Tom Matson Auburn Hyundai service is a joke I do not recommend them at all! been in there 5 times now for the exact same issue which I have paid for and came with a 6 month guarantee that they are not honoring anymore because they cannot fix the TPMS. They said today that it was my using the auxiliary port to charge my phone so I unplugged that now they are saying its my cellphone and that all TPMS lights will turn on if a cellphone is in the car. Really? I call B.S. on that I even researched it in extremely rare conditions a charger might cause interference and the fix is to unplug it and in all cases that immediately fixes the issue, mine was already unplugged. And in some other very rare conditions bluetooth might cause interference and I have that deactivated. This is just a B.S. answer to get me stop coming to them because they are idiots. Guess what it worked I am going after them for a refund and going elsewhere.

I tried three times to call them over a weeks time. No answer. I cant see taking my car somewhere that can’t seem to answer a phone.

3 months ago I had my ’07 Dodge Durango for service because when the car is at stop or turning the engine will turn it self-​off. So I went to Tom Matson for service because they took our extended warranty. So they told me they have to order a control panel part and will call me back to get it installed. That was 3 months ago and it’s still an issue.
So I have called several times and have gotten the run-​around that the part was not ordered and did not know any thing about it and will call me back with what they find out. The service manager or part manager would never call me back.
Today I called the service manager and told me we were out of luck because that control panel from Canada cannot be ordered. They should have called us with this information and this would have been done instead it took us 6x’s to call them and get the run-​around. I will never buy a car or get service here again.

I have been coming here for a few years to get my oil changed and had some general services done. The service and work has always been good. They inherited me after Brewer Chrysler closed. I was happy when they put in a Quik Lube lane for oil changes without an appointment. Their website says open till 6pm. However, beware that you have to arrive by 5:30 if they even have time for you. I arrived at 5:35 one time and that was too late in the day. They had already sent the lube tech home. I was offered a free oil change for my efforts after I complained so I took them up on that. About two weeks ago I arrived for an oil change at 5:00 and I was told by the lube tech that he had already clocked out. He was going home and there was nobody else and 3 people had quit. The service desk people were not very excited to wait on me. (seems that everyone wanted to go home…) Several new people there that didn’t know what they were doing and the service manager was not there for me to talk to either. Finally a very nice young man talked to me, but I wanted an oil change and they couldn’t do it that day. I told him if I couldn’t get an oil change could I just get a new battery and have it installed because I knew I needed one. They wouldn’t and couldn’t do that either! They offered me another free oil change if I came back the next day, but I will not go back. Too much time wasted at this place, they have inconsistent service hours!

Had my truck checked because the air bag light came on. Said I needed a $ 500 repair. Did a aftermarket part and didn’t fix the problem. Went back and was charged for same problem again, and they said it needed a module at $ 600. Got mad because they charged me twice for the same problem. Was going to bring my truck down the next day but because they never returned my phone call, I saved about $ 1200 by not having them do it. There was never a problem with either part they said was bad, JUST A LOOSE CONNECTION. Took truck up North to a business that deals with air bags. They fixed it for me and did not charge me anything. I am a senior woman and feel they really went way over the top to SCREW me. Tom Matson and all who work there are money hungry and will do anything to the point of being dishonest. My truck is 14 years old.

Love, love, love their repair shop here. We had not had anything done to our 2 vehicles and decided it was time, 150,000 miles on one and 178,000 miles on the other. The service department here is EXCELLENT! They know their stuff, they call before repairing, their prices were normal and their service was fast! Extremely happy all the way around! We have found our new service department :)

I’m surprised by all the bad reviews. It’s a dealership service center. I don’t know what everyone else expects, but you can expect to sit a little while and you know you’re going to pay more for it to be done correctly. I actually would’ve rated this 4 stars because I have been here a couple of times now and every time was great. The guy at the service desk is smart and knows his stuff. He’s also friendly and can carry on a normal conversation. Now, let’s talk about the 5^th star. This is strictly because the GIRL that works in the service department has a stellar, 5-​star ass. I probably should’ve paid more attention, but I think her name is Jennifer… wow, even if the service sucked, I would come back for a view, but the service was great. I could’ve waited for hours for my oil change on my Hyundai Veloster if I could spend it on that back porch. She’s also very cute all around. Tom sure knows how to pick them. My company is moving to Puyallup, so this will be out of the way for me, but I might still get my lube jobs done here because it’s a 5-​star service center.

