AquaFloat.
