Cozy setting, friendly atmosphere, super friendly staff. Came here with my mom to pick up ten Thai chicken burritos. While we were waiting got the fish tacos. Free drinks and ended up getting a free burrito! Loved this place, will definitely go back Thai chicken burrito — bursting with flavor, unique taste for a burrito. Not your classic Thai or Mexican flavor but simply delicious.

Under a new name *Burrito Jalisco* Food: I enjoyed my meal here! I ordered two baby tacos with Spanish rice. The Carne Asada meat was tender and the grilled chicken was well marinated. I wish I took a picture to show how much Spanish rice I was given; it filled more than half the plate! The chips were not stale as some other reviewers had mentioned. They should refill the salsa bar but otherwise the food was very good! Cleanliness: I always judge a restaurant by how clean the bathroom is. This one could have used some help. The trash can was overflowing and there were napkins everywhere. There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant when we walked in either. However, the restaurant was clean; tables, floor and chip/salsa area. Service: food came out incredibly fast and the cashier was very friendly. It definitely felt like a mom and pop shop! Totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick bite to eat in the area.

This place is Amazing. Small cozy setting. Friendly service. The owners have been so nice to us every time we have come in. My husband and I love the California burrito and the salsa bar has so many options.

Hands down, the best chili relleno I have EVER had. The service was kind and accommodating, and the chef even interceded make sure we got exactly what we wanted(and more)! The green and chipotle salsa were also yummy — there’s some heat on the chipotle! Whew! We will definitely be back!

This was a sub par burrito. It was super greasy, even the tortilla. The beans had a lot of lard and little flavor. I wouldn’t get a burrito here again.

First and last time I tried The Burrito shop this year. I use to like The Burrito Shop. The staff is nice. Salsa is very good. Food taste is okay. The problem is I order A taco salad to go. And it had very little lettuce this time and very wet. Looked like a bean and meat dish. El Portal Taqueria and even Taco Tree are better choices.

What the… this place is THABOMB! The fish tacos are the best around and I’m a FishTacoNazi!!! I just walked in here to grab a quick taco and the place WAY exceeded my expectations. The Salsas are homemade right there. I don’t usually do salsa but I couldn’t stop eating their Chipotle and the Mild Salsa. The Carne Asada tacos were cool, but the FISHTACOS… man! Try em. You’ll see.

Great one stop fast food place, I believe I was given fair portions and they have a chip and salsa bar. Fair prices and friendly service.

This was the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Chips were old and hard. Burritos were nothing but white rice. I’ll never go back

Stopped by here on our way home from a family camping trip in Tahoe. The good: Staff was nice and informative, and the place was clean. The guy at the register gave me a very generous sample of the hibiscus drink when I asked what it was – like he promised, it wasn’t too tart and I enjoyed the beverage. I also thought the salsas at the chip bar were decent – my favorite was the mild green. The meh: I got the tamale plate(with beans and rice), my sister ordered the crispy taco plate, and my brother-in-law got a burrito. We all thought the meat seasoning was pretty bland for all orders, and I didn’t like the red sauce on my plate, but with the sour cream and a good amount of green salsa, I was able to eat most of it. The random movie: There was a TV with an older movie playing… a very young Michelle Pfeiffer was in it: Ladyhawke. I guess it’s nice to have something to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon while eating a quick meal, even if you can’t hear the audio and it’s not the best movie. Would I visit again? Probably not, unless I wanted to have more of that hibiscus drink or try their taco special. There’s better tasting Mexican food in Sacramento.

Great tacos, clean, and nice staff. My favorite place for tacos in Auburn area… They have a .99 cent tacos deal everyday from 3 – 6.

I gave this place four stars because of our history more than their performance on this particular occasion. Honestly, not a lot of flavor on the steak ranchero burrito and my Chile relleno burrito had almost no cheese in it. If there’s no cheese, what is the point in living? This made me sad since I used to live in San Francisco and my family was in Reno so I would stop by here religiously and I had always been satisfied… until today.

We discovered this place a few years ago and have been coming back ever since. Great food, good prices, Chips/salsa bar. Tasty refried beans. Friendly people in the kitchen. Always a pleasant experience ;). The only thing missing is some freshly brewed ice tea.(trying to avoid soda!)

I use to come here all the time and it was great… However things have changed. I ordered the Acupulco… There was not much flavor and I was disappointed. My boyfriend had a chicken burrito and and he said the chicken tasted like canned chicken! I don’t think we will be going back!

What’s with the girl advertising her own salsa in the previous review? Er, weird… This place is just another example of folks not rating a business for what it has to offer. They make large and tasty burritos and full Mexican plates here. The flavor is well balanced with plenty of spice, and I really enjoy their green and red salsa. The employees are always courteous and grateful, and if they’re not to busy will walk your meal out to you and ask how your food is(even though this is a «call the order out when it’s ready» atmosphere). I’m not entirely sure what folks are comparing a little hole in the wall place like this with, but the owner«Fily» and his employees do a very good job for the type of small business that this is. I have never witnessed anything other than prompt, thoughtful service and sanitary food prep/delivery. Honestly, it’s a real sweet little spot that also makes for an inexpensive take-out option.

The Burrito Shop is a taqueria version of Taco Bell, barley decent and quick, but nothing to Unilocal about. Food: Burritos are fairly large, but the meat and beans are just okay. The salsa bar is small and limited and the other items my party odered left most members disappointed. Ambinace: Clean but forgettable. Service: Probably the best part, employees were really nice and food cme out fairly quickly. Price: Under $ 10 a person Overall: Worth trying once to see if you like it.