Made an appointment to get an oil change. When I arrived they said it would be about an hour until it was done. Which sounded like a long time since I know an oil change takes 20 – 30 minutes, but ok. I took advantage of the shuttle service and went to get a pedicure a couple miles down the road.
OVER TWO HOURS LATER and I have yet to hear from the dealership. I call and my car is done, no one bothered to inform me. Then I could not get someone to come pick me up from the salon. I called at least 5 times, only to be put on hold and never picked up again, transferred around to departments, put on hold but accidentally sent to voicemail, told someone was coming (who never showed). Finally the shuttle arrives. I feel terrible saying this, but the shuttle driver was so smelly I had to roll down the window and stick my nose in my latte to keep from gagging. Two and a half hours later I am finally leaving the dealership, now in the middle of Friday rush hour traffic. What’s the point of making an appointment if clearly it doesn’t serve you any purpose?
I will NOT be back.

I wish I was smart enough to read the reviews of this place before I checked my car in…
I was here for 2 hours to get the rear lights on my Jeep fixed. It is a $ 125 diagnose fee/​hourly charge for labor. I was told I would get talked to at the 1 hour mark so that way I wouldn’t have to pay for the extra hour if it wasn’t worth it and guess what? I never was talked to, paid 2 hours worth of labor and all it needed was a rubber wire connector and a new fuse. If I was talked to at the hour mark, I would have done it myself and saved the extra money.
Long story short, I will never be back to this dealership and will he going to the Jeep dealer in Puyallup instead.

My review seemed to have disappeared.
Avoid doing business here at all costs.
People are shady and con’s. Someone in the sales staff must be sleeping with the HR person in a real company you would never get away with half the stuff that I’ve over heard while sitting in the service waiting area.

CROOKS! Granted I don’t usually post reviews when I am emotional but I am so hopping mad I simply cannot wait. I bought my Hyundai Sonata at Tom Matson in 2011 and have been having it serviced there ever since. At some point the service department completely changed and not for the better however I only used them for oil changes so dealt with it. Last week I received a notice for a few recalls so I took it in to have it serviced today. Then I get a call from the technician Bryson who left me a message with a long list of things I needed to get fixed/​changed. Two of which were an in-​cabin air filter and an engine air filter which he described as «filthy». I found this quite fascinating considering I had changed both of these myself just the day before!!! How dare they! My statement clearly states that the filters were «inspected» which quite obviously they were not. So I go to get my car and I am visibly mad. I talk to Gus in the service department expecting an answer and all he says is, «Oh I think he was going off of what you would be scheduled for being at 60k.» Seriously? That’s your defense? It says that they were ‘INSPECTED”. What else did you not «Inspect» but recommended. You also said I need a transmission flush, is that too just another way to take my money? Not only did they not take responsibility for clearly trying to rip me off but then tried to blame the tech! I will never, ever take my car here again and will do whatever I can to make sure no one else deals with them either!

