Ok, I’m biased. I’m Augusta born and raised and so is Pyramid. It’s apart of Augusta’s history. Anyone prior to Generation Y knows this was the place you went to when downtown. I swear I can smell the berry incense Flash used to burn as I type this. You were not a downtown kid in Augusta, Ga. and not check out the pictures on the wall of the artist that came to town. If you’re a true music lover and understand the sound value of vinyl then this is the place to visit when looking for the next item in your vinyl collection. If you’re looking for that hard to find media, stop by and see Noura. Get your silver bangles there too!

I come here for event tickets mostly I never actually came here and shopped or looked around, which I should have but I will next time I’m here. I use to always stop here at night and gaze at all the art and posters in the window. At times they have a mix of new and legendary artists in the window. Also you may see some upcoming events advertised in the window also. This is and has been a place where you could find and purchase hard to find or out of print music and videos. I have had friends come here and located a hard to find Diana Ross album. The price was steep but they were happy they found it. I normally find hard to find albums on Amazon or so this place would be my last resort. They also sell jewelry and clothing. Noura, the business owner’s daughter, is normally here when I come in and is always pleasant and willing to help. It wouldn’t hurt to take a peek in here for some of Augusta’s own history.

Came by for a vinyl sale party last friday and they had a DJ using a digital dj system for a vinyl record party(strike 1) who kept play the same songs more than once(strike 2). This is not my 1st time here and have NOT been at this store for a very long time and the fact that there are only less then a handful of music store with vinyl in this area has always had me go elsewhere for my music(online, Atlanta, NYC and Miami) but this is a small«city» and they have been here for a long time. I found a few pieces and asked the DJ to play them for me after waiting for 3 – 5 minutes standing in front of him. So he put the record on and told me he has no headphones to cue up his tracks! Another man had asked to play his record he found i’m not sure if he brought it or not but the prices that they wanted were see the condition of the records were not all that good, so I ended up with 1record for $ 3.00 which was over priced by 45%. Vinyl is making a comeback for alot of people and DJ’s so sorry to say the handful of collectors and local DJ’s they really know where to get the good pieces-online, Rock N Soul records, Fatbeats, etc. Pyramid Music was a great plce for vinyl at one time but now it’s good for Gospel cd’s and African clothing and things of that nature and I MUST give them their props for making an attempt to bring out the vinyl for that one time. A local icon but for real vinyl junkies your fix is not here, at least anymore…

Go see Noura(the business owner)! Looking for something hard to find? She can order it for you. Just tell her 6 or 7 words of the song. The whole family is great and you may catch any one of them working at the store. They’ve been serving the community for over 30 years and you can see the history lined on the store walls as soon as you walk in. Vintage posters, and even photographs from celebrity visits to the store(James Brown, The Notorious B.I.G., etc.). They even have records!
