I usually love this restaurant chain but this location is awful. Worst service ever. Rude waitress named Kim. Didn’t enjoy the pasta I always order, it was super watery & the presentation was gross. She made us pay for half even though we weren’t satisfied & we didn’t even eat it. That’s horrible customer service in my opinion. Not only did she make us pay for it, she wasn’t even considerate of their shitty food they served. She was so rude it was uncalled for. Not a bad restaurant, just a bad location. Don’t go here.

OK, middle of the road quality of the food, however if there are more than a couple people in the restaurant the services, while friendly, is painfully slow. Been like that for as long as the place has been open.

Our Friday night choice for take-out pizza. IMO, best pizza in Auburn. Quality toppings, hand-tossed pizza dough, always tastes fresh. Calimari is also very good. And, very comfortable dine-in, with friendly staff.

We stopped here for lunch with a group of 12 of us. We were seated and served quickly, our service was great, and the food was delicious. We ordered a few salads and the artichoke chicken/white sauce, all meat, and plain cheese pizzas. Pizza sauce, crust and toppings were excellent. Restaurant dining area and women’s restroom were nice and clean. We will definitely visit again when back in town

Very fast friendly service! I always order the chicken avocado club with garden salad on the side. It is ALWAYS good! And it is enough to bring home half a sandwich. Definitely a good stop for dinner or lunch!

Maybe it is just me but the pizza I had this evening had a crust that was a mix between cardboard and cracker bread. Dry, stiff and the type you don: t eat the edge. And I always eat the edges. Always! Not this time. My garden salad was ho-hum, just like the type you get at Denny’s when you’re forced to eat there traveling in the Midwest. Service was attentive. Interior clean. But too many others places to try so I won’t be back.

Used to eat here quite a bit, but the last couple of times turned me off a little. Ordered appetizers but they seemed to be pre frozen. Service okay. The owners are usually there, but not overly friendly. I do love their dinner salads and pasta dishes. A little extra effort by this place would go a long way.

Had the pizza here and I wasn’t impressed at all, I’m no pizza snob, but it was no better than a chain pizza restaurant.

I came here at 5:00 pm on a Saturday evening, coming back from Lake Tahoe. Knowing the Eldorado Hills Pete’s Restaurant and Brewhouse had never failed me(read my review), I was excited to see this establishment in Auburn. Unfortunately I didn’t read the reviews, because most of the unpleasant experiences that were reviewed here are rock solid. This place is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had, and am red from embarrassment for having bragged to my gf and her sister what a pleasant experience they would have at this place. We ordered 2 appetizers, the knots came 3 minutes before our bill, and our combination platter that I’m used to being top notch was absolute trash. We were served 3 of everything, 1 piece per item for 3 of us. Which would be equal to about $ 1.75 per onion ring, jalapeño popper, and chicken strip. Our dinners consisted of a $ 12 salad that was as plain as a bag of salad you’d buy from a grocery store, a few croutons thrown on top, a medium pizza that was less than mediocre, and customer service that easily rivals Denny’s. Don’t waste your time or your money, if you feel like having diarrhea while getting crapped on there’s a Sizzler literally down the street.

Really disappointing! Just got home from dinner with an empty wallet, empty stomach and mounting irritation. Our family went there for the first time and, while the atmosphere was nice and the server was friendly… everything else was horrible. We waited nearly 15 minutes for crackers for my(screaming) kiddo. My salad sat on the bar for 10 minutes before it was brought to our table, the steak was cold My $ 14 salad consisted of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, a few beans, a few crumbles of blue cheese and steak, cold steak. It was the size of an appetizer salad, with cold steak. Our waitress brought the wrong dressing, twice and I had to wait for approx. 10 minutes before they brought it the first time. My daughter’s food was luke-warm I ordered a meatball for another one of my kids, it was piping hot on the outside and cold in the center. Evidently the microwave wasn’t on full power. I told my server the meatball was cold, she returned 15 minutes later with the same meatball(cut in half); I was still charged for the meatball… that my daughter never ate… because it took nearly 25 goddamn minutes to get a luke warm meatball to our table. The cook brought my husband the wrong entrée. We waited 10 minutes for his pizza after the rest of our entrees were served. All told, it was a horrible experience that we paid $ 53.48 for. My husband and I are normally very generous tippers but not this time. ZERO… YOUGETNOTHINGORIGINALPETE’S…WORSTDININGEXPERIENCEEVER!

