Worst burger EVER! Extremely salty. As a chef i understand coming in late can upset employees. But there is no reason 45 minutes before you close, you make an inedible burger for my girlfriend and me. I will let every friend know how disgusting smash burger is. I only wish Unilocal had a negative rating…

Smash out all the greasy goodness and make the patty super thin. Who came up with this idea? Want a good burger? Go somewhere else.

The burger & fries are really good and doesn’t fill you up like some burgers that make you feel heavy. I will definitely go back to this place.

Worst burger taste ever! Onion rings tasted like salt rings. Workers wanting to Close early so cleaned everything up and won’t allow you to order shakes even though we got there at 8pm and they close at 10pm. Very poor service! Never coming back! I rather drive further for better service!

Good burger, I’m not a huge fan of shoestring fries or whatever they are called but overall good food especially since I’m new to the area and don’t know much of what is around. This was an easy walk away and it caught my attention.

After three visits I can say I really like these burgers. Now when I’m craving a thick, juicy burger I point my car to Smashburger. There are so many burger joints around, you’d think the concept was pretty fleshed out, but new places keep popping up like acne on a teenager’s face. And each one tries to put its own spin on the concept. Smashburger rolls their beef into a ball and when you order they smash the ball onto a hot grill. They say it sears the burger and seals in the juices. As a concept it seems gimmicky and contrived. Is it true? Who knows. They do serve a juicy burger but I attribute that to the burger being cooked to order. They also offer Smash Sauce, which is relish, mayo and ketchup, not much special there, either. They’ve created nine burger combinations(bbq, bacon & cheddar, avocado club, truffle mushroom swiss, spicy jalapeño baja — you get the picture), plus a local recipe. Or you can create your own burger. You start with a choice of four buns which is a nice touch. When’s the last time your fast food joint offered something as simple as a multi-grain bun or a gluten-free option? Then you choose from five different cheeses like aged swiss, blue cheese, goat cheese, pepper jack or sharp cheddar. Are you starting to see how they distinguish themselves from the typical fast food joint? You also get a slew of free toppings or you can add one of five premium toppings — think applewood smoked bacon, fresh avocado, fried egg — for $ 1 more. I’m pretty much a burger purist and the Classic has satisfied me just fine. You won’t find me adding spinach or cucumbers to my burger. Two things I don’t like. They need to learn how to cut a nice slice of red onion and get rid of the one or two limp strands I find on my burger. And I’m not a fan of shoestring fries, the potato they’ve matched with their burgers. They’re tiny and small with minimal taste. I want something meaty with more potato taste. Overall, this is a terrific burger, thick and juicy, just like you’d make at home on your own grill. You’ll definitely need napkins. And they serve it on a bun that’s big enough to handle the heft of the burger. This is way better than Cook Out, another recent addition to the local burger scene that had taken things to a higher level. Smashburger does it even better. For a big, juicy, delicious burger, head to Smashburger.

Living in New Orleans has spoiled me. Everywhere you go, they season the meat. Even at some McDonalds. This Smashburger was not my fave. Fries were served cold. I mean like old and cold. They brought me new fries. The burger was decent, but lacked the good seasoning of the Magazine St. Smashburger in New Orleans that in use to. I have no more desire to come back. :(

This place has amazing food. The burgers are always so flavorful. And don’t even get me started on the fries. I really love it because they have chicken burgers which at least make me feel like I’m eating healthy even if it’s still smothered in cheese. I rate the location so poorly because on a Saturday at 2 pm it has taken 45 minutes to receive my food. I understand that they are full(no tables available) but for that wait I should have been warned before ordering! No one has come to acknowledge the poor service or apologize for the extreme wait. Fast casual isn’t so fast anymore. Thoroughly disappointed since the food is so tasty. Make sure you visit when they’re dead!

