I have lived here for three years, and at the completion of these three year I will definitely be leaving this wretched place. Firstly, the management companies was switched to Panther Riverside Parc, recently called Astoria Riverside Park. Astoria was AMAZING, and I was blessed to have Jonathan Leakes as a property manager. Our current property manager is indifferent, has a depraved perspective for tenant safety, and does not ultimately withholds information from tenants to avoid looking bad. My 55″ Samsung Smart tv was stolen AFTER the new maintenance crew came in my home to do a preventative care inspection. Upon realizing that my tv was stolen, I want answers! How could someone steal my belongings without any sign of a break in? Ive been living in this complex for three years and NOTHING was ever stolen until the new maintenance came into the picture. They are shady looking, and most of the tenants are skeptical of them(even those that have not had their things stolen. Tenants are doing their own maintenance to avoid having the property’s maintenance team come into their homes). Additionally, I am not the only break in(with no sign of a lock tampering) that has occurred. There has been a slew of tenants having things stolen from their home. The courtesy officer(who has since moved. He lived here for over two years) suggested to look at the times maintenance entered apartments, and when the break-ins occurred. My next door neighbor was completed burglarized, and has stated that he is moving. I’m don’t feel safe, and I shouldn’t feel like that somewhere that I pay rent, and call home. The first year I lived here, I dropped my wallet one night. The next day, the office(Astoria) called me and told me that someone returned my wallet to the office that morning(not one item was missing). I miss that management company, they were sweet, caring, and not liars like these people. Someone was killed on the fourth of July, and there has no notice to the residents. I asked specifically when one of my neighbors mentioned it to me. I was not even in town. I came home to a letter describing criminal activity in the area referring to break ins(my break-in occurred in May and that was my FIRST notice in July), but it mentioned no murder(a guest of a resident was shot in the face). I would strongly discourage anyone moving here as it is becoming shady, its dangerous, and the value of the property is decreasing(as it should). I even heard that some of the residents are considering a civil suit to the management property. I declined to be apart of that because I am moving soon, and I just don’t want to violated like that ever in life. SMH.
