Having worked in the downtown area for the last decade, I’ve frequented this location dozens of times. Never a remarkably memorable experience but never as bad as the last time. I usually only get chicken nuggets and a baked potato but today I really wanted a salad. I decided on the Asian salad and added a Strawberry Lemonade. According to both the drive-thru and inside menu the Strawberry Lemonade was $ 2.29. When I reached the checkout the cashier gave a total roughly 75 more than my mental math. Card in hand, I asked to review my order. She took my card and as she was talking swiped it. Upon receiving my receipt, I notified her that the menu listed the Strawberry Lemonade as $ 2.29 but she charged me and extra fee. She shoved the bag out the window, said it’s an up charge for strawberries” and left. Appalled, I tapped on the window and corrected her. She huffed and said, «No ma’am. It’s an up charge». I circled back to the drive thru, took a picture and asked for a manager. I explained the situation and he too stated«There’s an up charge for strawberries». I pointed to the menu on the screen AND behind him. He glanced to please me and repeated himself. I asked him to read the exact price from his menu under Strawberry Lemonade … «It says $ 2.29» jumped and looked again. He yelled for someone to go change the boards and handed me a quarter. «Sir, that should be $ 0.79 plus tax». He looked bewildered and a young girl helped him get the correct change. This painful exchange has changed my Wendy’s lunch stop.
