As a scared mom of one who was told that the birth I desired is «archaic»(by my doctor) I felt hopeless. I thought my only solution this go round was to repeat the same overly medicated birth I experienced last time where they told me what to do and I had no say in the matter. I found Rebecca via the web and she came so highly recommended I had to at least speak to her. Her flexibility made me instantly fall in love. She met me via Skype(my request) and was so sweet and knowledgeable I knew she was the doula for me(despite the many others I’d interviewed). From that moment on I’ve been soaking up her knowledge and leaning on her for support. When I went into labor and couldn’t even open my eyes her voice made me so calm Bc she created such a safe soothing space for me, ensuring whispered voices and dimmed lights. She was able to bestow more knowledge on us in that setting than any of the nurses on staff. She is literally a genius when it comes to birth. She has so many tactics and means to provide the best support. She is still my go-to for any mommy concerns. She is always there and always reassuring. Gosh, I love her. She is very affordable and provides so much expertise that I truly don’t know why she doesn’t charge more. When I had to leave the state for a family emergency within weeks of my due date she found me not just a back-up doula, but also a hospital that does water births. She found me a medical practice that supported my birth choice here in Atlanta. Thanks to her educating me I was able to have the birth I always wanted and didn’t know was possible. I am amazed that I did that but humbled Bc I know that I couldn’t have done it without her.

Not only are we happy that we chose to have a doula, but couldn’t have been more pleased with Rebecca. She was amazing and both my husband and I are certain we wouldn’t have had the birth experience we did without her. At 42 weeks, my amniotic fluid dropped and it was necessary to start the induction process, and boy what a process it is when you’re body isn’t ready. Rebecca was there by text/phone to talk me through what was happening and we decided as a team of three when it would be a good time for her to join us at the hospital. The contractions were getting stronger and upon her arrival she quickly helped me get what I had been asking the nurses for for hours and then we were able to get in the shower for pain relief. After many hours of natural labor, we decided it was best to do an epidural, which then failed so I was back in full blown labor within 30 – 45 minutes after placement. She coached my husband and I and got us through quite a complicated situation till 4 hours later when the epidural was re-placed. After that, we had our baby boy within hours. Having her next to me during the pushing phase was imperative as she was teaching me the most efficient way to push and coaching me along the way. She’s also been answering my questions about breastfeeding post-natal and was able to get our son latched and teach us a few things immediately after he was born. Rebecca is fun and she is a calming presence to have around, with so many years of experience — she’s truly seen it all. My husband and I can’t recommend Rebecca highly enough!

Rebecca Gay was our doula for the birth of our son in November. She kept the mood light and put us at ease. My wife had a repeat c-section. It was great to have support as the nervous father to be. She was also good at encouraging my wife during the pregnancy and after the birth. We did not have a doula with our first birth and I wish we had known her four years ago. She was indeed a great and valuable asset to our birth team. Rebecca is a great choice as a doula. She is very emphatic and knowledgeable which was a great help to my wife. It was a great birth experience for our whole family thanks to her.

Rebecca didn’t Doula my birth. BUT, she was our nanny to our first born daughter. Over the months of her being in my home, I realized that I looked forward to talking to her before & after work. I was big & pregnant with Baby #2, and her information & suggestions hit home with this expectant Momma! She was always easy to talk with, yet honest and extremely truthful!(A trait I LOVE!!!). She loves the special role she plays as Doula to laboring woman! She finds beauty and strength in that magical time. Bec would be a great addition to your support team!!!

Rebecca Gay became my Doula for the birth of my son in November 2014. I ended up having to have a repeat c-section. She was great during my pregnancy. She was supportive and encouraging. She was in the room when I had my surgery. She helped me and my husband not be anxious. She told me what was going on and told me what I needed to do. She took pictures for me and had the nurses bring me my son as soon as possible for skin to skin contact. It was a gentle c-section. Then she went with us to the recovery room. My whole family loved having her there. When my son was in the NICU she came to visit us. I definitely recommend her for whatever birth you may have. I am so glad I had a doula for my second birth. If I have a third child I would hire her again.
