As someone else said, this place has been consistently good. It is pricy in the evenings, but at breakfast and lunch they have a buffet that is more reasonable(I think lunch buffet is $ 15). A good place for a special evening out.

Worst steak I’ve ever had… gristly & over cooked. The service was okay but the food was horrible… and I’m not a picky eater!

I’ve eaten at Ariccia several times and it never ceases to amaze me, breakfast, lunch, or dinner! While staying at the hotel, we ate Ariccia for breakfast one morning. I had the frittata and my husband had the egg meal, both of which were delicious. The coffee was flowing and it was a relaxing morning for us. For dinner, we tried the corn flat-bread pizza and it hit the spot. Just the right amount of food and amazing flavors! I HIGHLY recommend stopping by Ariccia on a Tuesday night for the pasta bar… you will want to go back every Tuesday!

Big city prices without big city quality and service. Food and drinks are very expensive, but the atmosphere is nice. The main issue is service quality. My wife and I have been here numerous times for dinner in Arricia and drinks in Piccolo. Servers rarely know the menu, especially for the bar and the service painfully slow. I don’t mind slower service if the price and quality make it worth while. That is not the case here. My wife ordered a house salad which was described as having mixed greens. She was served a salad with iceberg lettuce and was still charged the same $ 8 price. After asking about the lettuce, the server then admitted that they ran out of mixed greens and didn’t bother to tell us. For a place that attempts to be a high end urban experience, it definitely falls short(beyond just the salad issue). A better option is The Hound.

My husband surprised me with an Auburn trip for our Valentine’s weekend getaway. Included in the Hotel at Auburn University package were supper and breakfast at Ariccia, the on-site restaurant. I’ve eaten their delicious breakfast buffet before, so I knew we would enjoy our breakfast there. The dinner was worth the drive from Birmingham! The warm atmosphere, quiet music, and quaint setting made the perfect place for the delicious meal delivered. We both found the«fin» a little less perfect than the«hoof,» but that’s only because the steak was so fabulously prepared! Next time, I’ll order steak and not both meat choices. The dessert bar carried out the holiday theme, leaving me too many selections(really? too much chocolate?). Their pricey menu was OK only because it was a special occasion. But there are always special occasions to celebrate in Auburn!

My family and I visited Arricia’s for the first time tonight. The pasta bar was delicious and everything was so fresh! Bobby and Chante were our servers and were very friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

Ariccia is part of the Hotel at Auburn University. At night it’s an upscale Italian restaurant but it does double duty as a more casual breakfast and lunch restaurant, especially for hotel guests. It’s a warm and inviting atmosphere. We only enjoyed breakfast a couple of mornings and both times we chose the breakfast buffet. Even though it’s a little pricey at $ 15.50, the buffet has lots of options, including an omelet bar and was an easy way to order. The only thing missing was oatmeal. And since it is part of the hospitality program at Auburn University, staffing is almost entirely by students. Service is attentive and above par. Ariccia is a nice restaurant and worth a visit, even if you’re not staying at the adjoining hotel.

The sitting area was well appointed. We were seated exactly at our reservation hour which was a plus. We had the christmas menu selection. The appetizers were very nice. Well seasoned and gave us high hopes for the main meal. The steak was seasoned well but tough, the quail stuffing was good but both sides were cool on arrival to the table. The pumpkin cheesecake was the best thing served tonight. The moscow mule was good but the bellini was unpleasant enough make me send it back. At the end of the night, i was told it could not be removed from the bill becase they can’t do that. So I was charged for a drink i could not drink!!! Every restaurant knows that’s poor customer service… shame on you!!! Not sure we would give this restaurant another chance.

I’m on a college visit with my son and we waited to try this place out. Emily the server is awesome. She deserves a raise. Great server. We engaged in great conversation and she was very nice. Great food, great drink and great service. I highly recommend this place for the food but primarily the service is outstanding.

Terrible service! Over prices and over salty meal. My son waited 2 hours for a grilled cheese! Very disappointing experience, such a great location– too bad– we will not be back!

As an Auburn student and major foodie, I’ve found myself at Arricia several times and not once has it left me wowed. I wouldn’t have come back after my first intentional visit but there were times that people were visiting and wanted to try it out. It’s about as consistent as Olive Garden and the servers have never been friendly. The create your own pasta night was something I went to and I’ll never forget when the chef told me I couldn’t mix any of the sauces together? Who says that? The only thing that’s getting this two stars is the brunch which is mediocre at best. Arricia needs to step it up.

I ate here several times during graduation week — breakfast and lunch buffets only. Note: I brought my toddlers… mistake. While the staff is incredibly accommodating(there’s high chairs, kid’s cups, and kid-friendly food options), and the other patrons are gracious and friendly — I’d definitely leave my animated kiddos at home next time. It’s an upscale, quiet environment = not geared for rowdy kiddos, even during buffets. For groups: We had a party of 10 for lunch, and it’s a great place for groups — very accommodating and highly recommended(pricey though. It can be quite difficult during busy times/events to get them on the phone, so make your group reservations early. Good variety of «healthy» food items. The lunch buffet is overpriced. Sweet iced tea is not very good.

