The best staff and best bar in East Atlanta. Hands down. Great music, good people and just a lot of fun. I’ve lived (until recently), in East Atlanta and the surrounding areas for the last 20 years. This is my favorite place to go these days. It feels the way East Atlanta used to feel. Neighborly and where everyone knew everyone (and even if they didn’t), you were sure to be friends by the end of the night.
The staff is excellent. The parking sucks (but that’s to be expected — it’s East Atlanta afterall). The drinks are stiff and the prices are totally reasonable. None of the pretension, hipster, trendy vibe you get from some of the other bars. Real people, real drinks, really fun. Morgan and the staff get an A+++ in my book.

Best bar ever! Great food too! A must visit in East Atlanta. Can’t wait for the upstairs to open soon.

Best dive bar in EAV. Fantastic food. The wings are my favorite, but they have a solid gyro, burger and salads. I always receive excellent service from the super friendly and funny staff. It was great before, but it’s even better now that they don’t allow smoking.

I went here with a group of friends during Atlanta burger week to try their $ 5 SucktoPus Burger. We seated ourselves and service was ok. We came here mainly to try their burger and it was pretty good so I’m satisfied.

Lenwood Crumb here to tell you to give Flatiron Restaurant & Bar a try! They have a wonderfully attentive staff and a solid menu. I primarily come here for brunch on Sundays when they open at noon. It is quiet but not as quiet as an empty home that used to be filled with joy, love, and laughter. No, it is quiet in a comforting way that let’s you feel like you are part of something greater than yourself even as you sit alone, counting the seconds until 12:30PM when you can finally sip on a tasty, spicy BM. They have great specials and though I do not order them every time, they are always enticing. They have a patio that is a blessing on nice Sunday afternoons and it is close enough to the sidewalk that you are able to feel like you are included in the many passing conversations of couples, friends, and families. It is important to get out of the house and interact with others every now and then. My roommate Norman travels a lot for work and my ex wife Ida has not been consistently returning my phone calls about being able to see our boy more often. It is hard to go through such a major change at this stage of a man’s life. I have tried to explain to her that this is an adjustment period and things are difficult but she does not seem to care and frankly, I’m not sure I blame her. I could have been more attentive and spent less time at the office. I could have gone to therapy like she asked but the past is the past, I guess. There’s no use in dredging up painful memories. Not today. Not again. I can almost assure that whatever you try at Flatiron Restaurant & Bar will leave you satisfied! Give it shot. Keep up the great work!

This place would have been more useful if it was a flatiron for my hair. Especially since I now have to wash and straighten my hair after being around so much cigarette smoke. Seriously, who still allows smoking inside… or even in the outdoor seating area so close to open doors and windows?
I get the point of a dive bar, but this place is so far gone from being divey that it’s just dingy and nasty. The beer and food menus were each quite small. I’d give the place a second star for actually having a handful of good craft brews except that they flagged my two star review as «promotional material». Nope, your bar just sucks, in my honest opinion. Other than the few common craft beers, the rest were American piss-​water. I had the Bell’s Kalamazoo, a nice, full-​bodied, chocolatey stout; Bell’s is always a solid option. There’s a full bar as well.
There are plenty of other bars in the area and patronizing any of them would be better than subjecting yourself to the second hand smoke at Flatiron.

The food is dang good and so is the company. And the patio people watching is the best in the village.

The meatloaf is good, so are the tater tots. The quesadilla is also good, but that’s hit or miss also. Actually writing this review has made me realize that a lot of their dishes are hit or miss depending on who is in the kitchen. But its normally still better than a lot of other places.

Been here just a few times, the staff has always been very nice and friendly. This bar is pretty chill with good food in my opinion. Unilocal says they allow smoking but they actually do not which is a very good thing. Respect to this place.

Yeah so, wanted to like this spot but alas the racial vibes from a particular staff member here weren’t hard to pick up on. The food (bar food) was decent, nothing spectacular and the beer prices were good. The staff (at the time) destroyed any chance of me returning. When you are waiting tables, you don’t sit down with your raggedy badly tattooed cronies and ignore your patrons. Not cool. Not coming back.

This bar is seriously fucking awesome!!! Erin and Hannah are amazing. I came here from New York and I’m used to bartenders just doing their job but these girls go above and beyond. Super friendly and super accommodating which you rarely find in a bar. The drinks are cheap and the food is good which is even better when the bartenders are friendly and awesome. If you wrote a bad review for this place you clearly don’t know what good service is.

Flat Iron rules. Friendly service, great food. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Sam & Hannah are both excellent bartenders who will take awesome care of you! Oh– and you can’t go wrong with the Flat Iron fries. Mmmm.

This was also another hidden gem after a live performance in Atlanta. I can’t even remember what I had exactly on this night. I know we ordered wings, hamburger and a few other items. It was late and I was hungry. It’s an upscale dive bar with good personality. Seems like a lot of people from the neighborhood also come here.
But I would definitely recommend it as it seems to be a place to have a good olé time. Food was all I point and beverages were refilled quickly. Overall good experience.

Really 50 minutes for 2 medium burgers TO GO! I was originally quoted 25 minutes and i thought that was way to long but I but the bullet. This is ridiculous. Get it together Flat iron. I come here because it good food and convenient but I rather go somewhere that values my business.

This place was pretty cool. It had a good atmosphere. If you can appreciate 80s metal you’ll dig it. The customers were half punk kids and half yuppies. I had a veggie burger and a hummus plate. The hummus was rad and plentiful. The veggie burger was too small. It didn’t even come close to fitting the bun. Overall I liked The Flatiron.

Decent beer prices. Check.
Vegetarian options. Check.
It’s not bad. It’s not great. Their vegetarian options are there which typically a source of happiness. It’s probably more about the people watching for us and less about the food. Also great for catching sports games as they have several tv’s above the bar. A lot of outdoor seating.
The little veg corn dogs aren’t the tastiest. The veg burger with the goat cheese is decent.

Please do not EVER order chicken fingers they are frozen and have no texture. I am going vegetarian because of it. Nasty! I am so sad I ate 3 of them trying to convince myself to enjoy it all. Please don’t support mass produced shit food.

My favorite bar! The bartenders here are awesome! The food is great! And there’s no smoking.

BEST WINGS. BEST BURGERS. I do not use these terms lightly, people. I mean it. And when you pair either (or both) of these with some flatiron fries (fries with cheese, bacon, and fresh chopped jalapenos on them, with ranch), you will be in bar-​food nirvana.
And now that they are non-​smoking AND non-​kid friendly — DY-​NO-​MITE!
This place is right up the street from my house and I LOVE it. Yah, some of the servers can be a little surly, but if you get the blue (sometimes green) haired woman, you’ll be very happy. Sit outside when you can, just because it’s East Atlanta, but if you can’t, don’t worry, you’ll still enjoy yourself.

I usually eat here before going to shows at 529. Eat, you say? Yes, I was surprised the first time that I realized that they had food… and that it was pretty good.
It’s definitely pub fare, but i would say it’s «above average pub fare». The burgers are very flavorful — and you can get them with awesome tater tots. The chicken quesadilla is also worth checking out.
Don’t underestimate the Flatiron. It’s a contender for food in EAV.
