I literally cussed a friend out about not telling me about this place. How dare she keep this place from me! Souper Jenny was everything! I had such a hard time choosing a soup but they literally let me taste each soup twice with a smile on their face. I settled for the white bean and kale soup, but the turkey chili was amazing too. I had the lunch special win was reasonably priced with the amount of food you get(a cookie, drink, fruit, half a sandwich, and bowl of soup). I loved every bite and was ecstatic to find out about their to go soups by the pint. I’ll be seeing you soon Souper Jenny… real soon.

I’ve always been a fan of Souper Jenny and was so happy they opened one on the Westside AND decided to open on Mondays. I went on the first Monday they decided to experiment with a Monday crowd and I literally had to wait in line outside! It was also a cold and dreary day which usually makes people think«soup» for lunch, but Souper Jenny is also just that good. I’m not vegan but was happy to see 3 vegan options as I have cut back on dairy tremendously and don’t need meat in every meal. The Fall Root as very tasty, a lighter and less rich sweet potato like soup. The everything veggie soup was awesome! The kale and green bean salads were also great. Love this place!

So I’ve only had Sunday brunch here, but it was really disappointing. We had a ScoutMob, and I’m glad I didn’t pay full price. The breakfast was served Souper Jenny style where you pick out a few things you want from the food they have out on the counter. With sandwiches and soups, that usually works fine. But for breakfast, the food was cold and stale. The bacon was cold and tough. The bagels with salmon were so tough I couldn’t even bite into them. They were so bad that I complained and the waiter went into the back to find a better bagel… and couldn’t find one. He said they were all hard. I ate the salmon off the top and didn’t touch the rock-hard bagel. The special of the day was a waffle/egg sandwich, which sounded interesting but was actually bland and not so good. I wasn’t given a biscuit even though you’re supposed to, but when I saw other people in my group got one I went back up and asked for one and they gave it to me. The environment itself was pretty cool — kind of industrial, kind of homey. Plenty of parking and no wait. I’ve always enjoyed eating at Souper Jenny Buckhead for lunch. I’m not sure if it was this location or just breakfast, but I definitely wouldn’t go back.

As a big fan of metro fresh I came in with high expectations but souper jennys just didn’t come close. Less of a selection and more expensive than metro fresh… they did however give you a substantial serving. I had chicken noodle soup which was very good and paired with a turkey brie sandwich that wasn’t very flavorful. My friend ordered the chili which was just ok and chickpea salad. On the plus cookies are great! Metro fresh five stars souper jenny 3 stars

Always fresh & flavorful. Nice to come here for lunch for the combo: salad and sandwich with a cookie, drink and piece of fresh fruit. Plenty of choices and never a paucity of creativity. Souper Jenny always makes me want to come back again and again… never knowing what I’ll find, knowing that it will certainly be tasty!

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m continuously disappointed every time I’ve tried their lunch. I really want to like this place because I’m always looking for fast and healthy options and it’s less than a mile away from me. I’ve tried their chili and to me it’s bland and very disappointing that no toppings are offered. If you want cheese, that will cost you extra! I recommend complimentary toppings bar with cheese, sour cream, onions and chips! It seems unnecessary to charge when the chili is already priced high. Every time, the rolls are dry and flavorless– why not get from neighboring bakery?. I’ve tried a variety of their salads, and have been underwhelmed because they are either overly salty or whilted, and the potato salad undercooked and hard. On the bright side, their service is warm and cookies are delicious.

Overall really liked the food, but the brunch experience left something to be desired. The food was not warm(cold bacon = not my favorite and hard to chew, cold quiche = more manageable but should be room temp, cold toasted bagels = horrible and hard), and there was a 10min or so wait for the item of the day(waffle/egg sandwiches) after you got the rest of your food. The food itself was tasty, but some of the items were not my favorite(ex. sweet waffle with egg and turkey was a miss — it was the special that day). Also, it was a little unclear what was included when you got the special(3 items) and the servers forgot to give us our biscuits or let us know we got coffee — this was all written on the board but not clearly communicated to the guy at the register I guess about what you had ordered or what you should get. Also, the ambiance is not what I would expect from Souper Jenny. The space while bright, was big/loud/cold compared to the more cozy Buckhead Location — it was also too breezy. My coffee went cold pretty quick because of the giant fan. Some good things — no wait when we got there at 10⁄1030 on a Sunday morning. Ample parking out front. Delicious jams, biscuits, cookies, and coffee. Very good salads and the quiche was tasty(just wrong temp). Some outdoor seating. I love Souper Jenny’s Buckhead location, but was just underwhelemed by this one. Not sure if it’s a brunch problem or a location problem. May try them again, may not. Don’t have a strong feeling about it right now.

