Golden Corral

We haven’t been to this Golden Corral location in about two years and it’s very rundown, dirty and nasty since we last came. The food didn’t taste the same either it didn’t taste fresh at all and the bourbon chicken was very salty. The empty tables had clumps of food left on it and the floor too. We went on a Monday afternoon and it wasn’t busy so it was no excuse why the place was filthy. The carpet was really dingy and had a lot spills on it. The carrot cake icing had a funny taste to it like it was sitting out too long and should have been refrigerated.
This locations really need to remodeled it has an old nasty smell to especially when you come in near the door where the high chairs are located. We had to cover our drinks with napkins because several gnats were flying around. The bread pudding was very slimy like it was sitting there all day long. Our utensils had brown spots on them because they weren’t cleaned properly.
Our waitress didn’t ask to refill our drinks barely came over to check on us and regretted leaving her a $ 5 tip because our bill was around $ 30 for two people. I don’t think it was worth $ 30 we could’ve went to other places and spent that amount and receive better service and food.
I recommend no one eat here the health department really need to check this place out. If it’s nasty in dining area imagine how it look in the back where they cook the food and wash the dishes. I won’t be rating here again.

food is always aright… but there is always a scene. WTF is wrong with people in Atlanta? Behave ur fuckin self!!! Surely someone in ur life, at soe point, tried to teach u public decency and manners…

Made the mistake of going on Mother’s day. The line was not bad and seating went fairly quickly. The first shock was the $ 13.99 ($ 13.49 for seniors).
The food however was below mediocre to put it kindly. The hot food wasn’t hot and the cold food wasn’t cold. The mashed potatoes were runny, the fried chicken tasted like it was reheated, the cabbage and Brussels sprouts under cooked and the Mac and cheese over cooked.
Drink refills and getting the table cleared took longer than it should.
But the cotton candy and hand dipped ice cream were good. My family has crossed this one off the list permanently.

Now I know Golden Corral is always busy on Sundays but they almost seemed caught off guard by the heavy volume. They didn’t even open up the extra registers to expedite the traffic. The hostess Contree was sweet and had the most authentic southern belle accent I’ve heard in a while. But she was the only bright spot.
The guy on the grill was downright rude and nasty til we flagged down a manager to let him know. The manager seemed to almost waved off our concerns but did stay close to watch the guy, who suddenly found his deep down niceness while under observation.
The waitress was nice until we didn’t leave quickly enough for her taste… she literally came and took the plate that I was eating from while telling us she can’t leave til we do. I explained to her that we had only been there for an hour and that we had to wait over 35 mins for others in our party to get thru their ridiculous line. She shrugged her shoulders in response… so I kindly collected the $ 20 tip my husband left for her and replaced it with much less.
Overall the place could benefit from better management, more training and strategic planning and scheduling.

I’ve been here countless times, majority of those times, as a teenager with my family after church, at the request of my grandma. Why she loved this restaurant so much, I’ll never know. But whenever the family attended church, she’d suggest we all come & eat here afterwards. And so, we did.
It’s not great; it’s not horrible. The buffet is extensive with items such as macaroni, fried chicken, teriyaki chicken, rice, pizza, numerous veggies, meatloaf, steak, rolls, etc. Seriously, it’s a lot of food.
My last time here was about 3 months ago, and I can’t remember my last time here before that. My biggest complaint about this place would be the customers, but that’s neither here, nor there. I’ve never had a bad item from here. 3 stars.

Food is always good. Usually the staff is great however there are a couple that are always complaining about management. One day they were even trying to get a strike/​walk out going. Then the same girl that said that took tips off of another waiters table. Someone is always watching

Nasty place in the world. I ask the waitress for a glass of water & it came with a roach in it. Never going back!!!

Great service at a great price. Wait staff was extremely friendly and kept the drinks full. Food was great and the atmosphere was good.

Don’t come here on a Sunday. But other then that I love Golden Corral. If I wasn’t watching my figure I would come every day! I usually get the endless steak because I’m a huge meat eater! The only downside is the children running around and picking through the food. I wish they would bring back the amazing prime rib because I would be there every day!

Great food! Great service! Plenty to choose from! Just great all around!
The only downside, and this was only a rare occurrence, was that there appeared to be a birthday party or some type of celebration going on with a lot of extremely loud, disrespectful high school students. The noise was so disturbing, that the manager had to be called to get the noise under control. Once the loud teens left, it was an enjoyable experience.

Awesome food and service again this visit. Family reunion this weekend so over 12 of us went here last Saturday night– the manager — Shane was super efficient and helpful. It was after 9:15pm and he made us all fresh and hot chicken. Excellent and worth the drive to eat here when we get together in austell!!! Yeah ah!!!

