It’s pretty bleak. This place is ok if all of Atlanta’s Waffle Houses are closed. Servers look miserable. Service is poor. I was one of 3 people in the place and waited about 10 mins for someone to come over.

If you miss 1981, you should come here right away. The food is ok and the service is average, but the cool thing about this place is how time stopped here. You just have to see it to believe it. A lot of fun on a dreary day when you are looking for something different. I would give it another star but the food is just so average I can’t do it.

Just an old school diner. I like the décor and atmosphere because it’s old school and you don’t see places like this often. The service isn’t so great, but they’re friendly enough. The food is just diner type plates. The chopped steak with sauteed onions is adequate, the coleslaw so-so, and the cucumber salad is delicious. If I’m in the mood for this type of food again I might come back, but most likely I’ll just go to Waffle House.

We had a really great breakfast here. The scrambled eggs with diced ham and the French toast were excellent. The only thing I would avoid here is the coffee. It’s a typical rot-gut diner coffee that will wake you up only because of its watered-down motor oil taste… Not because of its caffeine content. As for the motif, this is quite the throw-back diner making you feel like you are stepping back into the 1950s. Despite the coffee, we will definitely be back!

French toast is A plus. This place is real cheap and has nice Christmas decorations. If you want a peaceful no frills meal this is the spot. Also the sausages are nice and spicy and the sweet tea hits the spot.

Bad food. Bad service. Bad atmosphere. Stopped in here for breakfast to give it a second chance after a mediocre meal several years ago. I ordered the«Special Omelette» with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The omelette was a flat, brown, dried out affair that had no taste but salt. Oddly enough, the hash browns looked and tasted about the same. The biscuits were store bought and flavorless and the«Sawmill gravy» was watery with specks of what I can only suppose were sausage. The coffee was burnt, although the waitress stated, «Our coffee is really strong.» I didn’t want a refill and she didn’t ask. One wants to support the independent food establishment, but with Oga’s you would be better off going to a chain where there is at least(hopefully) some consistency and quality controls. This place needs to close.

This is The worst restaurant EVER !!! I order the Lunch Menu and I found in My plate and my Husband’s plate HAIR from the people that cooks in the Kitchen, I ask the Ugly lady that stands in the Front about it and she said that it wasn’t hair, And she gave me the bill. I refuse to pay for the Untouch lunch and told the next customer that if he wanted to eat hair to order the lunch menu. I looked at the Health Department Sheet and the score was 70. THISPLACEISNASTY. This place was a waste of time, the building was run down and the food was very mediocre. The menu is very basic, food presentation was extremely poor and the service was nothing to write home about. I ordered a patty melt and it barely had any grilled onions on it the French fries with sparse and overcooked.

Went for lunch and we were disappointed. We each got a burger which came out over cooked to the point that my normally ‘medium cooked burger’ fiancé could not even get a bite of his extremely well done burger down. And the veggies tasted like they came out of a can. We did not have time to send the food back for a recook so we ended up taking it home to give to the dogs, they loved it! The tea was good. The service was ok but the place was almost empty when we went in, now I know why.

Dont let the run down building fool you — the veggies are great at this place and the price is just right, I am a fan of this place, my only problem is they close at 2:45 pm. I really want my veggie plate for dinner!

Their lunch menu items(burgers, grilled ham & cheese sandwich…) are nothing special. You are probably better off trying one of the specials off the board or their veggie platters.

What a crapola. I usually wait to trash a place after am already gone but… please eat at a gas station nearby instead. I was hoping for a little talent and give a shit here but none of those. I sat on the second booth by window and smelled as if a diaper was stashed under the seat. I moved and told the waitress. She apologized but made) 0% effort as far as maybe seeking out the source of the smell or… cleaning it up with Lysol? As to the food. Mediocre to lousy. My «salad» was a bunch of iceberg lettuce with one paper-thin slice of cucumber, tomato and I guess the third was a carrot? I ate because of necessity, The broccoli casserole was the only ting I cannot trash completely… everything else was shame on shame. The(owner?) lifted my check from my table(I guess I was still eating and they had closed 36 seconds prior.@3) and she HADTOENTERTHATINTHEBOOKS. I figured to pay and get the efff outta there… that is what feeling you get when someone is running the cash out while you still have a full glass of sweet tea to finish… Don’t bother to come prove it. I am still at a loss as to why this place is operating.

This would be 2 stars if it weren’t for the very low prices. I’d agree with the details provided by prior Unilocalers. Something I’d like to highlight is that when I went in, I expected Southerners serving southern home cooking. What I seem to have gotten was a leftover Southern establishment that is now run by an Asian and Asian-speaking family(managing, serving, and cooking) with the help of Hispanic and Spanish-speaking servers and cleaners. I went for lunch on a Saturday, and there weren’t many people in there. No ambient music or background noise made it uncomfortably very intimate – to the point that it felt appropriate to offer my complimentary cornbread I didn’t want to the man 2 seats down from me at the counter(he was appreciative, but already stuffed, nonetheless). Although the food was simple and tasty as expected, it came out in within 2 minutes of ordering(makes me wonder what my baked half chicken was doing before it hit the plate) and my main server definitely didn’t want to be there. She wasn’t rude, but she wasn’t pleasant, either. On the other hand, another server was extra-friendly.

