A year ago for brunch I had the Crab Benedict here and it was deliciou. The crabcrake was a perfectly flaky with slivers of green onion and lightly drizzled hollandaise sauce. My eating partner had the strawberry french toast. Both plates totally hit the spot. Fast forward 6 months later and we go back in to find the décor completely changed, losing the unique appeal it had before. I thought nothing of it and we both ordered the same dishes. Though my eating partner’s plate turned out to be just as good, my dish was very different. For a moment, I had to make sure I was in the same place. The crabcake was very soggy and the hollandaise practically drowned the rest of my food. Speaking to a few people, I found out that they switched owners causing the food quality to decline. I am sad to see it close as I wanted to try out their tapas menu.

This place is now closed. I’m saddened because I want more restaurants in this area. Nuevo Laredo is always hopping, Bone Garden seems to be pretty steady but those are really all we have west of Howell Mill except weekday-lunch-only places like Carver’s and Olympic Flame.

I didn’t know what to expect when I went here since it was brand new and I had never heard of it. We walked in and the restaurant was completely empty. The staff looked shocked that they had customers. The six of us decided to order everything on the menu. There were a couple of pretty good dishes, but the majority of it was average to bad. The worst thing by far were the turkey burgers. They tasted really greasy and I literally had to spit it out. The chicken livers were an equally bad experience. There is honestly nothing that I tried that stood out as noteworthy or delicious. The atmosphere was pretty bad since we were the only people in the restaurant and the wait staff was watching a show on the TV above us. So, all in all it was a pretty bad dining experience. Maybe after they have been open for a while longer it will be better.

I like this area of town. It’s so off the beaten path, more so since I’m transportationally-challenged. Went to this place for brunch. I got the seafood crepes. It was really good! It came with 3 crepes filled with shrimp, crab, and cream cheese. But that was all it came with! For $ 11 I expected it to come with at least some potatoes or toast. Mom got the signature vanilla cognac french toast but it was pretty un-exciting. The atmosphere is pretty bare and un-inviting. With a warm title like«Milk & Honey» I imagined I’d be sitting in grammy’s kitchen. That plus the the overpriced menu makes me think they’re trying too hard to be chi-chi.

I was headed to lunch at Carver’s, despite already being a bit fried chicken-ed out from my prior week of feasting. I saw a sign for Milk and Honey, touting lunch specials and tapas, and I quickly decided that a non-fried lunch may be the way to go. Carver’s can wait till tomorrow, no? I was one of the few people in the place and was quickly greeted by Heather. The menu looked great: pulled pork sliders, warm chicken salad, and various tapas. I couldn’t make a decision, so I asked Heather her favorite: turkey burger with asian potato salad it is! The turkey burger was good and I really liked the asian potato salad: almost like a potato curry. Definitely some solid food. The space is really nice and open and although it’s a little off the beaten path, I could see returning for a drink or two. They’re working on an outside patio that could definitely be a favorite spot in the warmer months. Free wi fi!

Went on a weeknight, we were literally the only people there. It’s a nice space, but it was cold. The server was friendly but things like getting our drinks took a long time considering there was no one else in there. We ordered 3 tapas for each person(3 for $ 15) and two of those were calamari. A few minutes later the waitress said they were out of calamari so we ordered something else. Then she came back and said«oh wait, the cook just found some calamari». I said, «where, under a stove?», and she laughed. The tapas were not bad, but nothing special by any means. The hot wing was too difficult to eat with a fork and there was so much sticky sauce that i didn’t bother trying to eat it with my hands. The calamari was below average and my friend ate a piece of it that made him immediately run to the bathroom and throw up. We told them the calamari was bad and they said they’d take care of it. They left it on the bill anyways and we didn’t complain because we felt bad about how empty the place was. I will not be returning.

