Gold’s Gym

It’s been a while since I went in there but they were very high pressure. (And not very good at it either) My company had a corporate deal that was good at participating Gold Gym locations. The East west connector location was not participating but then gave me their standard rate sheet. When I told the sales woman I needed to think about it. She said «so your not serious about getting in shape» I have friends that work out here and they enjoy it so I’ll give them 2 stars.

Ummmm what happened to the weights???
Gold’s Gym has always been known for its huge selection of free weights but I guess this location decided that we’re doing something different.
There is a lot of functional training equipment like kettlebells and trx’s but if you’re not trained in that type of workout you will be very disappointed with the few other options.
I hope that no one else wants to do legs on the same day…

Joined this gym a year ago. Staff is friendly and the equipment is always clean. They recently changed the women’s center to a free for all. Which is ok, but I do have to admit I miss the comfort of having the room to ourselves. Locker room and showers are clean also

Joined this gym back in January on a $ 28/​month special for the VP membership (can always bring a guest, no limits). This gym also gets you access to their 2 sister facilities in Douglasville.
The main reason I joined Gold’s vs. LA Fitness are the classes Gold’s offers, specifically their POWER class — which I LOVE. Very satisfied. You can tell there is a true family atmosphere. Everyone, staff and members, are extremely nice and supportive. It’s def not just your average gym.
Open 24 hours with classes that are offered at all times during the day. The instructors are extremely motivating and I love going to the classes. POWER and BLAST are my two favorite classes.
Amazing gym, very satisfied, great price! Can’t beat it! The only thing I wish they had was a steam /​sauna room. But they facility off Hospital Dr. in Douglasville has one so it’s all good.

I frequent this gym anytime I’m in Austell… it’s more spacious than the two locations in Douglasville and has more equipment, especially cardio… the group classes are awesome and keep you energized… this is a 24 hr gym during the weekdays which is perfect for the crazy hours I keep… everyone here is cordial & they keep the showers, lockers and bathrooms pretty clean… wish they had a sauna though to top it off… when I first signed up it was for 18 mths… I didn’t mind because I really need to stick to a gym for at least a year… as with anything in this world you would sign, make sure you read the contract first & get the length of terms where you want it~

I joined this gym through a Groupon for a three-​month membership. I was looking for group classes to cross-​train as a supplement to my running. My expectations were low. I have been very pleasantly surprised. Their group classes (I’ve taken dance, kickboxing, core, and indoor cycling) are great! The instructors are friendly, professional, and consistent. The staff is friendly. The equipment seems to be well-​maintained. The only thing I would like to see are a few updates like hand sanitizer stations, modern water-​bottle refill water fountains, and sanitizing wipes for the equipment instead of towels and spray bottles. I’m very happy with this gym and would recommend it.

I have never had a problem with the staff or any of the facilities… If you have a problem with paying a membership is more than likely you don’t work out enough and use the benefits

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. They will do whatever they can to soak you for every penny! LA Fitness is less than a mile down the road and they are a lot more understanding of situations like ours. Due to our careers, we have had to move frequently. We recently sold our house and are moving to an area about 45 minutes away. I was told that in order to cancel the contract, I had to call their financial company who handles all transactions. After talking to 2 different people who apparently had never heard of someone cancelling a membership due to a move and the contract does not have a moving clause. When I called the gym, I spoke to someone who said they will be able to cancel my membership because I have been a member longer than a year– when I cancelled today, same thing. I then get an email stating that I cannot get out of the contract without getting whacked with an $ 89 cancellation fee AND i have to provide proof of the sale of my home and proof that I bought a new one. I am shocked they did nto ask for my bank accounts and the pre-​approval letters from the bank. This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever experienced. So, if you decide to join this gym, make absolutely sure you have your life planned far in advance so you do not have to get soaked with fees. Every other gym I have been a member of, has been awesome. Stay away from this one.

Where’s a lifetime fitness to show these punks how it’s done

I joined a gym last week!
A friend referred me to Gold’s with a free 7 day pass about a month ago, and Matt, one of the personal trainers here, called me to activate it before it expired. He set up an appointment to show me around the gym, give me information on classes, and answer any questions I had. He was super friendly and very informative.
They ended up having a sale on memberships a couple of days later and I jumped at the chance.
I haven’t been to any of the classes yet (they are included in the membership, but I run a weird schedule), but I love that they’re open 24 hours M-​F. When I go during the day, I never have to wait for a machine, and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. The locker rooms are nice and super clean, which I appreciate, as I mostly go on my way to work.
So far, I’d definitely recommend Gold’s. The only thing they lack is a pool :(
