We love this place. Their toasted lobster rolls are great. We have also had their fresh haddock — grilled! Delicious. Also had the broiled lobster and stuffed shrimp. We love their mashed potatoes. Bar is fine. Our servers have been great! We ate there three times during our trip. It was convenient to our hotel. We look forward to eating there every time we come in May. We wish they would bring back the mashed cauliflower.

Newly redesigned interior was a mistake. Who’s idea was it to tear down walls, expand the bar and replace booths with stools and smaller tables? It’s more bar than restaurant now. Guess they’re trying for the younger generation. Did all of their old grey hairs finally die off? Food quality was average at best. The cheesecake dessert tasted like someone shat in the mixing bowl. Giving it two stars out of nostalgia as it’s nothing more than a shell of what it once was. It’s fine to compete with Applebees and the other mega chains in the area but they missed the mark and are now no different than the others.

Enjoyed a nice Grey Goose martini and the crispy chicken honey mustard salad at the Pub 99 bar this past weekend. Steve was a wonderful server/bar tender. Very pleasant and attentive. Definitely made the entire visit worthwhile and would be the reason we go back except we overheads him saying he’s moving to South Carolina — good luck, Steve!!! Food was average to good. Nothing spectacular. Beverage was good but I got a top shelf martini so considering … We will probably go back.

Since I needed to head to Auburn, MA with my mom take care of some business, I decided to research beforehand what restaurants were in the area, as I was hoping to grab a bite to eat while we were in the area as my mom took care of her business. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants in Auburn did not seem great, as they did not get the best reviews on Unilocal.Thankfully, 99 Restaurant & Pub popped up, which was great as I had heard great things about them from friends who have patronized them as well as rating well in Consumer Reports’s ratings of table-service chain restaurants well ahead of similar restaurants, like Applebee’s and TGI Fridays. With that in mind, I decided to stop here for lunch, as I liked the menu and it was convenient to where my mom was. After I parked, I entered the restaurant, which was clean and inviting, with many seats, a large bar in the center of the restaurant, many large-screen TVs showing sporting events and the news, and tsotchkes and knick-knacks along the wall. I was then greeted by Trish, a bubbly and welcoming hostess, who happily escorted me to a very nice high-top table near the bar. Since it was a bit busy, I had to wait a little for my waitress, but I was greeted by Lois, a very sweet older waitress who reassured me that my waitress Helen would be right with me. Thankfully, Lois was right and I was greeted by Helen, who was very friendly and jovial. Since I knew what I wanted as I looked at the menu before I went, I ordered the Balsamic Grilled Chicken off of the 9 Real Size Entrees for $ 9.99 menu along with a Strawberry Lemonade to drink. Helen also asked if I wanted popcorn, which is standard at this chain, but I declined. With my order placed, I relaxed in the cozy and inviting atmosphere. Helen arrived with my Strawberry Lemonade, which was sweet, fruity, and tart. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay long as planned as my mom was done with her business and needed to be pick up. Thankfully, Helen was very understanding and made sure my food would be packed to go. After she delivered my food about fifteen minutes after I ordered, I thanked her for a wonderful time and was on my way. After I met my mom, I had the chance to enjoy my lunch and found it to be very good! The portion was large, with two nicely sized moist, tender, and juicy grilled chicken breast complemented by a tangy, sweet, and slightly fruity balsamic glaze. In addition, I also enjoyed the well-cooked broccoli and fluffy and slightly salty rice pilaf that accompanied it. While I will not get to eat at 99 Restaurant again anytime soon as I do not have any in my area and will not be traveling to New England again anytime soon, I would definitely dine at 99 Restaurant again as the food was very good, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the value for the money was excellent, making this a far better option than a comparable restaurant like Applebee’s and TGI Fridays!

The restaurant has changed their seating and it is much nicer. But the food is simply not healthy — too much salt and sugar — although it tastes really good. My special marguerita was watery and very bland — guess you get what you pay for. I had fish tacos thinking they would be more healthy but no, they were covered with sauce. I will not go back there. The music was dominating and very loud and not at all pleasant — unless you are a teenager. I looked around and most people were over 50; I can’t believe they like this music — if you want to call it that.

Came here for a late lunch with my mom. The employees are all so friendly and food was good. An older man didn’t feel well and almost fell at the bar– the manager Dave stayed with the man the entire time– by his side making sure he was ok. Very compassionate and comforting to the man. It was so nice to see sincere concern coming from the manager. The woman who sat us was super nice as well. We will be back :)

This was a great little find on our way thru town. Service was fast and friendly and the food was great. You get a bowl of complimentary popcorn to munch on while you wait. French Onion soup and Sirloin Steaks were delicious. I liked the mashed potatoes but the white cheddar sauce and caramelized onions were a little too much of a good thing. Overall a good meal.