Called in an order for a couple pizzas. We were told 15 to 25 minutes. Arrived 25 minutes later to find they hadn’t even been started. Another five minutes passed before they got them going. The place was nearly empty so can’t blame on short staffing. I’m thinking poor management. Staff was running around, seemingly confused about what their function was. Will not return. This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to right a review. Extreme disappointment Another 20 minutes we have pizza. Should of just said 45 to an hour…

Very disappointed and upset frankly. We were evacuated from our house yesterday because of a fire and went to Folsom to wait it out with family. We were able to come home last night finally and hadn’t eaten yet. My wife is 6 months pregnant and we were very tired. The sign on the door said open till 9pm. It was 8:30 on a Saturday. There were 4 or 5 tables of people eating inside, but they told us they were closed. I said the sign says open til 9 and she came out and pointed to Sunday. I said its Saturday. She said something like«I guess we can seat you then» We said no thanks we were very offended. I feel like they just wanted to close early. Thanks a lot. This was very unprofessional. Not going back.

Our third time here and becoming our usual spot on our way up to Truckee. Cold beers help as the AC must have been on the fritz. The minestrone soup is excellent.

Our coast-to-coast road trip encompassed over 4,000 miles, 21 states, 13 days and we spent the night in ten different cities. But Auburn’s Original Pete’s represented our last meal(for dinner that day we’d have salads from Trader Joe’s — as we realized that it was time to count calories once again). But this was a great place to have the last meal — we both ordered, and polished off, pizzas, attended to by a proprietor who seemed to know when to come and when to leave us alone(oftentimes the latter is disturbingly difficult to achieve). Given the last meal status, we deemed it necessary to order a dessert, and it was well worth it. While we didn’t arrive to this strip mall until after 2PM, this location seemed happening enough. Even made up for the 100+ F weather we encountered upon leaving the joint. My only regret is that because we had a good amount of driving to do afterwards, I couldn’t enjoy one of their brews.

We had a fantastic 80th birthday party for my dad here. The food selection was great and everyone enjoyed the meal. Mike handled everything smoothly and was very accommodating. I would recommend this place for a special event any time.

Original Pete’s Pizza in Auburn is part of a local chain of Pizza/beer restaurants, featuring an extensive pizza menu and house brews. The menu, which includes basics such as salads, pizza bread twists and wings, is similar in all restaurants. The restaurant is just east of the Foresthill exit, along I-80. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after hiking in the area, choosing Pete’s partly due to its convenient freeway frontage location. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is just fine for a casual meal. We were offered tastings of the draft beers(who’s gonna say no?), settling on the house IPA. Using the Unilocal check-in got us a free small order of twists, which are a must at any pizza restaurant to kill those hunger pangs. The food? Straight down the middle good with no complaints. We got our meal and were on our way in short order.

My gran really loves the Cobb salad here. She says it’s the best in town — I wouldn’t know, I’m not a Cobb salad fan. We’re pretty much on the way to being regulars here, and it’s a weird joint. They sometimes have decent Indian food as a special, which I really appreciate since Auburn lacks an Indian restaurant and sometimes a girl doesn’t want to have to drive to Roseville for samosas. There’s one really sweet and good at her job server here, but god help you if she’s overwhelmed or you wind up with someone else. The food is solid and I’d rather go here than Max’s. The only thing keeping this a solid three star review is how unbelievably annoyed I am right now at being forced to listen to/watch football. This isn’t a sports bar. I don’t care if you feel the need to have freaking tvs, but for God’s sake, keep them on mute and give us music!

Both times I’ve been here in the last couple months I have been very happy with the service and the food. Their Chicken Combo Pizza is tasty and they didn’t have any issue accommodating modifications, even going as far as pointing out which side had what. The manager is a definite«working manager», who is personable and helpful. Try their Chicken and Avocado Club– very good, and the burgers I saw going to the neighboring table got oo’s and ah’s. Also, I was VERY impressed with the employees hand-washing and cleanliness practices. This is a nice place for lunch or dinner, and they deliver up to a five mile radius in Auburn.

We stopped here for a late lunch despite the 2-star reviews on Unilocal. No regrets. Certainly not outstanding but it is a step above Denny’s or Carrow’s. We had no problems with our server or service. We had good interaction and prompt service. I had the turkey avocado club with a side of potato salad. The potato salad was tasty and the sandwich had a good helping of meat and nice thick slices of avocado on a slightly crunchy roll. My dining partner had the Cobb salad. She said it was loaded with goodies and very tasty. She would order it again. Comfortable and warm interior with a couple of tv’s hanging from the walls. And the best thing… they are located just a few feet from Scoop’s Ice Cream Shop! :)

I definitely wouldnt go as far as to say Original Petes is a one or two star eatery… Sure, they’re pretty average, but by no means are they bad or in the 2 star range. My family really enjoys stopping here to grab lunch on our way up to Tahoe/Reno. I will admit, they’re definitely a bit more enthused about the food than I, but I really have nothing to complain about. If they’re happy, I’m happy. Grandma raves about the sandwich/salad lunch special, which for $ 8 is truly a whole lot of food. The rest of the menu is moderately priced as well with everything falling around the $ 10 range. Service is good and efficient. An ok place to try if you’re in the area and want something thats a step up from your typical fast food lunch
