The burgers are great and cooked to order perfectly. Food came out quickly. Jamal is the best bartender in the area!

I went here after hiking and we were starving. The vegetarian burger didn’t look appetizing to me, and there was only one on the menu so I did an order of sides. The Fries were good, like frites and I got the Dr Pepper Dipping sauce for it. The side salad had some bad lettuce in it, so I didn’t eat it all, but the Ranch Jalapeño salad dressing was tasty. Then on the recommendation of the cashier I ordered the black bean and corn salad. I did not like this, I think they used rice wine vinegar or something because the vinegar taste was not to my palate. I’ll have to go back again when I’m in the mood for the veggie chickpea burger and take my own advice and order the slaw.

Reason for the 2 stars? Service and value. $ 27 for 2 burger, 2 fountain drinks and 1 fry is just over the top. The burger size is a little more that what you’d expect from a ¼ pounder at McD’s. The service got a ding because my wife’s burger was missing the lettuce, Tomato, pickle, and onion. They made this right by bringing it on the side, along with packets of mayo, and mustard. The packets made us laugh. And to be honest, we expected them to take the burger to the kitchen and prepare it correctly. A $ 10 burger we could have got for $ 3.5 fast food, and fast food would have added the condiments. So much for upscale experience. The food was good. The burgers were cooked correctly and tasty. If you can over come the price and settle for making the half the burger yourself, you’ll be pleased with this spot. Draft beer was $ 5, 12oz domestic, we didn’t purchase this trip.

I enjoy coming to this particular Burger Bar because the food and shakes are always great. I never fail to tell a friend or family member about this place. Also, their service is great. Once, I forgot to add a tip on the receipt before hand. The waiter knew, but she was helpful and nice. I will continue to come here, and next time, my waiter will get a nice tip. Thanks cooks, cashiers, and wait staff at Burger Bar! You guys are awesome!

The food is normally really good. Today, they were out of everything we ordered and took over an hour for our drinks. Not coming back.

I had the It’s Greek to Me burger, skinny fries and the black bean & corn salad. All were delicious. I was to have the rice Krispy treat shake but for some reason, they were out of marshmallow fluff. I was given a refund and the manager offered to give me another flavour shake. I took it as a sign to be a good girl for the day. The burger was delicious. The fries were perfectly crisp. The bean/corn salad had a spicy kick to it. Can’t wait to go back! Too bad it won’t be in time to enjoy that limited offer shake.

Update! The owner reached out to us and invited my BF and I back to try them out again, and we were not disappointed! We ordered the same things and it was clear that they took my criticisms to heart. the burger was much better, not too greasy and the fries were not over seasoned. The service was great, again, and we will for sure be back. Like my reviews? Visit my blog at to read more about me. :)

First time at Grub Burger Bar and the VooDoo burger was very good, plenty of mushrooms, cheese was not melted right off the burger which was a good thing, the burger was very moist, bun was soft. they charge extra for sides, I think they can give you fries but it’s not a show stopper. The shake was very tasty, salted caramel. The girl who took our order was very friendly. The service was quick and we did not have a long wait until our food arrived. It’s always a good thing when the food arrives hot. I would recommend this restaurant and bring family and friends when in town.

I shouldn’t admit this as it’s very against brand, but I LOVE Grub Burger Bar. I’ve been 3 – 4 times now, so I’m pretty sure I can comfortably say that. I never thought I would… I didn’t even want to try it when it opened. «Oh…another chain…» I thought. But, sometimes you just want a salad with a burger on it, or you want to go crazy and have a chicken burger with a lettuce wrap. Well, guess what. There just aren’t other places to do that in Smyrna. And as far as chains go Grub is a pretty good option. Grub won me over on so many levels. The food I get is always delicious and accurately prepared. The previously mentioned chicken burger, with tzaziki sauce, is one of my favorites but so is the Thai Peanut burger. Service is friendly, even when we’re just popping in to pay and pick up our order. Don’t you dare go and not get a milkshake — the Kitchen Sink or Dirt Cup are must try’s.

Went here to treat ourselves to one of their highly recommended milkshakes. We were a little disappointed to learn that the milkshake flavors change from month to month. As a result, we couldn’t try the milkshake with a doughnut on top. Ended up going with the Apple Pie option and it was good.

This is our dependable burger spot in the Smyrna/Cobb/Galleria area. Our client is across the street, and our hotel is not far. I’ve tried pretty much all the burgers(even the turkey one!) and they’re all delicious. Had the Guacapotle last night, which was so messy and so good. The $ 4 margarita is great and is sometimes on special for $ 3. I’ve had a few of the shakes and it be like damn. I can’t decide if I like the sweet potato fries or the skinny fries more, which is usually an easy choice for me. Not here. Both awesome. Super friendly customer service, consistently good food, and cheap margaritas. What else do you really need?

