This place was great for seating big groups; however the service is TERRIBLE. Everything takes forever. Last time I was here, it took 43 minutes to receive our check. I never had a water refill and we had to order drinks at the bar because the waitstaff was obnoxiously slow.

GREATDRINKS/GREAT CUSTOMERSERVICE/AVERAGE FOOD I visited this restaurant on a Monday evening around 5pm. The restaurant was large and open with seating to occupy any party size. Cantina is cozy enough for a casual date night and perfect for an afterwork happy hour. Food was average. More American«tex-mex» than authentic Mexican food. The food was presented well with balanced flavors. Nothing really bland and nothing overly seasoned. We started with the A pitcher of the silver margarita which was spot on. One pitcher for two people would fill each glass 2 ½ times and it’s $ 27. You receive chips and salsa once you are seated and the salsa was great. It was good enough for me to not want to get any queso, which I eat with anything. We had two apps which were the shredded chicken empanadas and calamari. Empanadas were very flavorful and nicely textured but the calamari was not as great as it usually is at this location. I ordered four tacos and my lady had the seafood soup w/lobster broth. The tacos were nothing to brag about but we fought over the soup. It was exceptionally tasteful. Our server was named Devin. He was attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu. He was not bothersome and his Customer service alone was five stars. Average food was three stars and the drinks were just right. So I give Cantina a 4 star review.

Have passed by several times over the last few years and finally decided to give it a try. Parking at Terminus is always a hassle but did the valet and headed there on a Friday night. Not very busy fir a Friday evening only about 10 tables. The service was really great just disappointed with the food. Mediocre at best. Salsa was to spicy for my guest and my Fajitas were as good as Chili’s. My guest enjoyed his dish and his special margarita but that was the extent of it.

Cantina Tacqueria is a pretty good place for Mexican food and beers at good prices. They had a special for Mexican beers the night, which was pretty good. The place is not fancy, pretty casual, service is good, waitresses are nice and do their best to take care of business. I would not call this authentic Mexican, this is more your typical Americanized fare, but all together there was nothing to complain and a good stop to chill with a Dos Equis or a Corona. Located in Buckhead, this restaurant is near other restaurants you can walk to, so if you are staying at the Grand Hyatt, just cross the street and head over for a cold one and some spicy salsa.

The spinach enchiladas and ceviche are GOOD. Not sure why the reviews on this place are so low. It’s nice inside and food is good.

We went here for a friend’s birthday and sat in the bar area. I’ve never had better service anywhere. The bar manager was quick to suggest tasty wines and good tequilas, and we tried them all. We ordered guacamole, which I found to be amazing, and I had veggie tacos, which were good in size and flavor. Not sure what the parking situation is, because we cabbed to the place, but it seems like there might be a parking deck in the area. There’s a huge patio outside, and inside, the space is open and vast. I will definitely visit again. Not only did their take on Mexican outweigh most places I’ve tried, but they reeled me in with exceptional service.

This place has a lot of space and a nice outside patio area which is great on a nice day. I went here with a friend during the day and it was very empty. It was just after lunch so I presume we had just missed the lunch crowd. Our server was nice. We had the chips and queso and shared a cobb salad. The queso was awful it sounded good on the menu but I couldn’t get any of the flavors that were supposed to be in it… just kind of tasted like bland white cheese. The cobb salad was fresh and I liked the homemade spicy ranch dressing. Being a mexican restaurant and a cobb salad I expected it would have included avocado but it did not. Which I guess is not big deal, but hey I wanted some avacado! :-) It’s an average Mexican restaurant, nothing to right home about. Drinks were strong and adequately priced as such. The queso was a fail and we sent it back so I fully expected them to execute on the salad which they did. I can’t complain but I can’t say I’m rushing to go back.