First I will start by saying that I’ve been to their Hyundai dealership about two years ago, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had trying to buy a car. Ended up buying from Kirland Hyundai and got the car I wanted for about 3k less than what Tom Matson was offering despite all the negotiations.
My main reason for doing a review here today is because I happened to go here for service. I went in for a simple oil change. I called to confirm the time of my appointment, and was told that there are no appointments, and the Hyundai service was closed on weekends. The woman instructed me to go to the Dodge dealership when I come down for the oil change.
I arrived and went inside to the service desk, told them I had an appointment, and the guy looked at me like I was stupid or something, and made me go stand outside in front of a small desk where I had to wait for someone to show up and get things going.
I told him I had my own oil I wanted to use, and that it was on the back seat. I also had a $ 25 gift card that Hyundai had sent in the mail, which can be used for service, parts, and accessories. He said I could use this, no problem. When I had previously made my appointment a few days prior, I was told that oil changes are $ 19.99 if you use your own oil.
After about 45 minutes, they came to give me my keys, and told me to take some paperwork to the cashier. I assumed I would just check out there, and there would be no charge since my $ 25 card should exceed whatever taxes were added onto the $ 19.99.
Well they wanted to charge me an extra $ 12. I looked puzzled and explained I had used a $ 25 card from Hyundai. So she sent me back over to the service desk where I talked to a short asian guy, I explained that I was being charged $ 12 extra when I was quoted $ 19.99 if I use my own oil. He explained that the mechanics did not use my oil, and instead put pennzoil (crappy oil) into my car.
He adjusted the price for me, which I did appreciate, and made it so there would not be an extra cost. Ok that’s fine.
I left and came back a few hours later after thinking about it some more and discussing things with my Dad who was also a mechanic. He suggested it was a bad idea to keep that oil they put in, when the car has had synthetic Mobile 1 oil since I purchased it. So he told me, go back and have them put your oil in.
So I did, I went back and asked if they could drain the oil and change it to my oil. They did agree, but their was attitude written all over the faces of both the short asian guy and the lady that was next to him.
The mechanics were nice about it, and didn’t seem to mind, after they gave her back the key, she coldly handed it to me and was like «there you go» and then walked off.
I was going to write a positive review here because they were nice enough to see that the initial person who took down my info and my car keys for the oil change did not bother to tell the mechanics that I wanted to use my own oil, and so they adjusted the price. However, I will probably never go back here again, not only because of the lack of communication, but because of the crappy attitude these service advisors had over the whole thing.
For people that are working in customer service, there should be a smile across your face from ear to ear, instead of acting like it somehow pains your rear end because I came back and asked you to do what I wanted done originally in the first place.
Not to mention the fact that they were also unwilling to change out the filter again, so I’m still stuck with about a quart of their crappy pennzoil in my car.
I will also note that when I left the first time, the service advisor ran out to where the mechanics were, and yelled at them over not using my oil. What she failed to realize is that it wasn’t the mechanics fault. It was the dolt who was running the little desk outside the service department who never told them to use it in the first place.
Never again… and I hope those mechanics didn’t get in some kind of trouble, because they were more than nice about having to redo it.

I can completely understand the bad reviews. This place is in it for the money not repeat business or customer service. My husband has taken our new Jeep here for the oils changes and only here but the last time there was a little surprise on the bill a charge for $ 10 for a new oil plug. When he confronted the cashier she said that the old one was stripped and probably over tightened. He kindly reminded them that it was their technicians who changed it last time. Her response was that these things happen and that it’s probably due to the material the plug is made of and proceeded to charge him for it. I can’t believe the flippant attitude. We will NOT be coming back!

I recent had a new engine installed and wanted to get a second opinion on the work so I paid for an 120 dollar inspection. They told me of an oil leak, p\s hose leak and that I should get both the transmission and diff serviced.
what they completely skipped was that the engine was missing 3 bolts to hold the transmission inspection cover and the engine mounting bolts were all loose. very obvious issues that I saw afer doing my next oil change. dont trust them.

We’ve used the service dept. off and on for about 10 years. We bought the car there and were not happy with the selling department but the service department has always been okay until now. Like I always do I scheduled an online appt to get an oil change, I got a call at 0750 the next day saying 10:00 is fine and if that didn’t work bring it in anytime. WRONG. I get there this morning at 10 and I greet the guy at the express desk and tell him I have a 10 for oil change and he tells me there aren’t appointments and is very rude. I told him I scheduled it last week, I got a confirmation call and he cuts me off again telling me he doesn’t know who who do that because they don’t do that and they switched to express a week and a half ago. I’m getting very crabby by this point as I set my whole day around the time frame of the appt I thought I had. He rolls his eyes and is snide about the coupon I am using because the service department emailed it to me and takes my keys. an hour later my car still hasn’t been touched. I checked with the suited guy and he checks on it for me and tells me it’s next and it’ll be about 15 minutes after they take it back it should be done. I wait about 10 more minutes and it is now 11 o’clock. I walked out and told the exprss guy that I just couldn’t wait any longer, could I please get my car and he just says «keys are in it» and goes about his business. My oil changes could be free and I would never return to this service department. Horrible customer service!!!

Terrible… I’d rate their service department lower if I could but 1 star is as low as it goes. Called yesterday to try to make an appointment. Receptionist sounded disinterested and said the have an express oil service and I can just stop in. My wife stops in and they say it’s a 2 hour wait… WTF? What happened to their express service? Screw this place. I will not be coming back here for ANYTHING.

