I really enjoyed my dinner at Guy Fieri’s Chophouse. We were seated exactly at the time of our 5pm reservation and had really great service! They gave us an excellent view of the AC skyline,(which isn’t much to look at in February) but once it got dark, it was very pretty. They had a nice selection of beers, my boyfriend was thrilled that Yuengling was on tap. I opted for the house Margarita. I ordered the butter fish and it was amazing! Great flavor and filling. Billy, had the Prime Rib with a baked potato. He said it was the best prime rib he’s ever had. We also split the Strawberry Sundae and it was to-die-for. My favorite was the pretzel rolls and honey mustard butter that came with our meals, I could have ate that butter straight. Delicious! Great atmosphere! I’d return here in a heartbeat!

It was much, much better than I expected. Cons — I saw hardly any actual«sushi» on the sushi menu. I think tuna tartare was the only raw offering. Rather overpriced considering the casual atmosphere and touristy menu items. Pros — We Only had seafood but it was all really good ! Waiter was excellent. Dessert(mint Oreo something) was enough for 5 people and awesome. Nice beer selection. Priceless views. Worth a trip if you’re comped or someone is picking up the tab. If you are paying, you might not be as thrilled.

Guy Fieri has once again proven to be a man among boys, a sensei master among beginners, and a lion among gazelle in the culinary world. Game, set, match. Guy Fieri. Guy brings a provenance to masterfully created entrees that New Jersey has never seen before. Cuisine never existed on the boardwalk, that is, until Guy brought it. Recommendations 1) «Guy’s Oriental Schnitzel Spring Rolls with Razz MaTazz sauce»: German & Japanese cuisine together? Yes. It’s delicious and the flavor is so powerful that they should call it Axis Powerful! 2) «Guy’s All American sushi shitzoo sandwich»: Guy prepares pieces of sushi(FYI, Guy learned the art of Sushi making under the tutelage of Sensei Hiroshi Goldberg in Encino) and places them in between two piece of sourdough bread. It is served with Shitzoo sauce which is composed of plums, liquid heat, and mayonnaise. Tina Turner says it’s «Simply The Best!» 3) «Guys Black Anus Rib Roast Experience»: No, that is not a spelling error. Guy has pioneered a new technique of extrapolating the most tender and delicious cuts of meat from the posterior of the cow. The meat is dry aged for 3.5 years and then seasoned with Guy’s salt and codeine blend. The rib roast is brought table side with road side flairs sticking out of the meat itself. It is cut table side and served with your choice of a red wine reduction sauce or ketchup. It is fabulous! This is THE destination restaurant of Atlantic City.

Came here just to have a drink during a Unilocal Winterfest and thought the place looked great to eat. I’m really excited that we got some comps and were able to head over here again for dinner, or else I don’t think I would’ve bothered. If you want to sit at a booth or in the main dining area you need a reservation, but thankfully they also have a large bar area with high tops that you can seat yourself. As our food came to the table we ordered a giant fishbowl for $ 20, I figured it was a cool looking drink(5 different liquors) and most cocktails were already $ 14 so at least I got two out of this one. It was much sweeter than I expected it to be, but not bad if you plan on splitting it with someone. We had so much left over I even go a to go cup at the end of the meal! We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms which came in an iron cast skillet. They were delicious! The appetizer was suggested by our waitress who was swamped that night. Although there were only 5 mushrooms for a whopping $ 16 for the plate, it was definitely a plate I would recommend. The hubby and I split an entrée of pasta; I loved that our waitress had it come out in two seperate plates already. We had the roasted chicken alfredo and the sauce is one of the better ones I’ve had. It was definitely a different take on it, considering the heavy roasted red pepper flavor(not spicy at all), but delicious. Even splitting the plate, neither one of us was able to finish! Overall I was satisfied with the attention and service from everyone here. The food was also great, just really pricey for what it is, especially that the ambiance of this place seems more casual than upscale.

Whatever you think of Guy Fieri, that’s irrelevant when you step into this place. Yeah. Guy Fieri. You either love him or hate him. But whatever your opinion of him is, there’s no doubt this place has some great steaks. This place tries to be really young and hip, between the décor and the waitresses’ outfits. It kind of works, but that’s neither here nor there. Whether you go for the massive porterhouse or the more reasonable filet mignon, you can’t go wrong here.

New Year’s Eve is famous for getting the worst of a popular restaurant. I am happy to report that this was NOT the case here. We purchased the pre-fix 4 course and we were delighted. The service was an 18% not 20% but still surprising good for this holiday. Make sure you show up hungry as the portions are huge. So Al says make sure you eat here.