This is my second visit and again I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the«Greek to me» with sweet potato fries. The ground chicken breast was juicy to the point it was melting in my mouth. The tzatziki made it even better.(I’m definitely going to have to try that on one of my homemade burgers). I left off the feta. The only other thing I would change about this burger is the lemon caper vinergarette… Only because the capers were too strong in flavor. I see now I’m not to fond of them. I will definitely order this burger again. The sweetness and saltiness on the sweet potato fries had me wanting to order more. Mr. Jason G. I didn’t ask for you this visit regarding my last visit… It wasn’t the skinny fries turn to be ordered. Stay tuned for my next visit.

This establishment is a hit or miss. So this review is for a number of visits in the last several months. Most visits, I’ve ordered the cheese fries and two out of three times they have been perfect. However, if I hadn’t known what came on the cheese fries the second time I ordered them, I wouldn’t have noticed the missing jalapenos and chopped bacon, which I think make the cheese fries delicious. I took the fries back to the ordering counter, and they brought it back to my table sprinkled with a few bits of bacon and jalapenos. I can only say this was a disappointment because compared to the first time I ordered the fries, which led to me craving them again, the second time was a disappointment. I gave them a third try, and the cheese fries were back up to perfection. On one visit, my friend ordered the ghost burger with the ice cream chaser, and if it weren’t for an employee checking on our table towards the middle of our meal, he would’ve never gotten his chaser. If I were guaranteed the same great experience each time I would probably visit more often. But in reality, this place can kind of flip flop between great and mediocre. Though I do approve of their milkshakes!

The milkshakes are to die for. Get one. To me, the milkshakes overshadow anything else. I got the Kitchen Sink. Wow. I can’t even say anything other than wow. It was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. To me, it tasted like a pretzel milkshake. And I loved it. It was also the perfect size. I didn’t feel overwhelmed, yet I wasn’t crying that it was too little when I finished it. Sure, I died of a sugar rush afterwards, but I regret nothing. I got the chickpea hippie burger and it was great as well. I ended up having to eat it with a fork by the end, because the red pepper mayo seeped through my bun. The fact that they bake their buns fresh every hour made it imperative to me to finish the bun. A lot of times I feel the bun overwhelms the burger, but in this case it was an essential part of the burger. I honestly don’t know if fries usually come with the burger. I don’t think they do, but my coworker mentioned she was disappointed when they brought our burgers and shakes that we didn’t realize fries needed to be ordered separately. A maybe relevant fact, is she is very pregnant. Well, the guy came back with fries! I loved the skinny fries. If you like salt, you will like this. The atmosphere of this place is very cool too. It is a lot of wood and the right combination of trendy and unpretentious. You just order at the counter and they bring you your food. At 1 p.m. on a Tuesday, it was comfortably packed. Enough people that you know the food will be good, but not too many that you can’t find a table. Even though everything is good, if you have to only get one thing(poor you) I’d get the milkshake.

Very good service. Pricey burgers. Love the skinny fries. I got the burger with pulled bbq. It was good but I’ve had better. We also had the burger with chili and an egg that was also good. What I could’ve done without was the mop water smell from the bar. Yuck

Trendy, modern restaurant for burgers with juicy patties and fresh buns. Grub Burger Bar is located next to Longhorn Steakhouse in the Cobb Galleria. Order at the counter and your burger will be prepared and brought to your table. The dining area has several televisions where you can watch football and there are many long tables and large booths, which makes this burger bar good for groups. I ordered the Guacapotle Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The order came out to be around $ 10. The«Guacapotle» burger comes with guacamole, a chipotle sauce, and cheddar cheese. Burgers are cooked medium well by default, but you’ll be asked if that’s how you want your burger cooked. My burger’s patty was thick and extremely juicy. I noticed that the buns were being made in a prep area behind a window right next to the cash register. The bread was warm and very soft. The environment is fun — the restaurant was bustling during lunch hour on Sunday. Portion size was large. The order, though, was definitely very salty. This can be said about both the burger and the sweet potato fries. I would have enjoyed my lunch more if less salt was added. Wait time was moderate for my burger to be cooked. The cashiers and the servers were all friendly.