Ok, I want to love this place, I really do. But I need some consistency in my life. And I need to know that if I wake up early(read: before noon) on a Sunday and drive my lazy butt over there, I’m going to be able to get some good brunch. Well, a few Sundays ago, a friend and I decided to head on over to Milk & Honey. To our dismay, when we got there the place was closed and a sign on the door explained that they were undergoing renovations. Fine, OK. Fast forward to this past Sunday: Once again, we drove aaaaaall the way over to Midtown expecting some deliciousness, and it turns out, they stopped serving brunch a month ago! WTF! They now serve tapas. I mean, c’mon. The waitress said they’ll begin brunch again next week. We left and went to Social House. So c’mon Milk & Honey, PLEASE get it together. You’re too good for this, and I’ve seen too many good businesses go under because of inconsistent service. I’ll give you one more shot, don’t disappoint!

So last weekend I took the parents – in town from good olé North Carolina – to Milk and Honey for brunch on Sunday. I had been once before and had a pretty good experience overall: no wait, good staff, tasty food, decent prices. All of the key components for a nice brunch. We arrived around 1030a and it was pretty dead, just one or two tables of newspaper-reading coffee drinker types. We sat outside on the covered patio since it was a gorgeous breezy morning and not too hot yet. Service: Our waitress came right away with the menus but took forever to do every other thing the whole time we were there. Menu: All the delicious regular brunch fare… with many options for french toast, from butterscotch to raspberry jelly-filled; eggs any way you like them, homestyle potatoes, omelets with lots of ingredient options; and a yummy-sounding yogurt parfait thing that I am definitely trying next time. What we got: I got eggs over-easy that came with homestyle potatoes and a fluffy biscuit with a honey glaze on top(being a true Southerner, I am very discerning when it comes to biscuits). All delicious, especially the potatoes, which are cut in chunky pieces and cooked with herbs and onions and and make for a savory side dish. My dad and boyfriend both got omelets which each came with the potatoes and toast, I think, and my mom got the raspberry jelly filled french toast. They all seemed pretty happy except that Mom had to send back her original french toast because they put strawberries on top and she’s allergic. Bad stuff: Our waitress was not really knowledgeable about anything; like when my dad and boyfriend ordered a side of potatoes to split, she should have said that their omelets came with them already(it did not say that on the menu, and the french toast doesn’t have sides listed, and doesn’t come with any), instead of letting us order extra. And again, she took forever to do everything. There was another table who came in after us who had a different waitress, and got everything(drinks, food, bill) at least 10 minutes before we did. The manager did come out to check on us after Mom sent back the french toast, but it seemed like our waitress had told on us or something because the manager seemed worried about us being unhappy. Also, we didn’t get the Fruit Loops/Corn Pops munchie bowl this time like we did when I went before. Good stuff: The food is delicious. That’s a big selling point obviously, and definitely overshadows the bad service thing. Prices are not bad, I would say two people could have brunch for $ 30 or so including tip. Not too crowded, although it was filling up when we were leaving a little before noon. I think people just don’t know about it since it’s kind of in a random location, although not too far down past Figo. All in all, I really like it and I’d go back again for round three.

I liked the space and I liked that there was no wait and I like that there was a ton of parking but the menu choices and the food were just OK. I ordered coffee before anything else and, while the coffee had a nice flavor, it was literally lukewarm at best. I got one refill but then our server seemed to forget about me when she refilled everyone else. Even when I got my refill, the coffee was still not hot. The menu offers a plethora of choices for French toast. I thought some sounded good, some sounded interesting, and some sounded like they’d be too sweet and more like dessert. I was not overly excited by the other menu options. I really enjoy omelettes when they come with grits or potatoes or a biscuit or something, but the only omelette option(choose your own ingredients) did not come with these sides while the other egg options, about which I was less than enthused, did come with sides. Maybe it was just me, but of all the varied combinations of eggs with something, I could not find a combination that had what I wanted. I was not alone as I did discuss this with two other people at our table and we all considered just ordering a la carte to get closer to what we wanted. At least we had that option and I was also pleased to discover that they would do some substitutions very graciously. I had the breakfast that had two eggs, a biscuit, home fries and bacon. I substituted cheese grits for the home fries and was surprised to see that a croissant had been substituted for the biscuit, as well. I didn’t like this — I really wanted a biscuit and the croissant just did not seem to go well with my scrambled eggs and grits. The grits were good, the eggs were standard scrambled eggs, the croissant was blah, and the bacon was crispy. It was a lot of food and definitely filled me up. I didn’t really dislike this place and I would come again if someone else wanted to go, but I would probably not be the one to suggest it. Although, I sort of feel like I should give them another try and maybe get French toast to see how it is. And, our server seemed nice and was cool with splitting our check a whole bunch of ways.

