I wish I could comment on the banh mi’s because I’ve heard nothing but great reviews on it, in fact I was looking forward to them, however as soon as I stepped into this place, I went to the lady in charge(? Not even sure, but she was standing there watching the customers eat) and she flat out refused to talk to me! First thing I asked about was the special and she walked away saying ‘no more! No more!’ If it was busy, I might have been a little more understanding but there were literally 2 people in the store so she clearly had a problem with me … I tried following up about the banh mi’s, but she kept rambling on with her ‘no more, no more!’ STILL walking away from me! I was obviously not going to be served so I just left, and the story doesn’t even end there, she literally stood by the door inside and watched me leave … Needless to say, I have never been more disappointed in an establishment, especially when I was going in with such high hopes, cash in hand, ready to eat their famous banh mi’s. Regardless of how many great reviews others give, I refuse to come back here ATALL. Potential returning customer: lost forever.

I tried ‘banh mi’ and I was not impressed by their food at all. I saw the good rating, but perhaps it was for other dishes :(The meat was not seasoned properly, it had a suspicious red color. Prepare some cash ’cause they only take cash :(

I’m jumping on the Quoc Huong bandwagon! This place is seriously, seriously special. The flavors of the bahn mi are incredibly fresh and bright. The phở and drinks are also a treat. If you are carrying out be prepared for lines and note just how many sandwiches folks buy at a time… it’s great. If you are new to bahn mi the barbecue pork and shredded chicken are good starter choices. Go soon and often!

CASHONLY. My friend didn’t have any cash and I ended up having to pay for her lunch. Now that that’s out of the way, I visited here with said friend as I had missed a previously scheduled lunch here with co-workers and they raved about it. I got their before my friend and everyone kept trying to get me to order. I just kept telling them that I was waiting for my friend. I ordered the chicken banh mi. The sandwich was OK — a bit on the dry side. I didn’t see what was so amazing about it. But a friend later told me that you should order and egg on it(at extra cost). I didn’t do that. Maybe I would have been wowed by that addition. Not sure. I like the banh mi sandwiches at some other local places better.

If you’ve never had a banh mi in your life, what the hell are you waiting for??? You NEED to try this place and you can totally skip out on trying Lee’s. Been going to this place for years now and I personally think it’s way better than Lee’s Bakery. Try the dac biet or the BBQ pork. Oh, and ask for a side of their chili sauce. Not in the mood for banh mi? Their phở is actually pretty tasty. Cash only and closed Thursdays.

Best banh mi in ATL. Better than Lee’s. Get the Thit Nuong(Grilled Pork) one as that’s the best! Oh, for you phở lovers, this place actually has really solid phở too. FYI, this place is CASHONLY and closed on THURSDAYS so be aware of that.

I feel like I’m home every time I come here. You only have 3.5 seconds to make your decision from the menu — warning! I came here yesterday for phở and had half a pork banh mi(shared with my husband, who had a full one as well, so 1.5 total). The phở was incredibly comforting and everything was perfection. Really made my weekend.

Came by for Vietnamese banh my sandwiches. We tried the chicken($ 2.50) and the pork($ 3). The sandwiches here are really greasy and the presentation makes the sandwich a bit unappealing. It is loosely wrapped in a small sheet of wax paper and stuffed in a paper bag. The wax paper is always greasy and so it’s hard to eat it without getting your hands all greasy. The meat on the sandwich is ok. The bread is very crispy and tastes fine if you eat it right away but will probably be hard if you leave it for a bit. Compared to Lee’s sandwiches, I think the ones at Lee’s are better. There is more filling in the sandwich, the bread is softer, and it is way less greasy. However, the sandwiches at Lee’s might be priced a little higher.

My go to banh mi place. Actually it’s my family’s go to banh mi place. It does not disappoint. Quick service and good banh mi. Can’t ask for more. They have the buy 5, get 1 free deal. If you’re not going to eat your banh mi right away, you could always ask them to separate your veggies and to not toast the bread. That way, you can do it yourself later and it will be fresh! They are close on Thursday and it’s a cash only establishment. But it’s so cheap, you can walk away with a banh mi, drink, and dessert for under $ 10!

This place has the best Banh Mi in Atlanta! If you are a Banh Mi lover, this is your place! The sandwiches are dirt cheap($ 3.5-$ 4) and tastes soooooo good. A few things to be aware of 1) it’s cash only 2) they run out of the banh mi bread midway through the day so get here early 3) the service is not great but you can’t expect too much when you are paying less than $ 5 for a sandwich.

