I have to give it Sheimeka. She is good at what she do. She’s professional and time oriented. I had many experience with other stylist in Atlanta and I must say, I wasn’t as satisfied with them as much as I was with Sheimeka. Also, I must say. I came in with a picture of how I want my pixie cut. She had my hair layed. It looked better then the picture I showed. She’s Awesome!

I contacted Shemeicka, the owner, for a hair consult. I’ve been natural for 2 yrs but I was missing my straight styles. I haven’t been in a salon in over 4 yrs & totally clueless about what’s out there for hair. She was very honest & gave me the pros & cons of each choice. I chose a sew in. The shampoo girl was awesome & was very thorough w/the shampoo & drying of my hair. My hair was braided & I came back to do the sew in(my consult was late in the evening). The salon was busy but the patrons were moving. I liked the vibe of the salon. Shemeicka made me feel special & I liked how she interacted w/the patrons & her employees. My style was amazing. The only con I have is that my scalp felt very dry but this could be due to the fact I haven’t had any heat to my head in 2 yrs. it was easily remedied w/some hair oils I put on when I got home. I love my experience & definitely recommend her. Thanks Spice Salon.

I could not believe the situation I was put in while in this shop. This was my daughters first time getting their hair done at a salon, ages 6&7 and they were so excited; this was also my first time dealing with Ayanna whose number I found over the Internet with her wonderful website and what I now believe to be a bunch of false pictures. Ayanna was 45 minutes late because she texted me and said she had a long line of people but I spoke with her about an hour before to get directions and she never mentioned the heavy traffic until I was on my way. When I got to the shop no one was there(it was locked) so I was looking for this line she was talking about expecting her to be there(???) I was really confused. Well when I called her and she called me back and said she was doing hair somewhere else and on her way. Well after waiting she shows up with her 3 month old daughter and I was in awe. My daughters really wanted their hair done and I did not want to disappoint them and I needed their hair done for tomorrow for school so we went in. To make a long story shorter(because the story gets worse), basically this chick did not wash my daughters hair thoroughly, then had the nerve to stop several times to breast feed and ask me if I could watch her crying baby after she realized the baby wasn’t going to stop. Bottom line, find somewhere else to go and avoid Ayanna because she represented the shop that day and half the things that she was saying I didn’t believe. She also did not press one of my daughters hair properly; avoid this chick like the plague.

I have been going to Spice Salon for the past three years to have my hair done and I don’t have any complaints. Within the first year or so I decided I wanted to try a natural hair style. Sheimicka, the owner, was very accommodating and helped me feel more comfortable about my decision. It has been great ever since that day. My hair is natural and I love it. I thought it would be hard with working out weekly but the products that she uses in my hair helps it stay moisturized and manageable. I normally go to the salon once every three weeks and its the normal routine: Wash, steamer, sit under the dryer, flat iron and curl. This method works for me!!! My hair is healthy and strong and I get compliments all the time. In the near future I plan to move on the other side of town but I’ll make it my mission to drive to Moreland Avenue and get my hair done at Spice Salon.

I couldn’t get an appointment at my usual salon, so I decided to give Spice a try since it was so close to my house. I went the Saturday before Easter and found the salon to be busy but not overcrowded, and everyone was friendly and professional with banter between the stylists and their longtime customers. What I liked most about my experience was the trim the stylist gave, she saw I needed it and gave it to me for free and she did a great job. My ends still look really good a month later. The young lady who did my shampoo was also very through. If you’re looking for a head massage, she definitely gives it. What I disliked most was sitting under the hair dryer. I’ve been natural for almost 7 years and I haven’t been under a hair dryer in at least 6. And when the stylist went to finish drying my hair, it was uncomfortable. I wouldn’t want to go through that again. And my hair wouldn’t curl with the flat irons the stylist was using; she said it was because I use hot rollers to curl my hair at home, but I’ve never had a problem with my hair not curling at my usual salon. I also had a steam treatment, and usually after that my curls are pretty bouncy and amazing but in this salon, they were a bit limp. Maybe the conditioner used didn’t work for my hair or there wasn’t enough steam… I don’t know; I just know it was different. Also when my hair was combed out, it was combed from the scalp to the ends. I rarely do this, preferring to comb my hair from the ends to the scalp to lessen the likelihood of ripping out hair unnecessarily. Normally I would explain this to the person, but I was really tired and wasn’t up for the discussion. All in all, my hair looked fine, and I paid the same that I would have paid at my usual salon($ 80 not including trim and tip). The trim was great and my hair was soft to the touch. But I didn’t like the techniques and equipment that were used. Based on the other women I saw, I think if you have a relaxer or texturized hair, this would be a great place to get your hair done, but if you are natural, you’re probably better off going to a natural salon. I usually wear braids and it was damaging my hair. Regis is my Hair Doctor/hair counselor/hair stylist! She even taught me how to use«curly things» to keep my style up at home. For someone like me that is clueless when it comes to hair care, hair styles or even hair repair and growth — she is the best! I feel so blessed to have found her — I will follow her where ever she goes. & have found that some of her clients have followed her from previous salons as well. My hair is growing and healthy & I’m saying«Thank You» all day everyday because ppl tell me they love my hair style! To top that off she’s personable & funny! Feels like visiting a friend… Make sure you ask for Regis at Spice Salon and I always go on Tue or Wed for the special price deals!
