I wanted to love this place so much. Sadly, I did not. The place was not packed on a Saturday night. We dipped in expecting delicious seafood and great service. While our server was friendly, it took a looooong time for every single thing we ordered. The drinks were fair(I tried a Pina Rita and we had a few glasses of Prosecco) and the Oysters Casino were good. I ordered a Lobster Salad that was the smallest plate I have ever seen. At $ 18, it was a huge disappointment. After waiting over an hour for a Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich, it was set down and quickly snatched away with some sort of mumbled explanation about it being the«wrong one.» Yikes. We ended it all with a poorly constructed S’mores dessert. It was a pricey dinner for slow service and not much food.

Went here yesterday with my fiancé and her family. It wasn’t very busy but it took over an hour to get our food! Everyone at my table received their order at different times. The last people to receive their food received it almost an hour after the first people who received their food. We didn’t order enriched uranium or anything, just some different oyster plates and a few grilled cheeses, not really sure what was going on in the kitchen yesterday. We did receive half off of our bill, I will give them an extra star for that. We didn’t have to complain or anything they just did it, so that was nice. It was still pretty expensive even with the half off. Anyways, probably not going back there again.

Great, fresh oysters. Note: They have half-off oysters until 6:30pm every day. I’ve also had the grilled cheese with slaw. Oysters and the grilled cheese make for a great patio combination. Of course, with a cold beer.

First off ample seating. what’s that? The seating that this restaurant has as a whole is very minimal due to location and if you’re not much of a people person I recommend being careful because it is likely that they’ll sit you right(by this I mean arm-to-arm) next to other diners on a busy night. Other than that I recommend ordering as many oysters as you can stomach during their happy hour because they quality is far from disappointing. Their other menu items are very good but definitely not the most filling, which can lead to a more expensive night than you may have originally intended. Other than that, a great clean restaurant to drop some coins and eat some delicious seafood.

I’ve got to start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of seafood. But I really enjoyed Shuck’s. The oysters and mussels here were the star of the show. Cocktail sauce was just right and really added a nice flavor. Service here was also outstanding which helped enhance the experience.

I went during their Happy Hour special which is half off raw oysters only. We also had Oysters Rockefeller which were good — but a little pricy. The server was attentive. The space is small and cozy and tables fill up fast for Happy Hour so get there early! They do have an oyster bar which you can sit at. If you are craving oysters this is a good place to go if you don’t mind spending some money.

Went for dinner last night. Waitstaff was friendly and that’s the only positive part of the experience. I ordered the special — bacon and brie sandwich and a salad. I originally ordered the soup special but it was done for the night so a salad was fine with me. My husband ordered lump crab, clam chowder and salmon. My salad came out first and alone. I shared it with my husband and we assumed his soup would be right up. The next thing to arrive was my sandwich. Still no soup or appetizer for my better half. When he went to the men’s room I told the waiter that this was awkward — my whole meal on the table without anything for him to eat — he assured me that his food would be right up. That’s when I took a bite of my sandwich. It was not brie but american cheese. At this point our waiter, not a food runner or a different waiter, attempted to serve my husband a meal that wasn’t his. This is when we decided to start wrapping it up. My husband asked for the check and the waiter kept saying that his food was about to come up. I saw the manager ask what was going on, she completed the transaction and cashed us out. I learned when we left that we were charged for my whole meal and our drinks. We also received an apology. We did not receive anything that would encourage us to return. So, we went to the Brickstore and had great food within an hour and we even got to eat at the same time.

I went to Shucks at lunch today to try them out only to find the doors locked. It was my fault that I neglected to check their hours but I’m pissed because I called before I left out to ask where they were located and their employee said nothing about being closed for lunch. Oh well, I was really looking forward to trying that lobster slider.