Everything here taste great! But the devil eggs avoid those at all cost they are tasteless.

We travel ever weekend with softball. This Golden Corral was by far the best. Meat was cooked perfectly, any kind I tried! Service was super friendly. We will definitely eat here again if in the area.

I eat here 3 – 4 times per week for dinner… steak is great for all you can eat (ask for a little extra seasoning).
The yeast rolls with honey butter will be the death of me, I could eat 10 every time I go.
Plenty of veggies to add variety. I usually go with the cabbage, green beans, black eyed peas, collards, and peppers/​onions.
Great salad bar with plenty of add ons and toppings…
For dessert they have a peanut butter shooter it has a small chocolate cake in it… surprisingly yummy, or you can go for the banana pudding which isn’t all that bad either.
As far as service goes, it’s the only reason I dropped a star… there are several great waiters and waitresses at the austell location, Alex is my favorite, FYI. However, I have ran into a few bad servers or «chefs» that seemed to be uninterested in helping… this can have a lasting effect… especially because on a busy night you can’t choose your seating…
The only other negative I will point out is the small drink selection… only about 6 fountain drinks and sweet tea/water…they do offer «free» coffee.
Overall I keep coming back, it’s great for my low carb diet, because there is plenty of selection to choose from in the no/​low carb variety… try to hit them at 3:45 or so to get the lunch price for dinner…

I felt a little partial to Golden Corral since I worked there years ago, but I actually am liking the new stuff going on with the place. The updates to the food are great. I always liked their steak bar and the fried chicken to note a few but now with the chocolate fountain and the flare they’ve added with the Asian dishes and Latin dishes I just think it is the best all around buffet we have here. I went and will continue to go when I get that all you can eat urge.

Run of the mill restaurant, this place isn’t so great, don’t know why i keep coming here, must be the craving for fried chicken and bland food

It was okay. The place was clean and the wait staff was very attentive.
For the most part, the food was good. I had dinner at 7:30 and they kept things filled and hot. i was very disappointed in their Crab Cake sliders though-​they were very mushy. And the potato skins weren’t potato skins, they were baked potatoes cut in half and sprinkled with cheese and bacon. But there was a good variety of food for a decent price.
A good place to take a group of people that all want something different to eat.

Well, what isn’t to love in this joint? Just like their spot in Dville, this place has a plethora of yummy goodness! The salad bar will be my favorite! They have all the necessary and unnecessary razzle dazzle that you need for one awesome salad! Spinach, strawberries, dried cranberry, sunflower seeds, mushrooms, green bell pepper, bleu cheese crumbles, broccoli, and so much much more. I mainly come here for the salad bar.
However, the hot food bar is also an ooh-​la-​la moment. They got the staples: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pot roast, the works. I mainly go for the fried catfish… sadly they discontinued sea food nights, but I still find plenty of things to keep me happy.
Dessert bar doesnt get too much of a visit from me, but I still think it is amazing. The chocolate pie is so delicious… note: stay away from the mocha cake… asians love mocha cake and this one, pfffttttt— take it off the menu please!!! …
place is clean. servers are friendly. love the food.

Oh such a pig I am.
I left work one Sunday evening so hungry that I really wanted a ton of food. What better place to satisfy that need than the Golden Corral.
Someone called it a fat camp. I called it delish.
I will say they need to rethink the panfried shrimp/​fish line, because it seemed as if it was taking people a while to get their food, only to not have much of it after such a wait.
Cute cute cute is how i described the chocloate founation, even though little nites had made there way into some of the chopped fruit.
It is a fat camp, but somedays you just wanna wear our big gurl panties.

Whoa so things have changed since the last time I went to this location years ago. They’ve increased their prices which is to be expected but it’s not worth it! For an adult dinner it comes to about $ 12 including your drink. My mom and I could have went somewhere else for that amount and came out much more satisfied. The young high school girls they have working the front are not customer service oriented at all. They’ll finish their conversation before they assist you. Are you serious? That is definitely a no no because we’re the customers and we come first. A man that looked like the manager was even talking with them and didn’t bother to greet us and end the conversation. We were kind of just standing there looking like okaaay assist us please.
My mom was very dissatisfied and didn’t leave out full at all. She even stated that some of the food looked like it had been sitting out for a while. She likes the Barrett Pkwy location better. Me on the other hand, I left out full. The food itself was still tasty but my beef brisket had more fat on it then meat. I like fat but I mean one whole half of it was nothing but white fat. I couldn’t eat that.
So basically I’m giving them 2* because I don’t think it’s worth the price, the customer service is bad and my mom’s experience. You can’t leave my lovely mommy unsatisfied, especially since she’s the one who paid! She felt like she wasted her money! We won’t be returning.
