This is the perfect place for a quick fix on some good food. Plates are always piled high with chicken, steak or shrimp no matter what you purchase. Fast service and its in the Food Court in Perimeter Mall. If you want something something spicy be sure to ask for Red Pepper sauce.

This review is for the Sarku Japan food court stall inside Perimeter Mall. Over the last 15+ years, Sarku has been one of my preferred food court destinations inside Lenox Square. While I don’t visit Perimeter Mall very often, it’s nice to know there’s a Sarku here too. My experience at Perimeter Sarku mirrors that of Lenox: quick, reliable, fresh, and affordable. I stopped by to pick up a Styrofoam boxful of their #1 seller — chicken teriyaki. For $ 5.79, you get a generous portion of rice, vegetables, and chicken. The veggies consist mostly of shredded cabbage and carrots with a little bit of broccoli. As with all Sarku locations, new batches of chicken are constantly being cooked on the flattop grill. Cooking is done in the open so you can see everything come together. Instead of steamed white rice, you can get fried rice, brown rice, or lo mein noodles for $ 0.50 extra. They’ve got«maki rolls» for $ 0.79 and chicken gyoza(dumplings or potstickers) for $ 2.29 for six pieces. The term«maki roll» is misleading because«maki» is a sushi term. The maki rolls here are not sushi, but small, fried spring rolls. While you shouldn’t expect anything great, you can expect solid bang for your buck. I think the portion size is generous, but if you want more meat, you can take advantage of their«double meat» offer(+$ 1.49) and pile it on. This isn’t the healthiest option in the world, but there’s a lot worse to bad had in mall food courts and at least Sarku will fill you up good. Plus, the food is tasty enough. Service is fast. The cashier tried to upsell three different items to me. That was annoying. Cheap plastic cutlery and napkins are available self-serve at the ordering counter. Loyal Sarku customers can use a frequent buyers card to earn free meals. Sarku meals also pack nicely to go.

They used to be good but after the remodel they got stingy with their chicken teriyaki. I order chicken only and they give me less than you get when you order chicken with rice. They say no more chicken for me when I asked them to make it right. I suggest extreme teriyaki.

This is a nice place to stop I for lunch while shopping. I enjoy the chicken an noodles with or without the vegetables. The staff are very good at cooking and very good at keeping the line moving. The price for their food is very fair. I will be going back again another day. Happy Unilocaling!

I have been here a few times and liked it at first. I always get the chicken teriyaki special. Somehow it no longer tastes good to me. I went there today after several months and had the special. It’s almost 2 hours since but I still can’t get the taste out of my mouth and I’m feeling sick. I will probably never return here again.

Sushi cravings took over(as usual) so thought i’d try some sushi rolls. Places my order & then stood by for approximately 10mins asking how long it would be before I receive my order & was responded by a little mumble… was pretty annoying to stand in line, pay for my food and NOT be told«it may be 5−10mins for the rolls». The cook making the rolls wasn’t even at the stall… he was having a nice lil chat in the back kitchen. After a long wait I got my sushi but lost my appetite. Wouldn’t go there again

I always get the chicken teriyaki and I am always satisfied. One time, however, I got food poisoning after I ate could have been possibly the undercooked chicken?

Really really tender chicken and it’s super affordable. Ask for extra sause and the portion is enough for a girl to eat for 2 meals usually. Get the double chicken for $ 1.49 more for the best bang for your buck. I usually just get the steamed rice as I don’t see the point in paying extra for very average fried rice. Overall a mall food court favorite of mine.