This is an excellent mexican grill located in the upscale Buckhead triangle area. It is surrounded by many other great restaurants including Bricktops. Their menu has an excellent selection of mexican dishes, both authentic and modern. We had the Habenaro Poppers and the quantity of 4 was more than enough. My wife and I both had 1 each and we couldn’t eat anymore. They are EXTREMELY spicy… yet they are so very good!!! I definitely recommend trying them for the ones that love spicy food. The service during mid-afternoon was beyond excellent… I left almost a 40% tip because I just loved how the waiter was nice and attentive but not clingy. We were one of the few people there during this time so the waiters were not bombarded with tables. They also have awesome outdoor seating and indoor is great as well. Overall, a wonderful upscale mexican dining experience.

Before last Tuesday, I’d only gone to Cantina for their $ 2 Taco Tuesdays — a great deal on some good tacos. BUT little did I realize that they had taken ‘Taco Tuesdays away. The boyfriend and I were pretty disappointed but since we were already there, we decided to check out what else they had to offer(No taco there is worth $ 5+). I definitely agree that this place is not the«authentic Mexican restaurant» it claims to be. It’s not even really Tex-Mex, maybe fusion — slight fusion. We ordered the guacamole as our app — it was too plain for my taste and I found their chips stale. Hoping for a good entrée I ordered the ‘Mango Ahi Tuna and Chipotle Mashed Potatoes, which came highly recommended from our server. I liked it — the Ahi tuna was a little more rare than medium but I’m not too fickle about that. The mashed potatoes were a decent, the texture wasn’t as smooth as other places, but I really liked the mango garnish on top — it gave an interesting and complimentary twist. My boyfriend had a burrito, it looked pretty typical, tasted pretty typical. Our server was nice and attentive, we’ve always had pretty good service at Cantina, I’m a bit surprised by the bad reviews on that aspect. And I love the aesthetics of this restaurant, it’s beautiful. Nitpicking here, but I wish they’d play something other than ‘80s pop rock, it’s a little disconcerting for a place that claims to be Mexican. Oh, and BRINGBACK $ 2TACOTUESDAYS! kthxbai.

$ 2 Taco Tuesdays. That is the only thing that will bring me back here. I’ve had some tacos, some chips, some salsa, some queso, and some guacamole. After all that, nothing stood out as amazing. It was all just OK, and in some instances, less than OK. The worst part — it has one of the best locations. Unfortunately, I feel I may end up here again with coworkers. Cheers to some mediocre Mexican food with less than par service.

I have been here maybe two or three times for group meet-up /group happy hour events. Mostly I have only had drinks and appetizers and found that to be adequate /fair-to-middling. On my most recent visit I had dinner here and I have to admit that I was completely underwhelmed. My original plan was to order two or three different tacos but I saw that entrees with the two sides were more of an economical /value-added option; so I got the pulled pork burrito entrée with rice and beans. My choice was not terrible; however, I have had far better meals /dining experiences at many other area corporate sanitized Mexican chains around town(for much less money and with far better service). Service at the bar and at our table(after leaving the bar area) was lackadaisical and addle-brained. I will likely not return unless serious improvements are implemented.

Scene: Cinco De Mayo 2013 US: can we get some chips and salsa please Waiter: chips & salsa is $ 3 today. US: ok. can we get a refill on the basket of chips? Waiter: $ 3 per basket of chips no refills…(the end is near) What has the world come to where one is charged for chips & salsa on Cinco De Mayo. And the chips weren’t even freshly made, nor were they warm. This was a sad day… ShameOnYa! #OhHellNo #ThereAintNoAppForThat #FuCCary #UBlewIt Food I had: Fajitas. edible, nothing to write home about. I do know this, when you bring out a dish on a cast iron skillet it better be sizzlin’. Mine was not, it fact it was barely warm, which means my plate was sitting out for a while before it was brought to my table.(esplain Lucy!) Chips & Salsa: again $ 3 bucks a serving, chips not warm.(criminal) Drinks. The adult beverages were made well.(tryin’ to get me boozed up so I would realize my fajita plate wasn’t sizzlin’ ***shakes fist**** I’m not that kinda girl humph!!!) In closing, Justin Bieber says never say never, but I say I’ll never be returning to Cantina’s, sorry JB. #FoodandtheCity

