My friend and I were looking for some dinner and happened on this place. What a gem we found! The hummus was great. I was surprised they had boba, which was better than lollicup and the desserts were awesome. All around great experience, the woman working was so pleasant.

Just had the most amazing meal! The food was true comfort food, prepared with tremendous pride. Our company party bought out the restaurant for the evening, and each person attending had nothing but high praise for the exquisite cuisine! Our feast consisted of(please forgive me for not knowing the Russian terms for each dish): tossed salad, pickled vegetables, a ham/potato salad, crepes with potato and mushrooms, vegetable & sausage soup, bread, meatballs, stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, fried vegetables with meat, beef stuff dumplings, and potato dumplings. Definitely must come again!

A little taste of home! Absolutely loved this place. The salmon appetizer, the meat dumplings, the oliver salad… almost as good as my grandma makes it! But, since grandma is in San Francisco, I need tasty Russian food a little closer. Looks like I found my spot. Food tastes home made. Absolutely worth trying if you’re curious about Russian food. And if you are used to Russian food already, you will not be disappointed with this place!

This place is DELICIOUS!!! It is a one woman shop at least when we went there so be patient because it is absolutely worth it! We tried the borscht which was very hearty. The peppers and potatoes(best potatoes I’ve had in along time). You also get free bread and sour cream which may sound odd but it’s quite delicious! Definitely will be back!

Very nice surprise. The presentation and taste of the food was quality. The portion size was also quite fair. We ordered the cheese platter, a bowl of borscht, cabbage meat rolls with mashed potatoes, and a gyro. Some complimentary bread with sour cream was served while we waited for our food. The sweets looked very inviting, but did not order them because we were pretty full from our meal. Please do not let the whimsical décor of the place deter you from trying it — it is a place worth visiting. The customer service was also very welcoming, and if I didn’t live outside the state, I would definitely make this place a repeat. The only slightly negative aspect was the tad longer than average wait for the food, but it was well worth it.

Taking its name and décor from the very popular Russian folktale(not to mention the animated series based on it), Masha & The Bear Sandwich Shop offers a selection of gastronomic highlights from Europe’s(and for that matter Asia’s) largest country. The craveworthy crepes called Blinchiki get the red-carpet treatment at Masha & The Bear, where they’re offered with a number of accompaniments both sweet(honey and jelly, Nutella and mixed fruit) and savory(caviar, Tvorog [the creamy dairy product known sometimes as «farmer’s cheese”]). Alternatively, how about a nice bowl of one of their sterling soups, such as Rassolnik(which gets its zing from pickled cucumbers) or the Georgian-in-origin Kharcho, with a base of ground walnuts and Tklapi [dried plum paste]? Speaking of fruits, vegetables and other miscellanea, you could also sample some so-packed-they’re-almost-tumescent stuffed peppers just bursting with ground meat and rice. And as I’m so fond of saying — or at least inferring — in these reviews, I’m just getting started. One of my favorite plates here is a tangy tempter of stirfried cabbage topped with roast chicken. It’s simple, yet substantial. Similarly, although they might seem like they’d be a bit on the heavy side, you’ll find the eatery’s dumpling creations to be most digestible too, whether you order the ones with minced meat [Pelmeni] or smooth mashed potatoes [Vareniki]. Why not be daring and have an order of each? Oh, c’mon — you know I wasn’t being serious about that last suggestion. After all, if you over-indulge too soon, where are you going to fit in one of their decadent desserts, like multi-layered Medovik [honey cake] or the intensely cocoa-y truffle called Kartoshka, whose name evokes its potato-like shape? And don’t forget to end with a cup of one of the most delicious chocolate mochas I’ve ever had — honest!

My family had the meat dumplings and the cabbage rolls. I had a cup of Turkish coffee. Everything was authentic even down to the Russian cartoons. Absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to come back.

Hospitality at its finest! This place is a great lunch, dinner, and dessert spot. The owner is great and always accommodates to the customers’ requests. I order food from here regularly and enjoy everything I get. Food is always fresh, especially the cream puffs!

Don’t order the new england clam chowder! I love clam chowder, but I should have been more discriminant than to order at a Russian café. It was easy for me to determine that she simply emptied a can of Progressive soup in a bowl and ran the microwave, for which I was charged $ 4.30. It wasn’t all bad. The lady was very sweet and offered free coffee. I also purchased a dessert, which was tasty. I’m not a dessert person but I liked that this wasn’t too sweet and she made this herself.

It is so hard to find a Russian café in the Denver area. It seems that as soon as I find one I like, they close. A friend of mine posted a picture of this place and hubby and I just had to go try it ASAP. Let me just say… Amazing! It’s not a fancy place, there is no line or wait but it is one of those hidden gems. Their Russian dishes are spot on and authentic, something my mom or grandmother would make. They also have some less«exotic» things as well. Hubby got the turkey panini and really enjoyed it. The white mocha was marvelous too. Give these guys a shot, I hope they stick around for a long time.