I hate to admit it, but I actually eat at Sarku fairly frequently — sometimes weekly. Sarku is the Japanese teppanyaki-style, fast-food restaurant in the Perimeter Mall food court. Since the mall is across the street from where I work, it’s an easy walk and provides enough variety that just about any picky eater in the group can find something. The staff at Sarku are very friendly — they will try to upsell you the double-meat option or an egg-roll. I always go with the chicken teriyaki but opt for all veggies(mostly cabbage with the usual effect) instead of rice, asking for a cup of water instead of soda. It’s a nice, quick and inexpensive low glycemic meal. If I’m really hungry I get the double meat option for an extra $ 1.49, otherwise the $ 6.95 chicken is fairly filling and super cheap. Don’t be lulled into the«extra sauce» at the end — it doesn’t add much to the flavor and has a lot of wasted calories. Use the hot sauce(bottles at the end) instead if you want to «flavor up»… also, if you want chopsticks they’re hidden behind the«extra meat» sign next to the cash register. While there grab a Sarku card — 5 punches and your next lunch($ 6.95 value) is free. Seating at the mall can be tricky — during prime lunch hours it’s often easier to walk to the other end of the mall in front of Nordstrom’s — there are tables there that can seat up to 4 people. Otherwise it might be easier to pack-and-go. For dessert, hit the Chick-fil-a on the other side for a handspun milkshake(if the line isn’t too extensive) — speaking of lines, I see complaints about the line at Sarku — it is long but in general moves quickly.

Seriously people… You do not know what Teriyaki is until you have it from Southern California(Los Angeles, Orange County, Ocean Side, San Diego). I have traveled all over USA for work purposes and my favorite go to is Chicken Teriyaki Bowl(White rice). And I have yet to find the test of So. Cal. There is this local(mom and pop) place in city of Pomona, CA(on Holt Ave & White St.) there is a small place — THEBEST Teriyaki EVER… Anyways, this place was OK — After eating the lady at the counter asked me how was it and I gave my honest opinion which she just simply said«Huummm…» and walked away… I didn’t say anything bad about their Teriyaki… Anyways, I won’t be eating there again for sure. 3 Star for the clean counter and fast service. Cheers!!!

It was my first visit here and thought it seemed fine at first. They cooked your food as you waited so I assumed it was all fresh. I did find it a little odd that the veggies had what seemed to be cooked lettuce(could be cabbage but it was leafy) but it all tasted ok and reasonable price. It wasn’t until later I decided I probably wouldn’t return. The food had a bad side effect on my stomach that I won’t go into detail about but it wasn’t fun. I thought maybe it might have been just me at first and something else but the next day I had mentioned it to a coworker and they had said they had same experience. We both liked the food when we ate it but it disagreed with us later. So, not sure if the food is maybe a little old or if it is something they use when cooking it but I won’t be returning.

People complain because of lines and slow. It is cooked to order! You can always get«pre-cooked“food at the competition I guess. I was there at 3:30pm and there was a line. This is a food court and NO other place had a line. Do the math! Food was darned good for the price. Oh, speaking English. Japanese people will have an accent. DUH! They WILL have an accent but they understand and speak very well in English. Highly recommend. Food court atmosphere. Get your punch card and get free food.

This is one of the best fast food in Perimeter mall. This location almost always have a line. Trust me it is worth the wait! They are famous for there Hibachi style teriyaki chicken with rice for 7 dollars. Its about 2 dollars more to double meat. Service is very slow.

Worth the wait. Try to avoid going around lunch time because there will be a line. Lacking in customer service but the food is good for the price

They do not take American Express or Discover, and when I said something about it, the Asian female employee’s response was rude. The food is good for being fast food, but they are super super SLOW to make the food and get you out of the line. Also their location is bad and has no cell reception, so forget about sending emails while in line.

Best value in the food court. A heaping portion of teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies plus a drink is under $ 8. Ask for a bag and take half home. Double the meat for just 99 cents.

Mall food court. You wouldn’t think that you could get decent food at the food court but as with everything else in life, there are exceptions to the rule and this is one of them. I highly recommend their specialty, chicken teriyaki over rice with vegetables on the side. And if you’re really hungry, you can get double the meat for only 99 cents more. They do have other items on the menu like beef teriyaki, egg rolls and fried rice if you’re looking for something different. Either way, for less than $ 10, you get a great meal.
