For my 30th birthday, my parents and I had two beautiful prints(given to me from my famous Vietnamese-American uncle) framed at the Great Frame Up Morningside. And for what it’s worth, I couldn’t have had a better experience. Things you should know: PROCESS: Bring whatever art you want to have framed(via appointment or not), and chat with one of their specialists. He or she will help determine what matte and frame combo best works to highlight your piece(s). Factors include the following: –Color of your wall. –Color and type of painting. –Pricing. COST: Mattes generally cost the same, while the frames vary due to differences in wood-type and size. Also, for the glass, you can either have the standard or the museum(clearer). The standard is just as nice and much more affordable. Both paintings came out to somewhere around $ 1500 to frame both of my paintings. Each painting was about 40 inches diagonally. SERVICE: Super nice and helpful staff. They totally rock, and I loved working with them. OVERALL: I now know where to go for my framing needs.

I came to The Great Frame Up based upon the Unilocal reviews and I am glad I did. I had been collecting antique postcards that depict my family’s restaurant and wanted them to be framed together. I wasn’t really sure of what I wanted it to look like other than classy and true to the antique nature of the postcards. The owner(I forget his name!) worked with me for quite sometime looking through various frames and matting with many helpful suggestions. They did an excellent job. It was way better than I anticipated. My friends said I could have gotten it done for cheaper but this is a piece of art. Valuable priceless items deserve the artistry of a framing professional — and that’s what you get at The Great Frame Up. Even better, they are a ma and pa shop and supporting local business is always a plus.

I had a wonderful experience here. I came in to frame wedding photos, and the owner who was working behind the counter helped me through the entire process. When I told him I needed the photos back in time for my husbands birthday(which was 3 days earlier than their quoted turnaround of 10 days), and he told me he would make it happen in time! On top of it all, he have me a discount based on a coupon they have out right now, that I did not bring in with me. I will definitely be back!

Excellent staff and beautiful custom frame. We needed to display a 2000 year old bronze coin from both sides, they were even able to put this two-sided frame together in less than a week for our client. Fantastic quality and honest fair pricing.

I used to go to another popular frame shop in town but after seeing this on Unilocal + the coupon they always have in the local paper= I tried GFU a long time ago and have continued to use them ever since. Their staff is friendly and professional, their prices are more reasonable than other places, and they have NEVER messed anything up for me, which is important when you are having one-of-a-kind pieces framed. Well worth the extra price over a generic frame shop like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby because GFU will not ruin your art/diploma/etc. and they will have it done very quickly(typically less than a week).

I can honestly say that the folks at the Great Frame Up are not only friendly and professional, but they provided me with expert advice and superb finished products. When we brought our business accolades to them for professional matting and framing for our store lobby, we weren’t sure what was best for our needs. Carolyn, Andy and Mark were very helpful in suggesting the appropriate mat, frame and glass for our products. The finished results were beautiful and their pricing for the quality of work and consultation was worth every penny. We have since brought them several pieces both personal and professional and we wouldn’t trust anyone else to do our framing. Check these fine folks out — you won’t be disappointed! They helped me put together a creative piece for my boyfriend. It turned out absolutely amazing — better than I could have imagined! The colors and design they helped me select and put together were perfect and the finished product was completed 3 days early. Love this place!

We had a great experience with The Great Frame Up — Morningside. I brought in several things that needed to be framed. Carolyn(one of the owners) worked with us to pick out frames that went well with the art work but also matched the modern style of our home. We even had a couple of pieces of art work that had already been matted that were a bit dented and she was able to help us with framing them appropriately and making sure that the mats were okay. They turn around was great — we got our 5 pieces of art back really quickly and they look beautiful! The service was just really great. And when I went to pick up the art work they even helped me out to the car. I was trying to juggle all the art work and a two year old(not highly recommended). But, the owners, Carolyn and Andy were great and so were their staff. It definitely has the feel of a personal business. We will definitely be taking any framing needs we have there.

I just brought in some old family photos to be framed as a 70th birthday gift for my mom. Andy(the owner) was wonderfully helpful! There are so many choices in terms of mat colors and frames, it was hard for me to make a decision. He was great at talking through the options and making recommendations(while still listening to my taste and preferences). Andy’s a graphic designer(and experienced framer), so he was also helpful in picking out a font for wording that’s being included in the piece. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about going to a big, national chain… but this store is locally-owned by Andy and his wife, while still having the benefits of the support of an experienced parent company. I can’t wait to give the finished gift to my mom — it looks fantastic and was affordable!