If you’re like me, you’re thinking, «It’s the dealer, so how bad can it be?»
That’s what I thought when I went to get a replacement key for my Chrysler. When I bought the car used, I only received the gray valet key. After a couple of years with just that key, and a couple of years with the alarm going off occasionally, I decided it was time to get a real, fully functioning key.
Here’s where that thought comes in, «how bad can it be?». I read the one-​star reviews and thought, well, it’s only a replacement key. They can’t screw that up.
I asked for a fully functioning key, since I only had the valet key. 45 minutes later (not too bad), they present me with a second valet key. WTF? «Oh, you should have asked for a key FOB. That’s different.»
Well, who needs two valet keys? No one in America, that’s why cars are sold with two fully functioning keys (fobs, apparently), and only ONE valet key. What’s really disappointing is that I explained to the service person before they made the keys that I needed one that is fully functioning, but she never presented the option of a «fob». So, nice lady, am I stuck with this key? «Yup».
$ 138.52 later, and I still can’t turn the alarm off, or open the back hatch with the key. If I need to valet park twice, though, I’m covered.
Yes, the dealer IS that bad. Drive the extra miles to some other Chrysler/​Jeep/​Dodge/​Fiat/​Smart/​Imported From Detroit dealer, and get it done right the first time. The second star was given because the $ 138.52 valet key does actually work.

This is the ultimate bad experience. Don’t worry, nobody got hurt. The service department (this time) are the losers. They are VERY inept. Of course, backing salespeople who are just flat out liars doesn’t help.
Okay, so I called ahead and brought my 2005 PT Cruiser in for a tune-​up. I didn’t ask the price on the phone, and I did bring a coupon that gave me $ 15. per hundred spent. The guy that helped me inside was a light-​skinned African American, young, nice build, shirt and tie. No name tag. The cost was going to be $ 344 (minus the discount). !!! Ouch. But I wanted my car to be humming again, not much time, took the day off from work to get this done. Ok, do it. I’ll wait and use the wifi while there.
While waiting, I saw employees in service griping about people on the phone, customers who «didn’t know their ass from their elbow», «Joker wants a tow but doesn’t have it on their plan», etc. Loud enough for passing customers to hear these complaints.
I also heard the customers in the waiting area. One woman was there 5 hours, and when they brought her car out, she got in and it wouldn’t start! She was furious, upset, and very frustrated. Another guy told me he just bought a truck and was promised that the dealership would help him hook up his cell phone and truck so he could use that technology, as part of his purchase deal. Then when he came in the previous Saturday, they told him that they would gladly do it for him for $ 499.00 etc etc. He said he blew a gasket (pun) and said no way, they promised him in the deal and they had to honor that. Now he was back to get that done. I told him if he had a choice, he should get his truck and run, run now.
Finally, after being there 3 hours (I had some work to do on my laptop, so I was busy most of that time) I went to the service desk to see where my car was. The dude who had checked me in had seen me there, made eye contact with me a couple of times during those 3 hours, so I knew I was in good hands, right? When the woman said she would check on my car, she calmly turned back to me and said, oh, they haven’t started it yet. I’m pausing here because that is what I did at the counter. I paused, and probably turned purple, I was so bullshit. And the guy that helped me showed up and I let into him. Their explanation, oh, he didn’t say you were waiting for the car so they didn’t start yet.
I don’t think I can or need to write anything more here. Just that I asked for the service Manager, but Mike Powers was not in, Monday or Tuesday, but he’d be back on Wednesday. I told them to get me my f — ing car and the keys. The service guy said he was sorry, it was all his fault, and to give him a break, as it was only his 3^rd week there. I told him that it might be his last.
But, after reading these other reviews, he might not lose his job. It seems like Tom Matson Chrysler Dodge Jeep looks for and hires salespeople who lie, and service people who don’t give a shit. They clearly ridiculed customers who had called, to their colleagues, and could not give a care that I had wasted so much time and gotten zero for it. I felt so bad for that lady with a car that would not start.
Good things: wifi, and nice snack bar. But DO NOT buy your car there, or have it serviced there.

This is the dealer I purchased my Jeep from and wanted to keep it for service, but after my last two visits for the same problem I will not be back anytime soon. I went in because of a water leak. They performed their check and with some information I found on line they cleared the sunroof drains. That did not fix the problem with water on my dashboard. I took it back after discovering it when it rained and after having it another day and a half they told me the windshield seal was leaking and I would probably have to replace the windshield as well. Fortunately I took it somewhere else and they found the problem to be a screw missing on the door frame to body.
