My husband and I went here last night in search of an affordable but comfortable bed but felt so turned off by the inauthentic, super high-pressure salesperson taking care of us that we walked out of there determined to purchase elsewhere(which we did this morning). It’s not very cool to feel judged by your appearance, and while I understand it’s the job of a salesperson to size you up, having him repeatedly mention marijuana and tattoos because I came in wearing a tie-dye bandanna didn’t feel too great, nor like I was in a very professional setting. Further, when I told him we were really interested in one of the higher-end beds but because it was priced at over $ 4,000 and we live on a moderate income we needed the night to mull over whether we could work the financing into our budget, I thought it was really poor taste for him to continue to try and pressure us repeatedly to make the purchase right then and there. And even worse, when I told this guy that I needed the night to think about it because I come from a history of extreme poverty and chronic homelessness, and would be committing to it as one of the biggest purchases I’d ever made I didn’t appreciate him then going on and on about how he volunteers at a soup kitchen and coincidentally grew up in a shelter, as if that meant I should feel okay with making this huge decision without sound consideration. He literally had some type of personal story that conveniently related to or was almost identical to everything we were telling him about ourselves(stories he told at such length that it turned what would have been a 15 minute trip to a store into almost an hour!). And again, I am no idiot, I understand that it’s the job of a sales person to identify with their customer and to make them feel understood, but this didn’t make me feel understood, it made me feel like I was being sold snake oil. His insistence at not respecting our desire to make a responsible decision showed his lack of understanding not only of us, but what a salesperson should do(make someone feel like they got a deal, not like they had no other choice). And lastly, I just want to say that we found a bed that was absolutely 100% as comfortable as the one he was trying to sell us for less than half the price!!! We ended up at Northern Furniture, supporting a nice family-owned business who completely understood when we told them we needed to shop around a little and mull it over.

I came here to look for a mattress because I just moved up here in Augusta. The customer support I’ve received was outstanding and very promising! If you ever thought about buying a new mattress, look for Corey Allen. He will help you with the best of his abilities and ensures that he will take care of you and make you leave this store with a smile on your face. You will not regret it.