I can’t get over how much fun this diner is, that made an unexpected car service appointment not so bad after all. When I had to wait on my car at Toyota for a 2 hour service, the hubby and I came here for breakfast. It’s typical diner menu with cheesy décor – wood paneling from the 70s, fake plants, tired wear and tear booths. But the vibe in here was so interesting and surprising for being close to OTP. There were business folks, casual folks, construction workers, students, etc. all hanging out here. Everyone seemed to know each other and were greeting each other, laughing, and joking around. It was a very laid back atmosphere and community-oriented. The food itself was ok – nothing great but not bad either. I got the scrambled eggs and a pancake. Good, fast service.

Service is really lacking. Everyone here seems like they hate their job. Owner carried a bag of ice on her neck around the lobby while we ate. Food was a glorified tv dinner quality(only glorified by being put on a plate). If I could rate negative stars I would

I’ve driven by Oga’s for years and years and years and have always wanted to try it, so I finally stopped by there for lunch today. A most anticlimactic experience, if I do say so myself. Décor was typical 70s diner, complete with wood panel walls. The place was unusually quiet. I’m so used to at least hearing a radio or something. Not here. In fact, it was so quiet that I listened to the conversation of the folks in the booth behind me. Not very stimulating… I grabbed a menu and immediately gravitated to the breakfast items. I love me some breakfast food, no matter what time it is! My server was quick and friendly, and pointed out the meat/two veggies board of their stuff for the day. I glanced at the board, which included standard meat items like chicken breast and meatloaf, plus typical southern veggies like sweet potato soufflé and fried okra. Then I went directly back to the breakfast menu. It was at this critical moment that my server broke the news to me… they stop serving breakfast menu items at 11am. BOOOO!!! What diner stops serving breakfast, ever? Why would you do this to me?! So I looked back over at the meat/2 veggies menu and decided on the breaded beef steak with brown gravy, with mac and cheese and collard greens. Didn’t take long for the food to come out. The beef steak was a bit bland, and the brown gravy was really bland. The mac and cheese tasted like Velveeta stirred into mushy, overcooked macaroni. Blech. Even the cornbread that came with my meal was bland. I tried slopping up some of the gravy with it, but that just tasted like some bland with bland on top. Was there a saving grace to my meal? YES, and it was the COLLARDGREENS. They were so yummy and tasty and flavorful that I didn’t even have to use any pepper vinegar. Even writing about it now makes me crave it. My meal was very affordable, even though I hrmphed at the $ 1.50 coffee. I know it was supposed to be a bottomless cup, but sorry Oga’s, your coffee ain’t that good. Will I go back? Maybe for breakfast. I really wanted the creamed beef(chipped beef in sawmill gravy, served over biscuits.) Yummmm. I just hope it’s not as bland as the other stuff on the menu. If it is, I won’t go back again. In fact, I wish breakfast had been my first experience because I expected a lot more out of a place that had been around so long(my dad used to eat here when he was young.)

The ambiance makes it! My friends and I were searching for some good brunch food today and we stumbled upon Ogs’s. Looked right up our ally, and we couldn’t have been more correct. Service was great, food was great and the scenery was nothing short of a miracle! I ate the corn beef hash with a glass of ice cold milk that seemed to be fresh out of the teet! Awesome! The other guys I was with got the breakfast scrambler and they were very satisfied! I’m closing, everyone needs to give this place a try!!!

In a comparison with all types of restaurants, Oga’s wouldn’t even rate a «3.» In a comparison with other«greasy spoon» type places, I’d give it at least a «3.5.» My husband and I ate at Oga’s one morning when we were too lazy to cook and too broke to go to a fancier brunch place. It’s right down the street from our home and it’s pretty unpretentious, so we didn’t feel obligated to get all pretty to go there. Our service was really fast, and the server was pleasant enough(my expectations aren’t really all that high when I’m eating in a «greasy spoon» type diner). I forget what the exact thing was that we ordered, but it was a heart attack on a plate that involved biscuits, eggs, and breakfast meats drowned in gravy. It was good stuff. I really want to go back and try one of the meat-and-three platters for lunch one day. If I do, I will come back here and update this review to let you know how it went. For now, I will just say that Oga’s is better than Waffle House, and pretty comparable in terms of price.

I sometimes wish Unilocal would let you give half-stars, because Oga’s is better than a three, but not quite a four. Because I am the best boyfriend in the world, I ended up across the street from Oga’s around lunchtime today. They always bring me a menu when I sit down, even though the choices are on whiteboards at either side of the restaurant. The waitress came over, brought my sweet tea, and I ordered. The food was fast. Very fast. The food at Oga’s is nothing special– it’s your basic meat and vegetable place. I personally think the food at some of the other places in the area is better, but the service at Oga’s is always good and my food comes out fast and hot. The next time you are on PIB getting you car fixed and you have a little time to kill, Oga’s is worth a visit.