We have been saying we needed to stop by Shucks for their Happy Hour specials of ½ price oysters until 6:30pm & yesterday was finally the day! The fresh, clean atmosphere of this new restaurant in Town Brookhaven immediately draws you into the cozy, modern look & friendly staff. Our server, Joe, was attentive & fun with us throughout our Happy Hour & the food did not disappoint. The Gulf Shore oysters at ½ price were fantastic; fresh, prepared the way they should & presented over ice hit the spot. Between the 3 of us, we threw back 36 oysters, along with the American Grilled Cheese sandwich & slaw & a wedge salad. The grilled cheese is very basic, but at only $ 5, why not?! A glass of wine, a martini & a few Jekyll Blonde Ale’s(Alpharetta) rounded out an awesome after work hangout at Shucks. This Happy Hour special can’t be beat, if you’re craving oysters! My only suggestion would be to have a daily beer special during the same hours as the oyster Happy Hour for maybe $ 3 or $ 4OR have a local House Beer(Cypress Street Pint & Plate does this) for a low price & I would become a regular, for sure!

Go for oysters and ice box! It will not disappoint~ Too bad prices went up for happy hour but oysters were really fresh! Great place to get your fill. Don’t waste your money on lobster rolls though, it was a serious let down… Also, don’t forget the dessert! Their ice box was just perfect ending to a meal.

I’d be lying if I didn’t think this place was going to be a huge flop when it opened, but I was wrong. I’ve even proved own opinion wrong as I’m now a patron. What first drew me in was the happy hour special. This was a KILLER deal. $ 6 for ½ dozen oysters. So basically $ 1 house oysters during those hours which I think lasted until 6:30p. Now they have changed it up, happy hour is now half off each oyster, so order what you want and its half price. This isn’t the same amazing deal BUT still pretty sweet. There are four sauces for the oysters. One is sweet, one is clearly a mignonette etc. I enjoy them all. Outside of oysters the menu is primary based off other seafood items(think crab bisque or etc) and several varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches. My kind of place! :) Be prepared for group style seating or getting cozy with others at the bar. The restaurant doesn’t have a lot of space, so I don’t see it being a great place for children or people looking to have a private conversation. Other than that, pack in and enjoy!

$ 9 for dozen oysters. Not sure if their prices increased, as I read a couple of reviews stating the oysters were only $ 6. Went for happy hour which happens every day before 6:30pm. Not sure if this applies for the weekend as well, as I went on a Thursday. It was relatively busy for opening at 5pm. The restaurant is not particularly large, so I can see it filling up quickly. They have many condiments for the oysters. A couple included a vinegar-y sauce with red onions, another vinergar-y sauce with red chili peppers, and the last one that I believed tasted like a sweetened asian sauce of some sort. Oyster size was inconsistent. The first platter was filled with plump oysters and the second(and third) dozen we ordered were really small. Disappointment. Service was excellent. Drink selection was limited and were priced at $ 9 for a dirty martini.

I absolutely loved this place. My GF brought me there to eat oyster and also the lobster rolls. It’s in a mall place but the place looks just so amazing! Did I mention the lobster rolls??? Seriously Lobster rolls!!! The service was too die far, the ladies were so cool and helpful and down to earth. They oyster sauces are just so amazing and home made! I can’t wait to go back!!!

Really enjoyed the two dozen raw oysters that we ordered during happy hour, especially with the side of Ponzu sauce. And it’s a great deal. However, have to agree with others re: the rather limited menu. I’m all for a simple menu to a certain extent, but there weren’t many options other than some sandwiches, soup, and salads. The clam chowder was good, sandwich was okay(a little small too). So there’s the only reason I took away a star from original 4-star rating. The limited menu keeps me from running back to their awesome happy hour oyster deal.