Mediocre burger at best, poor staff, and overall it wasn’t the most enjoyable experience. The burger came without tomatoes and when we asked about it, they said they were currently out of it, and the manager was on his way to get some. We were not told this at the time of placing the order. I asked for cucumbers and received several slices, and when my bf also requested some, they said this was the last of it and they did not have anymore. We were going to place an order for their milkshake but they were also out of it at the time as well. So really, I don’t know why they were even open because they surely weren’t stocked properly.

I have been here — waiting on a burger for an hour. One hour! Chaos happened here today. The place was slammed when we came in – but it’s a pretty Saturday. I don’t know if the computers crashed– or if this is just general incompetence. Regardless — it has been horribly managed. It’s sad — because the burgers here are really great. But the management here clearly has no idea how to manage this little crisis.

I wanted a burger for lunch and didn’t have a lot of time on my hand so I looked up Smashburger since it has an online ordering option. Smashburger has different types of burgers and also allows the option to customize your own burger. From reading previous reviews, I decided to get a big burger and create my own since I was hungry and didn’t want to end up with a small burger. You start by choosing your bun type: egg, multi-grain or chipotle. Then you have a selection of cheeses sauces that you can choose from. Finally, you get to select your toppings but some cost extra such as bacon or a fried egg. I decided to get a big burger with an egg bun, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg. As for fry options, they have regular fries, sweet potato fries, and fries with added seasoning. The SmashFries are fries topped with olive oil, rosemary and garlic and the spicy buffalo fries are similar to a cajun-style seasoning. I decided to get an order of each of the SmashFries and buffalo fries in order to try both while opting for no drink. I placed my order for a 1130 pickup and as soon as I got there, my meal was already ready for pick-up. The burger tasted fine but didn’t blow my mind. Like others have said before, the burgers are relatively small compared to those of other burger joints even the so called«big» burger. As for the fries, I enjoyed both types of fries but preferred the SmashFries. The buffalo fries were more salty than actually spicy so didn’t actually have too much special flavor. Overall, the experience was decent given the timeliness of the order and the average quality of the food.

Came here because as a burger lover, I like to try every burger around and this one is right down the street from me. I actually hadn’t noticed it because the sign looks just like the GameStop sign and in my head they were both GameStops… I thought it would be the same as Five Guys only not as good, but it’s actually fancier/more restauranty than Five Guys. They’ve got some different things you can put on your burger which I like. The first time I got the mushroom truffle swiss burger with bacon and it was good. The second time I got the one with jalapenos — also good although it had a few too many jalapenos for my mouth. The smash fries they have are tasty. They’re like steak n shake fries with rosemary and garlic(? or something like that, can’t remember exactly.) People are nice there and they supposedly make your burgers from scratch! I believe it. My main grievance is that the burgers are pretttyyy greasy and leave quite a bit of grease in your hands/on the paper the burger was sitting on. Super reasonable prices though, and I’m sure I’ll continue to go back!

The black bean burger is FIRE. I’ve had a fair share of black bean burgers at different establishments, and this is one of the best. The fries are ok. They are thin. Not my favorite.

I came here for lunch. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. But honestly, this was my first time trying out the chain, and it was kind of a letdown. I had higher expectations based on what I’d heard from friends. I now think they’re overrated. I can think of a handful of better burger places.

My review is for their food truck(could not find a separate Unilocal entry for it). Good basic burger. Good meet. Good gluten free bun. Love that they only use butter on grill. Very easy for them to work with food allergies. Generally not a big food truck fan, and don’t know other food truck burgers to compare it to, but would definitely get again.

Perfectly adequate spot to get a burger fix. The fries weren’t fresh but the burger was good, though slightly overcooked. Personally I’m more of a fan of Five Guys Burgers. However, as it is nearby I’m not done reviewing and will give it another shot. I’ll post my update in a few weeks.