Grub has always been a hit or a miss for me. I’ve eaten here several times now but I’m just now inspired to write a review. I think, initially, I was comparing them too much to FLIP, another upscale burger and shake bar, and I was left wanting. Flip they are not! Still, their burgers and shakes are PRETTYGOOD. But the thing is, sometimes they’re not. Let’s start with the GOOD. They’re OMG burger is usually a favorite of mine. It’s just chili on top of a burger with cheddar cheese and a few of their shoe-string fries tossed on. When it’s done right it’s pretty delicious. It’s served on their signature rolls which are pretty dense – and this is coming from a bread LOVER! But even for me, the bread is a bit«stalling». Still the taste is pretty good, just really filling. But, I do love that you can pick up a free bag of their fresh rolls for a donation of any size and the donations go to charity. LOVE that idea and I’ve done it. Another thing I love about GRUB is their décor, the restaurant looks great inside! They have huge flat screen TVs and lots of seating – I love their high booths and tables! The bar is also really gorgeous and they have a great selection of local and craft beers as well as anything else you may want. A server was explaining to me that their GRUB beer changes frequently(rotating tap) which I think is cool because you can try out various beers all for one price. Now, the not so good: On my most recent trip to GRUB, I ordered my favorite burger, the OMG. When you place your order at grub, they tell you that all their burgers are served medium-well which is the way I like my burgers. This time though, my burger was definitely well done which made it tough to eat, literally. I also usually like GRUB’s fries because they’re shoestring which is my favorite but because of being so skinny they’re also easy to overcook. Unfortunately, in addition to my burger, my fries were also pretty overcooked this time so I ended up leaving most of my food on my plate. Oh, and my wife’s onion rings had a delicious, crunchy and flavorful batter on the outside but when I bit into it, the onion was practically raw and rubbery. Not good. But, on the bright side, I had a really good beer(I got the Grub beer so I’m not sure which brand this particular one was) and my wife had an EXCELLENT banana pudding milkshake which I definitely recommend. It was delicious!

Bumped these guys up 2 more stars. The manager, Jason G, told me to ask for him during my next visit and he would take care of us! I did — and he did. :-) My burger(Front Porch with cheddar cheese again) was cooked to perfection. I asked that it be cooked medium — and the chef got it 100% correct. The patty was thick and juicy. I was in burger heaven. I was going to try a Dirty Kitchen Sink milkshake — but the add-ins are pre-mixed and I can’t have coffee grounds — so I had to pass. Also — I noticed other reviewers commented about the amazing hamburger buns. At first I was wondered why are the folks waxing poetic about BREAD at a burger joint? But my second visit — I realized why. The hamburger buns are light, buttery and just plain olé awesome. Perfect compliment to the actual beef patty. Overall — outstanding customer service from the manager — and outstanding food tonight!!! You can actually stop reading here — but if you just like long reviews — feel free to continue: I’d like to note that I find the set-up here a bit unusual. In my opinion the décor lends itself to a classier dining experience — the kind with an actual wait staff. Add to that — there actually appear to be wait staff milling around. Yet when we first entered, we were thinking we were waiting on a hostess(I could have sworn there was one the last time — lol) and there wasn’t one. Finally, after standing there clueless for about 3 minutes, we walked over to a table. Then we sat around for a while wondering why the servers were ignoring us. After I scowled one too many times, a server finally asked if I was ok(lol). When I told him we were ready to order, he explained that we have to go to the back of the restaurant(to a counter) to order(both my friend and I didn’t realize this — and the first time I visited, I ordered take-out at the bar).** You place your order(our cashier /server had a little trouble here), step over to a self serve beverage station, then find yourself a table. Also — you’re given one of those thingies that vibrates and lights up when you’re food is ready — then you go get it and tromp it back to your table. Overall — it’s not a bad thing — I was just surprised by it. **When I asked the server — what it is — exactly they do — they said they provide refills and get sauces, etc. There were 3 servers working tonight and the place wasn’t really packed at that hour — but while the manager brought us our actual food(vibrating thingie was not necessary apparently) — we never got any actual refills from the servers. And we were too lazy to get up ourselves — sort of kidding. I still won’t subtract a star because 1) the food was just that outstanding and 2) I’m pretty certain 2 of the ‘servers’ were in training.

GBB is pretty cool. I’ve been twice and had the same burger both times. Once I got the skinny fries and once I got the onion rings. Both were good. I love that they have a bar with reasonably priced drinks. A $ 4 margarita? Yes, please! My daughter and I ate there once and with both meals and my ‘rita I spent about $ 20. A bargain! I appreciate the ladies walking around checking on the tables, but for that kind of attention, I wish they’d just make the place a full service restaurant. I feel compelled to leave a tip, yet I had to stand in line to order my food like at 5 Guys.