DOZENOYSTERS — $ 6(reg. $ 12) ½ price for a dozen oysters Mon-Thur 5 – 6:30pm?!! As soon as I read the reviews from Alexa G and Michelle K, I right away suggested Shucks for dinner with one of my good friends — an early dinner of course :) The $ 6 oysters are gulf oysters — I thought they were pretty good; my friend the oyster connoisseur thought they were ok. My big peeve is when I bite into sand but none of the oysters had sand — yay. My only complaint was the size inconsistency — some had nice big pieces but a few were quite small. Honestly hard to complain though when they’re just $ 6. Next time I’d order two dozen, maybe three :) Since it was our first visit, we also tried the much raved about grilled cheese. SHUCKSSIGNATURE5CHEESE — $ 9 To say this grilled cheese was cheesy is an understatement — Cheddar, Monterrey Jack, Gruyère, Mozzarella and Parmesan. Cheese was oozing out and the bread was super buttery which made it really messy to eat. Taste alone, it was good but wasn’t crazy about my greasy fingers. I might recommend a fork and knife for this one. Still if you’re a grilled cheese fan, this might be your dream sandwich. The sandwich also came w/a really yummy pickle and a choice of side — we got the pasta salad which was just ok. ½ SANDWICH, SOUP — $ 10 In order to try more dishes, we got this one — ordering the New England Clam Chowder(also raved about) and Deconstructed French Onion Sandwich. The chowder was disappointing — watery, mostly potatoes, and I don’t remember seeing any clams or bacon. The deconstructed sandwich concept was interesting — sandwich with caramelized onions, gruyère cheese, French bread and au jus dipping sauce … but French Onion just tastes so much better as a soup. Overall 4 stars for Shucks b/c the oyster special is such a great deal and service is very friendly. I’d definitely get the oysters next time and try Taste of Italy(also raved about) and the lobster roll(only available on weekends). FYI — restaurant space is very small, and they’re located next to Noche.

I’d have to say this is by far one of the better H2S Restaurants. Classics with a twist! Loved the communal seating outside along with the homelike vibe I passed through inside. Fresh oysters and surprisingly other fresh seafood. I didn’t get to order much. Lobster po boy, lobster mac and cheese, and oysters. Lobster poboy was amazing and they do not jip you on the lobster at all. Not overwhelmed with a bunch of mayo either. Just the right amount. Lobster mac and cheese is more on the dry pasta side. Which is what I LIKE. i don’t like too much cheese, so this was perfect. I definitely recommend it for a nice casual dinner if you love seafood.

I’m so glad that I finally got a chance to visit this restaurant and take advantage of their happy hour special. The 3 of us were very pleased with the freshness of the raw oyster platters served during the 5 – 6:30 pm, happy hour time frame where a dozen is $ 6.00. You definitely can’t beat the price. We also tried two different grilled cheese sandwiches and they did not disappoint. We had the Tasty Italian and the Sun Dried Goat. If you love balsamic vinagrette and mozzarella cheese, you’ll love the Tasty Italian and we were all digging the Sun Dried Goat grilled cheese as well. I’m a huge fan of goat cheese and avocado so it was perfect! Each slice of bread was perfectly toasted and had a nice«crunch» to them. Back to the oysters… We each finished 2 dozen and were very satisfied as we showed up to the restaurant starving so it hit the spot for all 3 of us. The oysters were perfectly chilled and tasted great with every«slurp.» Loved their horseradish and cocktail sauce combo and they also had 3 homemade sauces available at the table. I like to keep it traditional when it comes to raw oysters so everything was great served as is. Service was fantastic and I look forward to future visits sooner than later. Note: Their happy hour special is only valid from Monday — Thursday between 5:00 — 6:30 pm featuring $ 6/dozen for a tasty platter of raw oysters.

Loved this place! Very cool décor, very friendly and pleasant service, and great food. Food — Wow. Oysters and grilled cheese. What a combo. We tried the half dozen on the ice and half dozen baked. Loved both. The reason for one star loss is actually because the oysters could’ve been cleaned better got a couple of bites with some shell, but other than that WOW! LOVED the 5 cheese grilled cheese. Perfectly crispy, with loads of cheese oozing out of it. Perfection. Loved the various hot oysters, nicely prepared and no skimping on amount of cheese/bacon… Wash it all down with a beer and you are in heaven. Service — Very friendly and accommodating staff. We stopped by on a whim and had our 9-month old baby with us. Probably not the smartest choice on our part, but the staff was accommodating and did whatever they could to make sure we had a good experience. Atmosphere — Really like the simple elegance and comfort. The communal seating works really well here. You can dress up or go casual and either would fit right in. Great place, very much look forward to coming back.

