This place is conveniently located right across from the Helen Aderhold learning center. For those of you who don’t go to Georgia State, Aderhold is the building that’s the farthest out from the center of campus. Finding a good place to pick up some food and get a bite to eat is a difficult task after a certain time of day, around six p.m. The line here moves pretty quickly, unless of course there’s a huge lunch rush coming in from Aderhold. I went here today, got a meatball marinara sub for $ 2 and a drink/chips combo for $ 2.75 more. So I had a complete lunch(and better tasting and healthier I might add) for less than $ 5. This includes tax, by the way. Why does this place not get the glorious five star review? I came here today and specifically asked for a six inch meatball marinara sub, since I was already aware of their December special(either a meatball marinara sub or a cold cut sandwich for $ 2 during the entire month of December. Not a bad deal, right?). Anyway, I notice the lady behind the counter take an entire loaf of whole grain bread(which I had requested) and cut it into two halves(each six inches). I figured, maybe the lady behind me in line got the same thing I got(and that she was aware of the December special too). I get to the cashier, having my debit card out, and I’m charged $ 6.91. Wait, that can’t be right. The lady actually made me two sandwiches when I only asked for one. The cashier tried to act as if I were trying to get away with paying for just one, which was odd, but I managed to pay the correct amount after a few minutes of discourse. Just as a reminder, when you’re in line ordering here, please speak up and clearly so that they don’t mess up your order at all. The people behind the counter need to do the same. Half the time I had to ask what the lady toasting the bread and asking me what I wanted about two-three times. Speak up, enunciate so that we can have no misunderstanding and squandered time. Also, don’t try to charge me for something I clearly didn’t order. If I wanted two six inch subs, why would I want that and not just order a footlong instead? Does that make any sense?

Visited this Subway more than a few times after my classes at Georgia State because of the short distance and each time the employees not only look, but make it noticeable that they don’t want to be there. The«friendliness» from employees towards customers needs serious improvement. Out of all the times I’ve visited, I – the customer always end up saying«thank you» or «have a good one» after my purchase. And not yet has the cashier responded with a simple«you too». I highly recommend the Edgewood Subway. More spacious, cleaner and friendlier management. Oh, and they have a restroom to use if one wishes to «drop the kids off.» ;)

I have been, like many of us, to a lot of subway restaurants. They are all different in a lot of different ways. The main difference is the customer service experience one receives and how quickly they can make your sub. This subway is busy I understand but the people behind the counter are just plain annoying and are so hard to understand that it makes it difficult to order a meal without any issues. They move rather quickly which is the reason for the two stars but a lot of times they put the wrong ingredients on my sub and then have to remake it because of specific allergies I have. I don’t understand how you can confuse jalapeño peppers with black olives. Anyway, I will still come here because it is convenient on my way to class but just know there are better subways out there.

Talk about sub nazi… this place is stingy on EVERYTHING! I asked to substitute some of my turkey for salami and the manager barked«One Dollar extra charge!» from the other end of the counter. They keep the napkins stashed behind the counter so they can ration them. They only put one in my bag for a six inch sub dripping with oil, vinegar, mustard, and mayo. I asked for more and the manager rolled his eyes. Plus… not that I’m on of those«go back where you came from!» kinds but half of the staff’s English consists of nothing but sub sandwich toppings… not very helpful when you ask if you can have your bread toasted… When I give a bad review… I try to chalk it up to a bad day… buuuuuuttt… I’ve been going to the same Subway since freshman year… I’m now a junior and still think the service sucks and food is only so-so.

So here’s your star breakdown — One star for slightly better than sub-standard service. It wasn’t great. A girl yelled at me to tell her what kind of bread I wanted(as if it matters, they all taste the same) and called me a guy. I’ve got boobs and longish hair. but apparently that could be a guy too? I’m also wearing pink. Again, maybe? But I digress. One star for not having sub-merged my meatball sammitch in marinara. Really, people, this means a lot! Overall, Subway is pretty sub-par. Just sayin.
