I stumbled upon this place at the farmer’s market with my hubs. The lady at the booth was very nice. She allowed us to sample a couple of dishes and holy flavor! We had a hard time deciding which one to buy between the beef dish and the spicy chicken dish. We went with the spicy chicken — Ayam Rica Rica. The flavors were amazing. It had juicy chicken with the bone in, tomato, ginger, lemon grass, thai chilis, basil, and so much more flavors that blended perfectly. I really like tomato based dishes. The serving size I bought was 16oz and cost about $ 7. I made some rice to go along with this dish and would say the amount lasted for about 3 meals. I really wish I also bought the beef dish. Can’t wait to go back to the farmer’s market to buy more. If you are looking to try something new and different, you won’t be disappointed.

Algiani’s offers those individuals who desire convenience food, locally made takes on ethnic cuisines, and something ready-to-eat to take home from the farmer’s market an Indonesian selection. With dishes ranging from chicken curry to corn fritters, the menu from Winda(the brain behind the operation) provides something for all types of eaters: spicy, sweet, meaty, veggie. Going further, she cranks out the spice mixes and various ingredient combinations with an Indonesian mortar and pestle. The large containers run $ 7 for meat and $ 6 for vegetables, and they boast lots of traditional flavor and ingredients. Far from processed, the labels contain all whole ingredients. Definitely no faux-Asian grub here. I don’t know how sustainable this concept is for a full blow business, with delivery and what not, but I very much appreciate that you can find these goods at your local Farmer’s Market and that the products come frozen – so as to provide you a weeks worth of meals. Combine your meal with some cheap meal stretchers i.e. noodles and rice, and you have yourself a winner winner(sometimes, but not always) chicken dinner.