So, Jenny is officially my new BFF-in-my-head. After falling for the adorable Café Jonah, I decided to try another one of Planet Jenny’s offerings. All last summer, I kept telling myself I’d check out Souper Jenny but it never happened. A few weeks ago, I was driving down Huff Rd and saw that there was another Souper Jenny location that’s not to far from where I live. So I made it a point to finally go. I love the fact that I don’t feel guilty after enjoying any of Souper Jenny’s dishes. Everything tastes extremely fresh and like it was made with love. I feel like Jenny may actually genuinely care about me as a person, though she doesn’t know me from a serving of quinoa. Plus, the ingredient pairings are so unique. I read some of the menu items in confusion, but they just work. I haven’t had a thing I didn’t enjoy. And I’ve tried so many different food items that I’d never think to eat. I know some people complain that it’s a bit pricey for lunch. But I know I’ve spent at least twice as much some places, but didn’t get the same goodness and quality. Jenny, you’re my girl… just take my money. We look out for each other. That’s what friends are for.

Super cute place. The people working there just seemed bored. The food is sort of hit or miss, some of it is amazing and other food items are just alright. I totally dig the self service and clean up, but they need to switch out the dirty dish bin more often, I could hardly fit my dishes in there without worrying that something was going to fall out and break. Definitely willing to try it out again.

Souper Jenny opened a Westside(West Midtown) location January 2015 in the old Urban Pl8 space. The café/restaurant originated in Buckhead where it’s been very popular, often with lines out the door, serving soups, salads, and sandwiches. At the time of writing this review, there are four locations: Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, and Westside. Fortunately, this Westside outpost is nowhere near as busy as the Buckhead original. You can get your food fast with little to no waiting. The restaurant has an industrial/warehouse aesthetic with a cozy, parking-lot-view patio. The high ceiling interior has an open setup where the dining room, kitchen, and ordering line share a single congruous space. The dining room features a mish-mash of homey wooden tables and chairs beneath a tall cartoon mural of Jenny with fruits and vegetables beneath her feet and a recognizable Atlanta skyline behind her. Soups, salads, and sandwiches are prepared fresh daily and placed on the ordering line, available for immediate consumption. There’s a freezer just inside the entrance(«The Official Souper Jenny Freezer of Yumminess») which contains frozen take-home quarts of Jenny’s soups. Frozen quarts are normally $ 12 each, but there are periodically sales when you can get them for $ 9 each or as low as $ 5 each. Jenny’s Westside Facebook page is a good place to check for sales: . Each soup, salad, and sandwich is typically priced at $ 7 each. There’s a $ 14 lunch special that includes any two $ 7 items plus bread, a piece of fruit, a cookie, and a fountain drink or tea. A special brunch menu is served every Sunday from 9am-3pm. This place is not open for dinner. What I like most about Souper Jenny is the food is both healthy and tasty. A good example is the«Green Goddess» sandwich which comes with cucumber, mozzarella, avocado, sprouts, tomato, arugula, and a housemade dressing. For a sandwich with no meat, it’s actually pretty delicious thanks mostly to the soft, creamy, and mouthwatering mozzarella. The veggies are crisp and fresh and the sandwich is served on a not-too-salty pretzel bun. The Grilled Chicken & Ham sandwich is packed with plenty of lean meat. It comes with pineapple salsa, pepper jack cheese, and greens inside a pita pocket. I believe only chicken breast is used in this sandwich. There’s so much meat and not enough salsa that this sandwich ends up feeling a bit«dry» to me. As far as filling you up for lunch, this sandwich serves its purpose. «My Dad’s Turkey Chili» is one of Jenny’s signature«soups» along with the Chicken Tortilla soup. The chili is quite good, containing whole beans and hearty, flavorful turkey meatball chunks. It reheats in the microwave well and is pretty warming and comforting. If you like chili, I definitely recommend it. If you don’t mind your pee smelling, try the Grilled Asparagus salad. I love asparagus and this salad is A-OK. It comes with sliced red and yellow bell peppers, mozzarella, basil, and lemon vinaigrette. Like the Green Goddess sandwich, the delectable morsels of mozzarella steal the show. The salad is tossed with just the right amount of dressing. Cookies are available and self-serve out of a cookie jar next to the register. I’ve tried both the chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies and they are yummy. I prefer the peanut butter over the chocolate chip, but both are good. Fresh fruit is available in box(es) next to the entrance. There’s also a King of Pops freezer in the back corner next to the water dispenser. Jenny’s is an excellent to-go option since the service is quick and the food packs and travels nicely. Eating utensils, containers, and bags are all relatively sturdy and high quality. If dining in, there’s a bus tub in front of the fountain drink machine where you can put your used bowls and dishes when you’re finished. The servers are cool, there’s plenty of parking, and the patio is dog-friendly.