I brought my son to Auburn on a college visit and we ate here our first night in town because it was listed in a visitors guide as one of the top 10 local places to eat. First off, the place is beautiful and the staff is exceptionally friendly. We asked to be seated where we could watch the game as we came during march madness. They were very accommodating and the location was perfect. We both wanted the salmon on a plank that we saw in a picture, but they no longer offer that dish since they have a new chef. They did say they could make us a blackened salmon and vegetables. So we ordered that. Mine came with grilled asparagus and my son’s came with grilled yellow squash, zucchini and mashed sweet potatoes. Every thing was fantastic! But there was a problem; each salmon filet was about 3 ounces. I got 4 or five asparagus. My son got 6 or 7 slices of zucchini and squash and maybe a tablespoon of mashed sweet potatoes. We each had a salad as well. All of this and a glass of water and one glass of wine came to $ 75. I tipped $ 15 because the service was excellent, but for $ 90, I would never go back. I had to take my son for a smoothie after we left because he was still starving. So overall nice experience, but disappointing finish.

After many hours of traveling, I stopped into Ariccia for dinner because I was staying at the Hotel. I have to say, I thought it was a bit strange that the hostess brought me to a table and then asked, «Is this okay, or do you want something farther back?» I appreciate her asking, but it seemed strange as I’d already seated myself at the table. I will say, however, that I really enjoyed the ambiance. It was dark(but not too dark) and cozy, wasn’t too loud and I didn’t feel like I was accidentally eavesdropping on anyone or vice versa because the tables were nicely spaced apart. I also had a nice view of the kitchen area, which I always find enjoyable. I was quickly served some rosemary bread with olive oil and cracked pepper. Unfortunately the bread was dry and seemed almost stale, but thankfully the olive oil made it edible. My server was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. I am lactose intolerant, so I will admit going into an Italian restaurant was probably a bit silly on my part, but she was able to point out which items were dairy free or could easily be modified to be dairy free. I settled for the tagliatelle which has a lovely and not overpowering pesto with pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes and a few sprigs of broccolini. Overall, despite a few polishes here and there, I really enjoyed my meal and my experience at Ariccia. I don’t know that I’d go out of my way to return, but if I am ever visiting Auburn and staying at the Hotel, I’d certainly consider it for the convenience if nothing else.

The servers were very friendly, but the overall experience was very disappointing. Very, very high prices and small portions. Slow service as well. Had a group of 8, we ate at 6:30 and we got our checks returned and paid at 9:05. Just over 2.5 hours is excessive. Had the salmon, which was very bland. Most of the pasta dishes sampled were pretty tasty, just very small in portion size for $ 15 – 25. The appetizers(the bruschetta-like menu item is bread served with a tomato-salsa type concoction) were very tiny and quite disappointing as well. I appreciate the attempt at fine dining… the slow service, bland food, and lack of «bang for the buck» just drive this down to 2 stars. If the prices included salad, sides, or an appetizer; I think that would be much more reasonable, but they do not.

Disappointing experience. Overall, I think this place is completely over-rated and we won’t be back. We came here for dinner and were sat at the worst table in the house, despite there being plenty of other tables open. The server was slow with everything from drinks to bread to menus. The menu was extremely unclear and our server spent no time explaining it(e.g., the section called ‘flour and water’ is both pasta and pizza, with only 3 words describing each dish so you couldn’t tell them apart). She seemed annoyed when I had so many questions, so I ended up taking a shot in the dark and ordering tortellini. My boyfriend ordered the pork, and I watched it sit under a heat lamp for about 10 minutes, so it wasn’t a surprise that it was completely dry and tough. He sucked it up and ate it because he was so hungry he didn’t want to wait any longer(we’d already been there for 45 minutes or more). My tortellini was a complete joke, and I promptly sent it back. It was tri-colore tortellini from the refrigerator section at Kroger with 6 sad pieces of wilted spinach on top. There was a pool of what appeared to be an attempt at a cream sauce(looked more like they poured cream on it). It had absolutely no flavor – none. I was pretty surprised that a manager didn’t come by our table as typically happens when a customer sends food back. A while ago we came for Sunday brunch buffet, paid $ 40 each, and I can’t remember what they had it was so blah. Italian food is so easy to make, which is what makes this place even more disappointing. We gave it another shot, but will not return.

I’ve had their breakfast and $ 14 lunch buffet with the food being a hit or a miss. They had an egg custard menu item mixed with green beans that was out of this world. It was so good I had to get seconds. Their creamy pastas and potato salad and bread pudding were slices of heaven. They could use a little more work on the cold pasta. It was really rubbery and hard. The soup was really sour too. It was suppose to be a sausage soup. The dessert area was great. I got to try a bunch of different mousses. The salad area had tons of condiments that made you want to explore an area that you usually wouldn’t venture at a buffet.