Overall Smash Burger serves a pretty decent burger, they have an eclectic variety of burgers to choose from as well as several types of fries, salads, and milkshakes. We came in a little after 4PM, there were only a few tables occupied, thus the wait was minimal and our our order came out quickly. In addition, the customer service was fantastic — our cashier could not have been nicer or more helpful. She even allowed us to redeem a free side coupon if we did the customer survey while in the restaurant, and I’m not one to say no to free fries. For my entrée, I chose the ‘Georgia’ burger — which features local ingredients, including Williamson Bro. BBQ sauce and pimento or in their case«pimenta» cheese; instead of going with the ‘smash’ beef patty, I subbed it for their crispy chicken patty(I can never say no to fried chicken). I actually enjoyed it this way a lot more — I’ve sampled the burger before with the beef patty — the chicken is tender, well-crisped, and well seasoned. You can’t go wrong with a side of their sweet potato fries either. YUM!

So either socially or for work I am constantly crisscrossing up and down between Midtown and Buckhead. Often times I find myself either popping by here or Grindhouse. Grindhouse feels more like a bar later in the day into the night, so Smashburger is better at night if you are stopping in solo. I usually get Smash fries, a burger with most all of the free Veg toppings, and a strawberry or chocolate shake. If doing all three I tend to try and limit myself to a small Smash. If cutting out the fries or the shake then I will get a Big Smash. The burger meat is good, even if likely very fatty. They seem to use a lot of pepper and maybe like an A1 sauce in their mix. I like it, that works for me. The burger is good and is not a $ 8 – 10 burger, but rather a $ 4 – 6 burger. That works for me too. The fries are nothing special, and the Chili which I tried once was also mediocre at best. But, as for the burgers, the place prides itself on fresh beef and toppings which they prep every morning. The finish product is quite good. The Shakes are also really good here. They are made from Hagen Dazs Ice Cream and are awesome. I basically can’t go back to Steak N Shake milk shakes after drinking these. The place has good quick service and does a good job getting me in and out, hence why I keep coming back.

I had initially heard of Smashburger last year and have driven past this particular location dozens of times but never tried it until recently. A co-worker and I arrived a little after 1 pm on a Wednesday, and there were probably two people in line to order in front of us. Although it’s nice that creative people have the option to «Create Your Own Burger» with over a dozen sauces and toppings to choose from, I’m not one of those people. You can call me lazy or boring, but I’d rather choose an option that others have created and, presumably, loved. A quick scan of the menu also made me realize that it’s actually cheaper to order a signature burger than to «Create Your Own» if you’re a bacon-lover, like me. It took me maybe a minute to decide that I wanted the BBQ, Bacon, & Cheddar Smashburger. I also ordered the Smashfries, which are«Tossed with rosemary, olive oil and garlic.» It sounded way too good to pass up. After ordering and paying, I got a number, left it at my table, and make a quick trip to the restroom. By the time I got back, my burger was waiting for me! I was impressed at how fast it was ready and served! * BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar($ 5.99 for«Smash» size) — Per the menu description, this Smashburger contains«Williamson Bros. BBQ Sauce, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and haystack onions on an egg bun.» I am pleased to report that the burger was just as delicious as it sounds! The smashed Angus beef was juicy and oh-so-flavorful. The bacon was cooked perfectly. This burger was WAY better than those offered at some other burger joints, such as Vortex. * Smashfries($ 1.99) — The fries are only offered at one size, and the ones smothered in rosemary, olive oil, and garlic was the same price as a regular order of fries seasoned with merely sea salt. The first order of Smashfries I got was lukewarm and all short little pieces, so I took them to the counter and requested a fresh batch. I was glad that it wasn’t a hassle for them to give me a new order. In fact, the fresh order was ready in about a minute, and it was brought over to my table. The fresh batch was yummy! It was even better with the ranch and BBQ sauce I had requested to dip my fries in. Overall, Smashburger gets 4 stars for their quick service and delicious Smashburger and Smashfries. For the food alone, I would say 4.5 stars, but I deducted ½ a star because it isn’t cheap. It’s more expensive than fast food but not quite as much as a «gourmet» burger. Apparently, they occasionally have online deal offers, so I’ll be on the lookout for those. I’m a fan, would recommend Smashburger to friends and family, and would definitely return. =) [Review 333 of 366]
