I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was the right location for me but I would not have stayed 2 nights there. Secluded and in the woods(so odd, you could see a stream and trees and still a 12 story building) BUT it had MOLD alllllll over the a/c. to the point where we walked in and could SMELL it. I just needed to sleep and shower but would NEVER return. The only good thing is that I got a groupon for I think 55 for the night? So it was a bargain… and the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1 is because I in fact stayed at a worse hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC… OY. Who knew mold wouldn’t be the worst hotel? Oh, and an extra star for the breakfast… first place with scrambled eggs with NOHAMINTHEM: D

I’m with Russ on this one. I spent Thu-today there as I am staying in this part of Marietta for a few weeks and decided to switch to the Hyatt on Windy Hill(review to follow after I’ve been here for at least some of the nine days I’m scheduled to do so!). Hawthorn isn’t terrible, but it is old and it is laid out in such a way that if you’re in, say, building 500, like I was, then it’s a total pain to get to the main building for breakfast or if your room key stops working(as did mine and I was on foot with a broken toe walking up the very steep hill) it sucks. I found the cleaning service more than adequate — they even ran the dishwasher every day, nice touch! — and it had all the basics plus a full-size fridge and an oven(not all extended stay places do). The breakfast is free but mediocre, and they do some kind of «dinner» food(from chicken and broccoli to baked potato night to. .. you get the idea) Mon-Thu. There is a shuttle that is fairly efficient about running you around the area, and will even take you from the main building to your unit/suite which is nice if you’re at the back of the property. They also take dogs with no fee. The staff is a mixed bag — some very helpful like one of the van drivers and others not-so-much like some of the front desk ladies. And they are unreliable on wake-up calls, so if that’s important and you like being on time.. . They also did a Groupon while I was there(a lot of folks came last weekend) and just didn’t seem to know how to handle it. The group I’m with gets a discounted rate both here and at the Hyatt and I couldn’t get a room at the Hyatt when we all were getting started so while the Hawthorn was mostly ok, I am very excited to be at a much nicer and so far more accommodating hotel. Overall verdict: I would not recommend the Hawthorn.

I booked«Name Your Own Price» on Pricelne bidding on 3 Star in the Galleria area of Atlanta. I’ve done this about 40 times over the last two years. It’s been successful for me to find a nice place at a great price. Not. This. Time. This was a dreadful three night experience. At best, this place is similar to my stays at Motel 6 twenty years ago. I stayed in two units on this one trip. The cons of Hawthorn Suites: 1. The first room was infested with wildlife in the ceiling. I was kept awake all night hearing the critters walk, gnaw, and scratch. HS «upgraded» me to a real suite. 2. The rooms had badly stained carpets and they were sticky to the touch. I wore shoes the entire visit because I didn’t care for my socks sticking to the carpet(barefoot was nasty). It was disgusting. I would have checked out/refunded if I had not booked through Priceline. 3. The rooms appear to have been decorated in the 80s or early 90s including the TVs and appliances and were in serious disrepair. The items are majorly scratched, panels hanging off cabinets, remotes that do not work, blinds that do not completely shut. 4. Shower has very little hot water and comes out in a trickle. It’s better to use the garden hose if you want to rinse your hair. 5. No wireless. Bring a long ethernet cable unless you want to sit by the desk the entire time using your laptop. 6. The toiletries were on the Motel 6 level. If I were staying one night, I wouldn’t care. But staying three days and taking lots of showers, I went out and bought soap and shampoo at Walmart. Every 3-Start hotel that I have stayed in has good toiletries except for this place. 7. The laundry room/workout room was dirty to the touch and littered with trash. 8. The stucco is nasty with dirt, spider webs, and very grungy. 9. The breezeway walking pavers are buckled. 10. The breezeway steps need power-washed as they are really filthy. 11. The trash cans are all full and very unpleasant to one’s nose. 12. The breakfast did not impress me as the meats were very low quality. The breads and waffle batter were very cheap. The go to items here are he apples, oranges, bananas, and cereals. The pros for Hawthorn Suites: 1. Quiet location as it is situated in an office area. 2. The first room was no bigger than a regular motel w/small fridge and a microwave. 3. The second room was a 1 bedroom suite and very spacious. 4. I couldn’t get the ethernet wire to work and they sent a maintenance worker to help me in the second room. It worked easily in the first room. 5. All the employees are very nice, helpful, and available. 6. The towels are nice. The bottom line: do not stay here.

I found this hotel through Priceline. Stayed for 4 days on a business trip. It’s not a fancy hotel but it’s not bad. I love how they serve free breakfast. Free internet. They offer«snack» for around 5 – 7, and it’s definitely big enough to become my dinner. I’d stay here again. For the price I paid, which was $ 62 a night, it was worth it. Not sure if it’s worth more than that.

The only reason I am giving this hotel a 1 star review is because of their friendly staff. The rest of the place gets a big fat ZERO. There were stains on the carpet, bugs in the room, and no toiletries in the bathroom other than a bar of soap. The layout of the hotel is the strangest I have ever seem. There is room service you have to get food delivered by nearby restaurants. Overall the worse experience ever.

Nice hotel secluded, breakfast was delicious and suite is huge. Located in woods, had a balcony but wasn’t impressed with it, some minor updating needed but other then that we had a great time. 2 room suite 2 queens pull out sofa bed, and full kitchen located near resturants and grocery stores

Don’t waste your hard earned $$ here. Not up to par with other hotels in the ATL and most certainly not up to par for a Wyndham property. Overall the property is simply unkept. Rooms not updated, not cleaned well at all. The grounds are HORRIBLE. Absolute lack of caring by management.