Others have commented on the«limited menu» well I say if you have a few items being made really well who needs lots of options ? Not sure what you want try a combo: The Chowder & Cheese Sandwich Combo($ 10.00) you get to to choose a cup of soup & half a sandwich. * The 5 Cheese — Cheddar, Brie, Gruyère, Mozzarella and Parmesan was oozing cheese I was so thrilled with this adult version I that I actually did a «happy dance» in my chair after the first bite. * Clam Chowder — Was just rich enough with a seafood broth, if you are lucky enough to get a piece bacon in your bowl break it down it compliments the chowder with it’s smoky flavor. In the mood for soup you should see the size of Shucks bowls. When the manager came over and asked if «everything was to my liking? «Hell yes» flew out of my mouth, I quickly apologized as we both laughed. The staff is friendly, seems eager to please and the bonus I got a little education on an oyster I had never had before tonight. The way it had been described to me was«spot on» it was so interesting to see how the flavor profile played out then changed I can honestly say it was a first. Ten minutes later I could still savor the flavor of this West Coast oyster. Open for dinner only.

I’m extremely impressed with this new addition to the Brookhaven promenade family! Our server was excellent and gave us full disclosure on the menu. I love that they serve Gulf, as well as West Coast oysters and a soup-grilled cheese-and salads. We started with a dozen Gulf oysters which are the typical oysters available in GA, saltier and more grey in color ranging in size but never too tiny. We enjoyed the dozen immensely, with the fresh hot and sinus-clearing horseradish, and a bit of cocktail sauce – it was a winner from the jump. So much so we ordered a second round. He gave us three samplings of the Washington Island oysters which had a distinct cucumber aftertaste. The boys weren’t fans but I absolutely fell in LOVE! I ordered a half dozen more, along with a Titanic Salad. The Titanic is essentially an iceberg wedge but I really enjoyed the thick cut bacon that went with the salad. It could’ve been a bit crispier – or rather just a tad bit crispy, but the lack of crunch didn’t take away from the flavor. My bf finished the titanic off by adding a little of their house-made red wine vinegar sauce(intended for oysters). We also got 3 Louisiana Oyster shooters, made with sake house made hot sauce and horseradish, pepper and a sea salt rim served with a lemon wedge. At the bottom of the tall shot is a little oyster. It was different, I liked it. Won’t order it again but it was cool to try. Everyone should. We also got a half dozen Rockefeller oysters. Grilled with cheese and spinach, I honesty thought it should’ve been Way less spinach, more cheese and crispy. Perhaps that’s just how I like my cooked oysters but after I swayed my bf to order the Rockefeller I felt bad that they were a disappointment. No worries as our kickass server brought us 3 bacon cheddar jalapeño oysters on the house and they were better by a marathon. I feel horrible I affected the initial order of the BCS oysters. Cheesy, a bit moist and savory saltiness of the bacon really pulled a 5 star for me. Next time I’ll get a whole order of BCS alone. I drank a nice prosecco that was barely $ 7.95 but bf and his bro enjoyed a beer with their meals. Apparently Guinness really completes an oyster fix but my boo’s bro swore by his Newcastle being the perfect combo for our dinner! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Shucks and I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more variety! TRYTHISPLACE! Come prepared to spend a little cash but hey – 2 dozen gulf oysters, 2 beers, 1 bubbly, 3 Louisiana oyster shooters, 1 titanic salad, 3 west coast oyster testers plus 6 more ordered, and a ½ dozen Rockefeller cooked oysters less than $ 120?! Sounds like a deal to me!