I had tried the Souper Jenny in Buckhead once a long time ago and didn’t have much of an opinion on it. I remember the food being good, but not being super impressed for some reason. A friend at work suggested that we go here for lunch last week and I decided to give it another try. Apparently this location has opened not too long ago. I didn’t know what to expect when I came as their menu was not posted for that day. They had two choices of soup, three salads, and 2 choices of sandwiches. I wasn’t in the mood for soup as it was pretty hot outside, so I was looking at the sandwiches and salads. Their greek salad did not look appetizing, it looked like the lettuce had wilted from the amount of dressing, but their tuna salad looked really good. It was. It had a lot of flavor and was crunchy and fresh. I decided to split the lunch combo(sandwich and salad) with a friend so we got the vegetable sandwich as well. It was fairly bland, but it tasted fresh, so it was ok… We got a cookie to go with it, which was gooey and delicious. The combo was $ 15, which is silly expensive… Which, when it is split, is reasonable… just a bit pricier than I would have expected for a place that just has a couple options for lunch. Good atmosphere here though, will probably go back whenever someone suggests it.

Got scoutmob and went there for brunch with a friend. The food was disgusting. Inedible! I got quiche and the potatoes. The quiche was the consistency of jellow, and the potatoes were cold and tasted as if they had been made the day before. My friend got the Gouda grits, they were runny and flavorless. Her scrambled eggs meh. Maybe they are a good lunch place but they definitely don’t know what they are doing when it comes to breakfast!

Souper Jenny’s food is like what I wish I could make for myself for lunch everyday. Fantastic salads, hearty soups, and all fairly healthy. Granted, the food costs a bit more than a typical soup + salad joint, but you’re paying for quality here. My favorites: turkey chili and kale salad. Oh did I mention it comes with a free cookie? What I love about the Westside location is that the open room feels like you’re eating in a child’s reading room. There are fun colors, and a lively mural on the bright yellow wall. If you’re looking for a casual but great quality lunch to grab with friends or co-workers,(or even by yourself), Souper Jenny’s is where it’s at.

A new lunch option near work? And I can enjoy Souper Jenny more than on the days I happen to be working from home? Count me in! I’ve always been a Souper Jenny fan. However, the Buckhead location is always so packed. It’s hard to find a seat, the tables are small and I always feel rushed to make a decision on my order between the time I can see today’s options and when it’s my turn to order. Plus there is a giant line waiting behind me. This location offers the same yummy food with no line and plenty of tables plus a great patio to enjoy on nice days! There is even a decent size parking lot which is rare in this part of town. I’m not a super adventurous eater(although I like to pretend to be). Souper Jenny has so many great options on any given day and they are nothing like what I would order at a typical lunch spot. I love that it allows me to be adventurous and I haven’t once not liked my order. Today I enjoyed farro with grilled artichokes, asparagus, snow peas and arugula and a fresh melon dressing. I don’t even know what faro is but Wikipedia tells me it is composed of the grains of certain wheat species. And it was delicious! Perfect for a light lunch! The only downside of Souper Jenny is the price. If you want a salad(or sandwich) and a soup, you can expect to pay at least $ 10. If you can contain your ordering, you can get a great lunch for under $ 10.

«You know the best decision I ever made was stepping into the store and buying that first sandwich.» — Furious Seven(2015) I’m a Souper Jenny fan and have been for YEARS! So the fact that I can now avoid the crazy lines in Buckhead make me so very happy. I mean, look, I get it. Everyone is dying for a healthy lunch and SJ does an amazing job, but that line and the smallish place in Buckhead gave me fits — so I got to the point where I would dread going on a busy workday. But now, there are more locations and Westside is now my favorite! I won’t lie, Urban Pl8 was a favorite of mine, so I was sad when it shuttered. However, to have SJ take its place certainly softens the blow. I came with Tanya C. for lunch on a Friday and it was not too busy when we got there. We walked in and were immediately helped and the menu options were plentiful. I always have a hard time deciding. I knew I wanted soup — and they had so many options that looked enticing. But I opted for the Greek Spinach and Orzo. It was packed with mushrooms, spinach and orzo and had a nice kick to it that was just under the surface, so not too over powering. I also selected the Strawberries and brie sandwich — a new favorite for sure! On a ciabatta roll, a thin layer of strawberry preserves, a huge handful of fresh arugula, giant slices of brie and tons of fresh strawberry slices. I mean WOW. Sweet, salty from the cheese, peppery from the arugula — the perfect combo. I was quite sad when I took my last bite. It also came with a wheat roll, drink and cookie — a great combo deal! Plenty of seating both inside and out and it was not too loud, so we could have our conversation without having to yell at one another. We enjoyed our lunch, a nice young woman came and cleared our plates when we were finished and free drink refills — the perfect lunch. The biggest issue is Huff Road — A) it is in desperate need of repaving and B) the traffic is always backed up on this street — no matter the time of day. So if you have to be somewhere after, make sure to leave in plenty of time to get there. I’ll be back to this location again and again — love you SJ, keep up the amazing work!