Guy fieri needs to stick to hosting diners drive ins and dives because this place is awful. My husband says it’s a glorified applebees. The food is flavorless, cooked incorrectly and extremely over priced. Dont get me started with the wait staff. And why is the hostess dressed like she’s going to party in the 80’s? Of all the things ordered i enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms the most. And thats only because everything else was so horrible. My sister and i both had to send our steaks back because they were overcooked. And we also had to add a shit load of salt and pepper. A good steakhouse doesnt to add any seasonings but this is not a good steakhouse. The oysters were not shucked correctly. There was nothing but shells and they didnt even take the oyster off the shell. Go somewhere else!!!

I had the Java Crusted Rib Chop last night ordered medium rare. I have to say it was the best piece of beef I believe I have ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly and the fat was rendered nicely. Just delicious. This review is really on the food only. I don’t care about the service or ambiance when you can serve a piece of meat prepared so perfectly. Surprised at the rating on this restaurant but it might be because the wait staff has little to no personality though the bus staff were friendly.

I’ve been here once before and knew of the massive amounts of food they serve. I wasn’t wowed the first time but also didn’t hate it so we tried it again. I got a shrimp cocktail. I asked for the Bloody Mary Cocktial sauce– as advertised. The waiter consistently referred to the cocktail sauce as the«BM sauce». UMMNO. How about cocktail sauce if you need to short hand it? LOL I skipped a main course and just got a potato from the potato bar. My friend got a hamburger. Took 45 minutes to get them both. We were there for 90 minutes for shrimp cocktail and a hamburger w/a potato. Way to long and then it took another 20 minutes to get the check. Service was bad last time we visited as well so won’t be returning to Flavortown. Although I’m not sure we ever got there.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is one of my favorite shows, so I had to check this place out. It’s located inside Bally’s just at the top of the escalator. You can’t miss it. I didn’t have a reservation when I came here for an early dinner. I figured that it was early and didn’t need one since I was dining alone. I was given a booth that was close enough to see the TV’s at the bar so I could take a peak at some of the NFL games. I started things off with a martini. Then for my meal I ordered their Heritage Pork Chop Paillard and the Chili Lime Street Corn. Both items were very good and full of flavor. I would recommend both items. I finished things off with another martini. My server had the nickname of Trinity. She was great! She was nice, quick, and friendly. *Heritage Pork Chop Paillard* It comes with a salad on top of the pork chop. This was quite flavorful, like a party in your mouth! I usually prefer a steak, but I this pork chop could change my mind in what I order in the future. Good stuff! *Chili Lime Street Corn* Very delicious. Pretty much like eating the corn on the cob version from the street vendors but without the hassle of the cob. This was good! Overall, the food and service was excellent and I wouldn’t mind coming here again!

I am an avid Guy Fieri fan that watches his show Diners, Drive Thru’s & Dives faithfully! Despite my love for his zest & vigor I must admit I was not as impressed as I thought I would be with his restaurant. The wait staff was cordial and you could tell they were still familiarizing themselves with the menu(seeing as though it had recently opened). The food was ok. Instead of being served bread, we were served pretzel nuggets, which was a huge disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, I love pretzels on a nice summer day, just with my water ice, not my food. I had a seafood dish that was a special entrée, but it was over powered by too much corn. The ambiance was ok, but nothing long lasting that left a profound impression on me.

The Hubby and I tried this on our last night in AC. I was a bit apprehensive that it would just be an over priced yet mediocre steakhouse, but I WASWRONG. We tried the wings. Fall. Off. The. Bone! We shared the Caesar salad. Those croutons? Spicy Tuna roll was fab, truffle fries were addicting and the prime rib? HUGE. JUICY. Amazing! All members of the team were professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. Princess and Skywalker took great care of us, and Tinman pitched in from time to time. Seriously great experience and worth every penny.

This dinner was hosted by one of the doctors who gave a seminar on neurosurgery and worked with many lawyers. It seems he invited about 25, but word spread and about 70 of us showed up. Leave it to lawyers to jump on a free meal. As a result, the service was very slow and we were still sitting there at 10. Luckily, the wine selection was good, and we were able to keep ourselves well entertained. We sampled a wide swath of the Chophouse menu, but nothing stood out as exceptional. You can see from the photos what was put in front of me, but I hope you excuse that with the steady flow of Merlot, I don’t remember the names of the dishes. Ultimately, places like this are all about excess, not quality. Everything is satisfactory, and a few things better than that. Still, I am not going to complain when being treated to a multi course feast. While I wouldn’t choose to have a date at Guy’s, it is also true that I wouldn’t choose Atlantic City for a romantic weekend, unless there was a great band playing. But for a horde of lawyers away from home for a couple of nights, this is about as good as it gets.