Thrilled that I finally was going to be in town on a Sunday, I was excited to try a new place! Worried that like other great brunch spots it would fill up quickly, I arranged for the group of ladies to be there around 10:30. I’m sure Milk and Honey was thrilled because we were 6 of the 7 customers. So when West Egg and Social House are too crowded, take a spin down Huff and try this place. We were prompted waited on. The décor was nice enough, but with round tables, it made for a slightly awkward group arrangement. And after our orders were taken, we nibbled on the bowls of Fruit Loops and Corn Pops — which seems like a good idea, but they were slightly stale… Most of us got some version of eggs, grits, and meat, with one plate of french toast and one plate of yogurt parfait. I had the Brooklyn breakfast: two eggs(over medium) with cheese grits, maple pork sausage, and fried green tomatoes. The cheese grits had great texture, but their saltiness required some hot sauce to balance out the flavor. The fried green tomatoes also had good texture, but they were a little too greasy and also could have used some kind of tangy sauce for balance. The sausage was delicious — not too dry or too sugary. All in all delicious and not crowded, definitely will be back! And I must say a chuckled a little when I saw the deck at Social House crowded with people waiting for their seats!

Hmm, this place took over Pangaea, a place I really miss cause they had the best Bahn Mi, or rather, the only Bahn Mi in Atl without having to travel too far for an in-towner like me. I tried Milk and Honey this past weekend for brunch, since I live like 5 mins from it and read some good reviews on here. Fruit Loops keep you happy while your food arrives. However, i felt like the breakfasts deserved a side and they refused to substitute bacon with homefries for my vegetarian friends. Service was pretty good overall and coffee was great, however my Brooklyn breakfast was bland. The fried green tomatoes were too oily and nothing had seasoning. It all tasted a lot better after some salt and pepper, but overall my meal was mediocre. I’ll give it another chance and try the French Toast next time, but right now, i’ll give it a 3.

Hope you have a sweet tooth. Milk and Honey starts with sugar, continues with sugar, and ends with sugar. Fruit Loops and Corn Pops come out to keep you busy awaiting your breakfast. The Milk & Honey sweet tea is pure sugar. I can see that some people may love this although it was too sweet for me, but I’m from the Northeast so what do I know. This place has many interesting variations of french toast. I got the Vanilla/Cognac, and while the french toast was pretty decent, I didn’t taste the vanilla or cognac(dang). My wife had the Milk and Honey pancakes which I feel was the much better choice. Slightly sweeter than your normal pancake, and cooked perfectly. The best part about Milk and Honey, is that you don’t have to wait 1 hour plus for standard breakfast foods like most places in the ATL. Their outside porch is nice and relaxing with people trickling in and out for breakfast/bruch. I think they are still trying to figure out the service aspect, although they were friendly and worked hard while short staffed. I’ll be back… because waiting in lines for breakfast foods is a big waste of nice Sunday mornings…

Butterscotch and Vanilla Cognac,… French toast? Yes! and Oh how wonderful it was. Milk and Honey is a bit of the beaten path, but it’s a road well worth traveling down. The space is open and cozy and great for breakfast or brunch. Our brunch actually began with a free«appetizer» or fruit loops and corn pops, which was cute although I hate cereal. The Watermelon/Mint sweet tea is to die for(thinking to myself I must replicate that recipe!) on my next visit I will have to try the biscuits, they looked so fluffy and Delicious I was envious of the couple sitting next to us who had ordered them!