I went to the 99 in Somerville, near Boston every weekend and had great food and service. Man, I miss that one near Assembly Square. Auburn: You wait forever to get seated, you need to ASK for complimentary popcorn. You need to ask for water, and beverage. Dinner? Your food comes with rice and vegetable. Vegetable = 3 tiny stalks of asparagus. They get one star for the hard working staff. Service is always friendly and consistent at every location. They need to offer more than one vegetarian option. Doable, but this location has been the worst in all of Massachusetts so far!

Went on a Friday night at 6pm and the restaurant was packed. I was able to get a seat at the bar. Bartender was attentive and able to get a menu quick. The hamburger I ordered was meant to be medium but came well done. Bartender offered to change it out but I settled to keep it since I knew it would take awhile. I have to say the bartenders were all attentive and observe them politely slow someones drinking down which was great to see. Overall good experience except for the overdone burger.

Wow! I am blown away by my experience at 99 today. When my friend offered to take me out there, I was extremely hesitant… almost even declined! My last experience was years ago, and I recall it being nothing special. However, today was the one of the best meals I’ve had in ages! And some of the best service! I was surprised by the wait on a Saturday, but it was a rainy Saturday afternoon and I guess no one had anything better to do. But the MOMENT we were seated, Mary was there — with her kind, gentle smile and her exuberance and her helpful attitude. MARY made our afternoon there an extreme pleasure and joy! I don’t know who she is, but one time as she was walking away, I looked at my friend and said«I love Mary. I’m going to find her outside of this place and make her my friend.» Yes, I know that’s strange, but it was because she brought such true, authentic smiles to my face! I ordered the Chicken Kabob salad, which I had to stop eating multiple times just to rave about how good it was! We added the soup/salad and mini dessert option for only a few extra dollars, which was extremely worth the price! The Seafood chowder was delicious, and just the right amount. The mini dessert tasted like a Snickers bar as a cake. To top it off, there were $ 3.99 margaritas! Basically the best day ever. Thank you, 99! *And may I just mention — this is my first review EVER on Unilocal! In years and years!

Love this place! Every time I’m in mass I stop here and see what’s new. The food has always been delicious and the servers attentive. Wish we had this kind of place in Alaska!

I don’t love this place. Second time here. The food does not have much flavor to it. BUT the margaritas are great and I do appreciate the gluten free menu!

Whole chain is pretty mediocre. Good menu with a lot of selection, food is usually average at best. Loaded mashed potatoes were served so cold the cheese on top never melted and chicken tasted like rubber. Staff was OK, but nothing spectacular. Many better options in the Auburn area at comparable prices.

I have rated this one star due to the lack of attention to customer service. Although, we were seated promptly by the manager we were without menus. The manager commented that the tables were not set appropriately with menus. We are frequent visitors to this restaurant and recognized the wait staff as experienced. After being seated we were not even acknowledged, as a matter of fact ignored. We exited without ordering, the manager was no where in sight. Will not return.

I’ve been in here a lot, but most recently went in one night late after work and have a great dinner! The waitress was very social and nice, she checked back in quite a few times, even as they were closing up. I had a steak that was prepared perfectly, my asparagus was very good, and thoroughly cooked!(some restaurants don’t take the time to cook asparagus properly, BONUSPOINTS!) and the mashed potatoes were great! I was very impressed, and would definitely go back there again!

I’ve always had good luck with Ninety-Nines. The menu is comparable to an Applebees or Uno and the prices are better. We have a full dinner, with two margaritas, a large wedge salad that we split and a kids meal, for $ 42 before tip. A comparable dinner would be at least $ 10 more anywhere else. Our twin 15-month-old girls usually draw a lot of attention, but the wait staff at this Ninety Nine was particularly impressive. They fawned over the girls for the entire meal and we got excellent service as a bonus. Whatever we asked for was there in a minute. The entire staff was unceasingly friendly. They split our $ 4 wedge salad and our girls’ desert without prompting. The only negative was that the entrees arrived just a couple of minutes after the salads, but our server even apologized for that. Go Ninety Nine!

Another lunch time visit for us today. Food was OK. I had the lunch size steak tips with french fries. There were only 4 pieces o beef on the plate. Next time I’ll just stick with the regular size portion for $ 3 more. Our server was excellent. She checked with us first before bringing popcorn because we had Baby B with us. She checked on us several times during our visit. The only blemish, She was nice enough to offer to wrap up Mrs B’s sandwich that she couldn’t finish, but never brought it back to us. Of course being distracted parents of a three year old we forgot about it until after we had pulled out of the parking lot… shame on us.