Fantastic. And Fast. I had the good fortune to meet a couple of friends for lunch here. I was warned that the food would hit the table about 30 seconds after ordering, and she was right. I ordered a #P1, Phở Tái Nm(eye round beef, and brisket). This Phở totally hit the spot on a cold, windy day. It was warm, and spicy, and filling. One of these days I’m going to have to learn to eat phở like a native. I’m sure true aficionados are looking at me like«What the heck is that guy doing?» But this phở was delicious. I also ordered a #42 Gi cun(a steam roll with shrimp & pork). These are pre-made, and will likely hit the table before you finish ordering your meal. Also delicious, these are served with the ubiquitous peanut sauce. Three of these rolls will fill you up. Lastly, let me tell you that the price tags here are very, very nice. A huge Bánh mì sandwich will cost you less than $ 4. The Gi cun was $ 3.75, and my Phở Tái Nm was only $ 6.50! But this place is Cash Only. So do be prepared. I’m very glad my friends introduced me to this place, and I’ll happily return. Holler if you’re coming with.

Cash only. One day, I hope they can take credit card, haha. Parking is good. Same lot as Sweet Hut, Bambu, Mings, and etc. May have to park a little further away if it’s lunch/dinner time, but burning a few calories won’t hurt! Space — Tiny. Well, they have multiple tables for 4 and a long table that can fit… maybe… 8? I just wouldn’t bring a huge party. I’m normally with a party of 4 or 2. Service — Super nice people. There’s this one lady I see each time — she reminds me of my Grandma, haha. Food comes out fairly fast too. I think my banh mi & phở come out within 10 mins of my order. Food: I LOVE the Banh Mi here. Sheesh. Their BBQ Pork is legit. I can eat it all day everyday. What’s awesome about it… cheap($ 3.50?) & comes in a generous sized sandwich. Also, 1 free Banh Mi after a order of 5. Their bread in the Banh Mi is game changer. The sauce that’s on the bread is so good & amazing. Their veggies are very fresh & delicious. I’ve only had a few Banh Mis in life but safe to say QH is my favorite. NOM. Just wish they took credit card. I’d come here at least twice a week. Phở is good here. The broth is different. There are days when it’s a miss or hit. I think I may prefer I Luv Phở’s broth in comparison. Their meat & noodles are good. Nothing bad about those. They give lots of it it! After eating a Banh Mi and a bow of phở, I’m extremely full. What I really like about QC — they give generous portions of the phở extras. They also have the pickled jalapeños. I never had them till recently … but I am hooked now. My co worker told me they were a great add on to the phở… so, give them a try!

Visited: 01/22/2016 Came here for lunch with a friend and was surprised I had never been here! I do love my Vietnamese food so I was happy to find a new lunch spot: D I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of what I ate: D Sorry guys! I ordered the Egg Noodle/Wonton(Mì Hoành Thánh) and my friend ordered the Rice Noodle/Pork/Seafood/Beef(Mì Thâp Câm). Each of these dishes was only $ 6.50! It was a great size and reasonable portion that was filling :) They also have plenty of other types of foods like Bánh Mì(Vietnamese Sandwiches), and various rice dishes. I’m definitely excited to visit again to try their other dishes :)

Best sandwiches and soup options are great. Rice options not so much. Tasted like it was cooked and heated for my order like left overs! I’m giving it a 4 strictly for the sandwiches and I love their phở, rice soup, etc.

I had the banh mi here several years ago and wasn’t terribly impressed, and since then have been getting them from VN tofu since it was closer. But due to recent bad reviews there about meager meat servings, I decided to give this place a try again. I got several of the grilled pork and the combination meat banh mi to go. I wish they had an option where you could have both grilled pork and other meats like they did at VN tofu. Meat quality, bread texture, and portion size were all fine. Although I did pop them in the oven for a minutes before assembling them so that made the bread nice and toasty. I also wish they had pickled radish in addition to the carrots because it just felt like something was missing without it. Overall, solid banh mi’s but my search will continue.

I’m another Unilocaler who can’t believe I haven’t reviewed here yet. I am a 10+ year customer of this famous banh mi hole-in-the-wall and I have always loved both their banh mi as well as the food they offer in the restaurant. I can’t really choose a supreme banh mi favorite between Quoc Huong and Lee’s Bakery. Each has its own merits and I enjoy both. Be aware that Quoc Huong sells out of banh mi nearly every day sometime in the afternoon to evening. Also, QH is closed on Thursdays. I love Quoc Huong. I love the ladies that work there. The owner takes good care of them — that’s why they’ve all been there forever. I had a fine bowl of phở at QH today. I watched a show on the TV about a TET festival in Saigon, and felt like I was sitting in a tiny café in Saigon. I took home two yummy BBQ Pork sandwiches for my daughters. Life is good!

Fast food it is, but poor quality it is not this spot is a clear winner in the banh mi war. The bread is truly the difference between them and the competition and it always tastes fresh and full of flavor. I did not try the phở, but in my several experiences I think their inexpensive banh mi options are superior to the others around and I think you will agree!