Came here during Unilocal’s Winter Break weekend in Atlantic City as part of the #YelpBWC Boardwalk Challenge scavenger hunt. I’m not a Guy Fieri fan in the least and would never come here on my own accord, lol. Still, Ingrid S. and I were doing this challenge together and we arrived at pretty much 5pm on the dot(when they opened) that Saturday. Upon checking in on Unilocal we scored complimentary 16 oz. beer pint glasses. Sweet! They said«Guy!» scrawled on them. NOT sweet :-/. I also had to ask for them 3 times… a.) Because I wanted to get out of their ASAP and b.) because we could always use new glasses for pre-gaming purposes back in the hotel room. #Priorities. We did end up giving Guy Fierri some money though as we each ordered a beer. We have similar beer palettes(except for hops, I’m not a fan and she is) so we both went with Strawberry Wheat Beer made by Lancaster Brewing Company in Lancaster PA. It was okay but easily the most fun beer on tap. Some guys next to us who kept trying to mack it to us ordered food and it looked ooooookay. Probably a few notches above Applebees to be honest. Their cheese burger and fettuccine alfredo looked edible and the portions were ginormous. I was terribly tempted to try their mac n’ cheese but we ended up doing fancypants Chinese/Vietnamese food for dinner instead… In all this wasn’t as painful of an experience as I was envisioning it to be. It was A-OK.

Food was amazing, service was downright terrible. We were planning on going to Ramsay’s but they were booked for reservations so we ended up here instead. I was surprised because the Bally’s website has the restaurant listed as «upscale» so I was worried it was going to be fancy. Pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t, was just what we were looking for. There was a wait to be seated but there were a ton of hightop tables open, so we sat there. It was busy but not insane. I specifically wanted to remember our server’s name because she was so awful. Ruby took 15min just to get our drinks. When she was bringing out our silverware, you could tell there was a method they were supposed to follow because she did it for my friend. But rather than set my silverware up like she just had for her, she literally threw it on the table and ran away. The majority of our meal was fine because we didn’t need anything, which was good because Ruby was MIA for pretty much the entirety of the meal. The real issue came towards the end of our meal. We hadn’t been there an extra long amount of time, just the usual time for having dinner. A group of guys came and sat at the hightop next to us. They wanted to have 2 tables and Ruby yelled over to us «IFTHESEGIRLSLEAVE you can have their table.» The guys were as shocked as we were and were all like no, clearly they’re not done their meal yet. Ruby then proceeded to take a stack of 5 or 6 menus and slammed them down on our table saying«YOUDON’T MINDIF I PUTTHESEHEREDOYOU.» We thought we were in the twilight zone. She was downright rude to us until we left, we could tell she was just trying to get us to leave, wtf? The food was delicious. I did the restaurant week menu — ahi tuna roll, short ribs, and cheesecake. The sushi was a generous portion, short ribs more on the smaller side, and cheesecake was standard. The sushi was very fresh, loved the little crunchies on it. The short ribs were so moist! The sauces throughout that dish were amazing. And the cheesecake was to die for, loved the chips and chocolate covered pretzel on it! I tried my friend’s potato soup and it was so good, as was the chocolate cake she had. Unfortunately the service didn’t match up to the food. I hope our service experience isn’t the norm here — if so, what a shame. It was my first time going to a celebrity chef restaurant. If I’m back in AC again, don’t think I’d give this place another shot. Way too many other options to choose from.