So Mr Broke Socialite and I slept in this morning and… yawwwwnnnn…I had no intentions of making breakfast/brunch after catering an engagement for twenty last night. Since we live on the westside, I’d seen the sign for MAH whilst traveling on Huff Road and thought we should give it a try. Mr TBS had the Vanilla Cognac french toast with turkey bacon. Even though he is a french toast snob, it was up to par says he. Since I am a country girl and prefer a basic breakfast, I had 2 eggs sunny side up, cheese grits, bacon and biscuits. I, being the biscuit snob, was not impressed by their offering at all… too, too doughy. Otherwise, my platter was great… it was exactly what I wanted. The only thing that troubled me was the canned soft drinks. I know some places go this route and I understand. All in all, I hope this place survives. They’ve free wifi and look to be preparing to extend their hours into the evening. The location is ripe for success.

We went here last weekend for breakfast. Since friends had been before for lunch, they informed us that they were open 24⁄7(as their large banner outside implies)…so when we showed up at 930am on Saturday, didn’t think it’d be a big deal — well… they weren’t open yet. Since we wanted to try out a new neighborhood place, we waited it out… in the mean time, we saw at least 3 other groups drive up leave when they realized they weren’t open. When we finally were seated(at 10a — apparently their«new hours» are 10 – 5) and greeted by our half awake server, we were served fruitloops and cornpops as an appetizer. So far the most exciting thing was the cute atmosphere of the place(we were on the patio, but the inside has cute décor as well). We were pleasantly surprised by the food when it arrived– cognac and vanilla french toast, shrimp and grits, and crabcakes bendict with fried green tomatoes were all delicious. By the time we were done, there were a good amount of people dining. We’ll definitely try it out again assuming it’s actually open.

I’m going to have to agree with Naoya with this one! This definitely is the«Find of the Year!» David wanted something different from the daily grind. Since we were in West Midtown and I had pretty much versed every place to eat(which he rejected all of them) I remembered Milk and Honey from Unilocal as well as from the Blissful Glutton’s blog. I was very excited to try the place out! Located at the old Pangea, they really have changed the interior to more of a brunch lounge… whatever that means?! We decided to sit inside and our waitress was very nice and helpful. She recommended the Milk and Honey Sweet Tea and that today’s flavor was Watermelon Tea! Now, I may not look like it, but I am a Southern Boy and I love me some sweet tea! I also grew up on eating watermelon and spittin seeds at girls… so the combination was like heaven to me! This tea was like licking honey from a bumble bee’s bum… pure sweetness and straight from the source! I think i had about 8 glasses… hence the 3 mile run I went on after wards! I decided to go for breakfast while David choose lunch. I got the Eggs, Bacon, Potatoes and Biscuit Platter and David got the Blackened Chicken Salad. I enjoy my eggs Over Medium and this is one of the few places in Atlanta that made my eggs to perfection!!! David enjoyed his salad and it was enough to feed a litter of bunnies and then some. We cannot wait to come back and it looks like they are going to start serving dinner as well as open their bar! Oh and free wi-fi too!!! Fantastic place that helped remind me why I love living in Atlanta!

My introduction to Milk and Honey was quite a pleasant surprise. A great friend and I had decided to shake off the prior week’s stresses via some great food and thrilling action flick this past Sun afternoon. While deciding where we’d grab grub she received a call from another great friend who recommended a new brunch spot on Huff Road, Milk and Honey. After a quick search online, I was a bit scared. It seemed people liked the place but there was no menu in sight. Feeling adventurous and ready for some laughs I hopped in to the car and raced over to Peachtree Hills. From the minute I pulled up I knew this place would be a fave. The space exudes an openess and warmth that is great for summer Sundays in Atlanta. Add to that the creative mix of available French toasts on the brunch menu and you’re officially hooked. Our waitress was kind enough to recommend the Milk and Honey Iced Tea. I wasnt all too thrilled seeing as though being borne and bred in Atl had not conditioned my taste buds to like iced tea. .but from the first sip I was hooked. I cant tell you whats in it, why its different(you just have to try it… trust me). Hats off to the owners of this establishment, I will be a regular. The food, the prices, the tea and the atmosphere are all a plus. Thank you!
