I found Marika and Urban Serenity Massage via a Groupon deal. I made a mistake and booked a massage on a day when I had to work. Marika was very flexible and allowed me to reschedule on short notice via email. Once I arrived she asked me some questions to get to know my lifestyle and what requests I had for my massage. Once we got started, I was in heaven. She has a knack for finding deep knots and working them out. She focused on the areas I asked to and avoided the areas that I asked her to. I actually fell asleep! I would recommend Marika to anyone looking for a good massage. She seemed to be very intuitive about what I needed and I truly appreciate that. I just wish I could afford to go more frequently…

I’ve been trying to make an appointment for almost two weeks now. I called and e-​mailed her on Unilocal,and it’s been impossible. She (Marika I think) did respond once via e-​mail and I attempted to make an appointment, but she never responded.
Even if she’s a great masseuse, it doesn’t matter if she’s not responsive and even getting her on the phone isn’t an option. Total shame. I would have probably been a repeat client.

Marika is a wonderful at what she does! The atmosphere is very relaxing and in a great location. She gives the best massage in Atlanta. Very relaxing and therapeutic. I will definitely be back!

Marika pays attention to my «trouble spots» that arise, and intuitively balances her knowledge and mastery of massage by skillfully taming the knots and opening the blood flow in the affected area (s). I also love the warm towels wrapped on my neck and feet and the scalp and feet massage. So relaxing! I am always de-​stressed when I leave, and look forward to my next visit.

Purchased a Groupon for 3 75-​minute massages and attempted to follow their instructions to book a «Groupon» massage through their online booking system. However, there aren’t any appointments available for Groupon massages (and I mean ever, not just on the dates I’d ideally like to go). I checked the website three different times over the course of a couple weeks and was never once able to find an available appointment on ANY date. Finally, I called and left a voicemail last week requesting assistance with booking. No one bothered to call me back. At this point I’m just trying to get Groupon to refund my money.

The massage was ok, I can’t say it was the best I had. But it s very hard to schedule one if you have a day job. Most weekends are booked months in advance because there is only one person doing the massages. And weekdays last massage is at like 4pm, unless you book a month in advance you might find one at 5 pm on a weekday. I kind of regret buying a bundle in advance, i cannot schedule a massage when i need it but rather when i find a decent time available. Wouldn’t really recommend this place ultimately because of availability.
Also she uses hot towels which I don’t like for 2 reasons, I’m there for the massage and I don’t want to waste time with hot towels, secondly they make me uncomfortably hot (especially in the summer !!!), and she doesn’t really ask you or tell you in advance so you can opt out if it.

Let’s just say, every time I went I fell asleep and woke up feeling like a new woman.
This review is long overdue.
The outside is a trick, the location looks like a house (not ideal for a spa day). When you’re inside the massage room the relaxation begins. Marika puts on nice music and she seems really down to earth… but her hands are from another planet.
I got an affordable yet delightful full body massage and she worked everything.
Even the toes! The first two times I received a scalp massage but not the third time, that’s the only bad thing I can think of.
Besides that the massages have been consistently wonderful & I hope to be back.

Hands down (no pun intended) the best massage I’ve had in the Atlanta area. I don’t know what it is about her technique but a few times now I’ve had out-​of-​body experiences involving swirls of emotion and color and memory. I’ve never experienced anything like this with the big guys. Be sure to grab her currently running Groupon deal.

No air conditioning in 90 degree summer heat with just a ceiling fan set on low. I almost passed out due to the heat and I could not put my face in that hole where u are supposed too because it was too freaking hot and I got dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. If there A/​C was out she should have rescheduled me for another day but she didn’t. Being under all those warm comforters and sheets didn’t help either. It would have been perfect if it was cold like every other massage place or Spa that does massages… but when you put a warm rag around my neck and then wrap my feet up in warm towels it would have been wonderful if I didn’t feel like I was going to have a heat stroke. I did not enjoy my massage because all I could think about was how hot it was and I feel like I should visit any and every establishment before purchasing a massage that is non refundable. I do not recommend this place if it is summer and definitely ask before you make an appointment if they have A/​C. Also, she did not massage my arms or hands and every other place I have gotten massages from always do that.

Marika is wonderful! I got the best massage of my life today. Not an exaggeration. OF MY LIFE. She found and untied every knot from top to bottom. I felt like melted goo when I left. Marika is extremely skilled and professional. She and the environment are both very welcoming. I found her through Groupon. Tip her well — the Groupon is a steal for what she delivers! I will definitely go back soon.

Marika is one of the best massage therapists I’ve ever worked with. She seems to be able to read my body and deliver exactly what I need. While she’s working on me I can float away for an hour and forget the stress of the outside world.
Ask about her spa’s monthly massage program which makes a regular visit very affordable.
The web site gives you the ability to book online, which is great. And, the new «in-​town» location is convenient.
The space is so close to the Edgewood Shopping center that you can reward yourself after some hectic shopping with a relaxing massage. Also, you can easily access it from the Candler Park Marta station.