After the now-famous Pete Well’s slamfest review of Guy’s Times Square location, I’ll admit… I had«lowered expectations» for my first experience at a Fieri restaurant. After all– a lot of punny slogans, mildly entertaining food gimmicks, and bright bleach blond tips does not a good chef make. The meal started out with the server reciting a VERY well rehearsed, even impressive description of the menu with Guy Fieri’s signature slogans peppered throughout. Our table of 11 was so enthralled by the performance that the server actually received a round of applause from us after he finished. I decided to go with the Restaurant Week menu. A choice of appetizer, entrée, and desert for 33 dollars. My personal appetizer: Spicy Crunch Tuna Roll. A well formed, larger than average, sushi roll hit my table. No gimmicks here. Unless you consider super fresh tuna, ripe avocado, and cool pieces of cucumbers gimmicks. Regular accoutrement of wasabi and pickeled ginger flanked the dish. The rolls were delicious The communal appetizer:(Vegas Fries). These, what I call ‘zipper fries’, came with buffalo dust(couldn’t taste any of this), shredded carrot on top, and a blu-sabi dipping sauce. The fries were perfectly cooked. You got to drizzle your own tall shot glass of buffalo sauce on(I appreciate this– as this gives the fries less time to become soggy). Plus it was plain fun. The dipping sauce was fantastic and the carrots worked well. Simple and delicious. My Entrée:(Grilled Salmon). One of the most deliciously simple and well-charred pieces of salmon I’ve ever had. Plus, our filets were super thick and large. I mean… I could’ve easily split it with someone… but I was fat and ate the entire thing myself. The green beans below were cooked well and the cornbread stuffing(although kind of an odd pairing) was pretty delicious. And yes… we do need to discuss the donkey sauce… it freakin’ delectable! This oddly… ok lets be honest… poorly named sauce that consists of mayo, roasted garlic, Worcestershire, and mustard was well received at our table. I got it on the side just in case. I think I used all of it. The two other people at the table that got salmon asked the server for extra sides of it. One thing you can guarantee at Guys is large portions. Guys big personality is mimicked by his large full plates of food. House Cab was delicious — I should have ordered a second glass, but everyone ordered a doppio espresso with desert– and it was too tempting. Service was extraordinary, well timed, down to earth, and warm. BIGPROPSTOOURSERVERBLAZE! The only part of the meal that fell flat was the dessert. I ¼ understand why you decided to put potato chips on top of my cheesecake, but it was not appreciated. Also, the cheesecake was weak. Also… I kinda wanted something even a little more gimmicky. Why not a chocolate whiskey lava cake with a chili powder dusting or something. What about some baileys ice cream root beer float… something a little more inventive. I also tasted the chocolate cake and was not wowed by any stretch of the imagination. Conclusion, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back… I didn’t think I’d ever say it. But yeah– Guy, you have a fan here in Maryland.

Restaurant Week review 2015– The AC edition. Three courses for $ 33.15 per person while staying at Bally’s. This was the only place we could find available. Even when they are totally booked with reservations you still sit by the bar or High Top tables which we did. If it wasn’t for the Restaurant Week promotion I probably would not have come here. The regular menu prices seemed very high to me. Be prepared if you do go. For appetizers we had the spicy tuna roll and Caesar Salad. There was 5 pieces served with pickled ginger, wasabi and a dipping sauce(this I thought was a little too salty). Though I am not a big fan of Sushi it was enjoyable and tasty. My entrée of choice was the Grilled Chicken Paillard, it was accompanied by mashed potatoes. The better half went with the Braised Short Ribs with Cheese Grits. Both also came with steamed green beans and Donkey Sauce. The best part of the meal to us was the desserts. They had only two choices so we got one of each. The cheesecake was creamy and served with potato chips and a chocolate covered pretzel. The other dessert was a decadent chocolate cake with crème anglaise. Overall an ok meal at best.

I came down here seeing I was on a lucky streak. End of the year going out with a bang and up in the gambling scene. No I don’t need to see a counselor, or attend an anonymous help group. When you’re hot, you’re just hot where losing was not a part of your vocabulary. l had to ride this out, but I also needed to refuel this winning machine. Guy Fieri your Chophouse is and has a sexy appeal to it, I will give you that. The reason for the 3 stars I’ll mention later. The ambiance has a relaxing character to it, where everone is laid back. The mood is right, this is a great spot to come to break away from the hustle and bustle of the casino floor. The menu looked great as we were perusing through it picking out what we were going to get. The drink menu also was very impressive, good quality drinks and drafts to be had where the libation gods would be impressed. The Appetizer: Pot Belly Sliders, basically is a must order with these nicly cut little bad boys was nestled in roll. This is a slow-cooked pork belly with an orange-chipotle type of glaze with pickled cucumbers. Oh yea this was damn good, a nice spicy kick to these little porkers. The Main: I had went with a Surf and Turf duo in a Wood Grilled Filet(Pittsburgh style) with a blue cheese crust and added bacon for good measure. This Turf was simply perfect, amazing I would have to say. Now onto the Surf with a «Cold Water Lobster Tail». Now if you are uncertain of what this is, I’ll just say this. This is a Lobster tail that went onto a Wood-grilled, that came out with a habanero types of lime butter for your dipping pleasure. This in my book was out of this world, I have never tasted anything this good. A must order, again I will say this is a must order. The Service: This is where you lose a star. It is understandable if you have a packed house, where your are trying your best to accomodate. Guy if your establishment was somewhat empty there should be no reason why we had to track down our waiter. No reason for us to go to the bar and get our drinks. The Restrooms: This is where you lose that second star. I don’t get it, everything about this spot is sexy like I said earlier. The ambiance, the styles, the bar down to the view you have looking outside. Then you have this, I am not sure what the Womens room looks like but the Mens room«blaahh». My friend if you have all that working for you out there, take some time to make it pop in here. The bathrooms outside your establishment looks a thousands times better. I like this spot, work out the kinks my friend, most likely I’ll be back again.