It really pains me to give this place a 3 stars, the food is BYFAR5 stars. Value is 5 stars. Atmosphere(awesome patio, though could use a few more tables out there) is 4.5 stars. But here’s the issue — you can’t say you serve brunch until 3pm and then basically run out of half food and all of the vegetarian options at 1:30. Me a few friends(two of which are vegetarian) were s(o)uper excited to go to this new Souper Jenny’s. We’ve long been a fan of Café Jonah(owned by the same folks) and obviously a fan of brunch(we are young females after all), so getting a new location with Souper Jenny’s interesting serving style(pick 3 items + coffee or juice + biscuit) AND a Scoutmob deal seemed too good to be true. We come at about 1:15(brunch goes until 3), and they had several options left for their pick 3. But the waffle bar was gone(how hard is it to make more waffle batter?) A couple other options had obviously been crossed off the menu too. The vegetarian options left? Fruit(and we got the last 2 servings) and Eggs+cheese. Literally, THAT’S IT. Breakfast is easy to do vegetarian — did you really have to put ham in that quiche? And bacon in those grits? And no veggie sausage or anything? Additionally, before 2pm they were packing everything left into plastic to-go containers and would just dump it out of that if someone came in to order(which isn’t exactly appealing as a customer). They also(before 2pm) took down the entire topping bar(which was AWESOME, jams, whipped cream, yogurt, choc chips, nuts) so there was nothing to put on the biscuits or fruit. I asked them about this, and a server said«what do you want»? And they just went and got it. Which was accommodating… but you shouldn’t have to be accommodating over an hour before you close. So, if you’re a customer — come early. If you’re in charge of Souper Jenny’s — do a little logistics planning and figure out how to make it a more satisfactory experience for those of us who brunch in afternoon. Thx. :)

I was bummed when Urban PL8 closed, but am SOOOO glad Souper Jenny’s is here in Westside! I love the space, and the location is great(2 blocks from my home!). They have a daily variety of different sandwiches and salads. So far I’ve tried the Chicken Cordon Bleu and Turkey and Gouda sandwiches and the Caprese salad. ALL delicious, flavorful and FRESH!!! But their staple is YUMMY soups!!! I’ve had the Italian Chicken and Vegetable and Lamb Masoukka. Incredible selections, again varies daily – so you always get to try something new! And they have prepared soups to-go as well! It’s a fast and friendly service and a great lunch spot! In and out in under 30 mins! Great atmosphere, too! Give a it a whirl and you won’t be let down! Newest samplings: Chicken, White Bean, Broccoli soup is delicious! Paired that with a Caprese sandwich that was expertly prepared.

It’s as good as everyone says. I came in with my Scoutmob for the pints of soup to go. We were confused if not overwhelmed bu the choices at first. We asked for help and one of the ladies kindly explained what was inside each pint. We settled on the Sweet Potato Coconut Corn and the Lamb Moussaka(boy was this one hardy). Sweet Potato Coconut corn is very light, sweet and full of corn and chunky sweet potato bites. Lamb Moussaka contained egg noodles, lamb meat and cooked in a red stew. I would not say one was better than the other since they were so different. I would come back and get either again for sure. Also got a sandwich with apples, jam, brie, arugula and spinach on a fluffy white bread. It was amazing. They had a smoked Gouda and pimento spread($ 8) in the fridge that was delicious! The pints of soup are $ 12($ 9 on Sat or Sun), $ 7 for a bowl and they do offer a cup. Sandwiches are $ 7 and Salads are around the same. If you get a soup and a sandwich you’re already at $ 15 here. It’s not cheap but when you use fresh ingredients the flavor is unbeatable and worth every penny. They do offer Sunday brunch from 9am-3pm with BYO liquor for the orange juice provided! Looking forward to coming back soon. You never know what fresh soup they offer, make sure to check out the fridge or freezer if you want soups to take home. Plenty of parking too since its in a shopping center.
