The B-Complex

Great event space. The main warehouse gallery is downright amazing. The difference inside the gate from the surrounding neighborhood is striking. It’s like walking into a serene zen space with a cool urban industrial vibe. You have to check out their events some time.

This is probably the hardest venue to find. Directions included go past the silo. It’s located in the West End on the other side of the railroad tracks and Lee Street.
Once you find it though, it’s like an oasis. It’s basically a compound where artists rent studio spaces. The entrance review is pretty severe. You have to submit a portfolio and go through an interview process.
There is a large warehouse that they use for the performance space. I think it used to be a textile manufacturing plant. I went for a production of Woyzeck. I liked the way the actors were all visible in the large space.
They also have a little bar inside the space, and, my favorite part was this strange swing hanging from the ceiling. I spent most of my time on that! I liked the space, and now that I can find it, I’ll keep going.
