My family has a cottage down the road from Bet the Farm, so we frequent the shop quite often in the summer. Nancy, Kit, and Ed are friendly and fabulous. It’s always fun to come into the shop for a tasting and to buy some delicious, unique cheese from a local business. The atmosphere is always warm, casual, and laid back. Love the unpretentious vibe. Ed can always make us laugh with his great stories! Not to mention, the wine is great! My favorite is the traminette, but I do love a glass of their Village White… or the pinot gris… or anything, really.

I visited this small but quaint winery last November and very much enjoyed it. The proprietors were very welcoming and should you make it to Aurora NY, please take the time to stop in.

This is a GREAT place to stop. They’re a little store but they have a lot inside. I recently did a wine and food tasting which was wonderful and I’m not even a wine person. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They carry a great stock of high quality local products from wines –their main focus– to sausage, cheese, sauces, and spreads. You cannot go wrong with a purchase from Bet the Farm.

Tiny shop in downtown Aurora. Loved the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who did a great job entertaining us with facts during our tasting. Even though it didn’t feel like a traditional wine tasting experience at first(being downtown with no vineyards in sight) I was extremely satisfied with everything and bought a nice bottle of a Gewurtztraminer hybrid, as well as some delicious Rosemary shortbread cookies, to take home.

My boyfriend and I visited Bet the Farm during our vacation to the Finger Lakes over President’s Day weekend this year. The proprietors of the tasting store in Aurora, NY won us over immediately with their friendly demeanor and great service. We did the Valentine’s Day tasting special that was a wine tasting /food pairing. Each wine selection was expertly paired with a cheese, nut or chocolate and even a fruit to bring out the flavor of the wine and food perfectly. We ended up purchasing a bottle Twice Noir and Sauvignon Franc that were both nice, light Reds(not a Red region, but these were very good) as well as hot sauce, cheese and curried cashews(delicious!) I would definitely recommend this place to any travelers doing the Cayuga Lake wine trail or staying at the Aurora Inn.