Epic battles include the following: Autobots vs. Decepticons. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Bloods vs. Crips… Then there’s the grandest one of all: Lee’s Bakery vs. Quoc Huong Banh Mi Fast Food. As an objective bystander aka yo-I-just-moved-here-in-July, I’ve perused through Unilocal’s populated search and solicited the advice from the community about banh mi. I’ve triangulated all this information and deduced that these two Vietnamese eateries are the most poppin’. But who wins this brawl? Well, I took all of Sunday to buy banh mis from both joints and eat one of each in their respective parking lots. But first, let me just review Quoc Huong. *** I. FOOD In addition to their banh mi, they also have various soups and rice platters. *Banh Mi Thit Nuong: Bread is surprisingly super chewy instead of thin and crispy, however, I did enjoy the marinated meat and assorted veggies. **Spring Rolls: Not the best cuts of pork and it could’ve used more mint, but it was all right! Not sure if I would order it again, though. ***Mi Hoanh Thanh: Great savory pork broth and solidly wrapped wontons. Noodles tasted fine, too. II. SERVICE Fast, although, don’t expect smiles or anything(which is fine) from one of the several ladies working there. III. ATMOSPHERE/DÉCOR It’s pretty clean, the AC makes my nipples hard(awesome in the summer), and tables for four reside along the walls and in the middle. The space is small, so don’t expect to find a seat during peak hours. A huge parking lot exists, since it’s in a strip mall. IV. PRICES Less than $ 10 for a bowl of soup. Around $ 3 for a banh mi. V. OVERALL Look, if we’re talking whether or not Quoc Huong is better than Lee’s, it’s not. I really think the bread is way too thick and their meats aren’t as flavorful. But if you’re thinking about just regular Vietnamese food like their soups, it’s not bad. Would I go out of my way to eat there? Probably not. Would I give Quoc Huong another shot in the future. Absolutely.

My parents have been getting Banh Mi from Quoc Huong for years! This is my go-to spot for some delicious Vietnamese sandwiches. This is located in the same plaza as the 99 Ranch Market, which is closed now. So there are plenty of parking spots now, due to the market closing. It’s a small shop, I’ve never actually sat down and ordered food. I’ve always gotten my order to-go. I haven’t tried anything other than their Banh Mi sandwiches. They’re always busy or they run out, so my advice is to get there EARLY. They open at 9am everyday but Thursdays. They close on Thursdays. I’ve gotten there at 1pm on a random weekday and they’ve ran out. This time I were there on a Sunday at 9:10 and it was already busy with phone orders as well as the walk-ins, like me. It took them about 15 minutes to get my 12 sandwiches made. They always run a deal where if you buy 5 sandwiches, you get the 6th one free. When you get to-go orders, they’re good about putting the vegetables on the side, so you can assemble your sandwiches later and not have soggy bread by the time you get home. Bring cash, come early, and enjoy a sandwich or 6.

My favorite Banh Mi place! It all started a few years ago when I was just visiting Atlanta. A foodie friend of mine took me here, and said it was one of the gems that most people would overlook if you were just driving on Buford Highway. I now find myself in his shoes, introducing others to Quoc Huong and winning them over as you would expect. I can only talk about the BBQ sandwich since that’s what I go there for. I still remember my first bite– the outer crunch of the bread, the savory BBQ meat, the spice from the green pepper, and the herbs to round out the flavor. It’s been the same tasty bite every time I’ve gone back. They consistently make the same sandwich that keeps drawing people back. I swore I would never get fast food if I’m ever in that part of town, because you can’t beat a $ 3.50 sandwich this good! It’s pretty filling too, usually one is enough for me. And if you want to treat your friends, the buy 5 get 1 free is a great deal! They have some soy drink options that I would suggest you check out if you’ve never had them. They do have Coke and Sprite, but no diet Coke(sad face for me). Another recommendation I can make is their Che Dau Trang(white bean/coconut/ice) dessert. Under a mountain of shaved ice is a gooey sweet mixture of coconut milk and beans. I know it sounds a little odd, but it’s a different type of dessert that I enjoyed. As others have said, bring CASH. It’s amazing they haven’t converted to using credit cards in this day and age, yet still have a ton of customers daily. I would also suggest going early in the day rather than later. One time I went around 5pm, they were already out of the bread. Seating may also be an issue around the lunch rush. Not only do you have people dining in, but you have a lot of people waiting on their to-go orders. Naturally it’s a busy ambiance, but casual for sure. The walls are decorate right out of the 90’s, and they really could care less what you think of it. Careful driving around the parking lot(the shopping center with Sweet Hut). As it’s the case with pretty much all of Buford Highway, people can’t seem to drive on a basic level. The lot in front of Quoc Huong has one way parking rows, but don’t be surprised if you see someone coming straight towards you, or pulling out in front of you even if you have the right of way. Service is OK. As with most Asian places, it’s straight to the point. You’ll get seated quickly, and you’ll have your order brought out quickly. But after that, you can forget them coming back to check on you. I have a feeling you may get slightly better service if you speak Vietnamese though. Despite the subpar service, you want to go there to check out one of the best cheap eats the city has to offer. You can get banh mi at various other restaurants, but they won’t taste quite as good as the one at Quoc Huong.