Cantina isn’t my favorite Mexican establishment, but it’s location can’t be beat. The $ 5 sinless margarita available on Fridays is a great way to unwind after a long week. Don’t come on Taco Tuesday at noon because service can be a hit or a miss. On our most recent visit(mid-April 2013) it took us 90 minutes from the time we sat down to have chips, 2 tacos, and get our check. But then other times, we’ve come with 8 people and had no issues. The tacos are generally good, I’ve gotten stale chips before, but the guac is always great.

There are so many problems with this place. where do I start. I’ve been here twice, but let me highlight my lunch experience, because looking at the menu I think it’s representative of the major issues of this place. Cantina claims, by thier website, to be authentic Mexican food. I beg them to do some research on what this means. I ordered the Fajita Chicken Wrap lunch which is a premade chicken burrito with a side salad. HUH. A garden spring side salad, pre-topped with vinagrette, at a Mexican restaraunt. That just makes you chuckle. Secondly my chicken fajita… chicken burrito… ok, folks, it’s a chicken wrap I could have bought at any non-mexican grill, came with ranch on the side. Woah! All this time, and I didn’t know Ranch dressing was a gift from Mexico. Upon arrival, I walked in, granted at 2pm, and I thought the place was closed. There was no one to greet me, no one at the bar… it took me a few minutes to see two patrons deep in the vast dining room, and after a while an employee surfaced. That should have been my exit sign, I guess. The place is not clean. Above me, the bar was caked in food. Is Monday night food fight night at the bar? for lunch, I don’t expect dance, 70’s, 80’s, and blues music, mixed, to be blaring… I’m not here to escape the cubicle to dance it up. I walked out feeling musically bi-polar with my ears ringing… Well, this place is owned by the«Here to Serve», which owns Twist, Shout, Strip, Noche, etc etc… and most of these restaraunts have redeeming qualities about themselves, most notedly, the atmospheres. And for that, I threw in an exrta star in my rating, I think Cantina has the ownership to improve. Utimlately, If you are in for a place to be social, hang out on a patio, have a few drinks, this place does have a chic appearance, large social square footage … but, skip the meal though.

Why don’t you just go for taco bell if you want comparable mexican food… Only reason it’s not a one star is the ambiance, which is rather nice. Outdoor seating is great and the place is nice inside, food and drinks are terrible.

I’ve been running by this place and wanted to try it out for a while. I think it used to be Bellini’s??? They have great outdoor seating and a full bar. FOOD: For lunch I got the Sizzling Shrimp Fajitas which comes with warm tortillas, rice & choice of beans for $ 18. Instead of beans I wanted their chipotle mashed potatoes for $ 4. Blah! The fajitas were delicious with sizzling shrimp, peppers, and onions but their rice was bland. Their chipotle mashed potatoes was plain and not spicy at all. I thought chipotle meant smoked chili pepper??? This place was ok but I’ve had better Mexican food for cheaper. Don’t think I’ll be back.

$ 2 Tacos at Cantina, holla! If you’re looking for cheap eats and it happens to be on a Tuesday… check this place out. But come early because it gets pack pretty quickly. There’s a separate menu that they have for the tacos such as baja(fish), pulled park, vegetables, chicken… Sorry I don’t remember all the names except my favorite — the Baja! it is delicious.

So seeing as though management has changed here, I guess management sucked before my visit. Welp, I’m grateful they changed because my experience was great! I went for lunch on Valentine’s day of all days. I completely forgot that this location in the H2S spiel of restaurants has a special on Tuesdays: $ 2 tacos! I mean how can this not be great! I had the fish tacos and the chipotle chicken tacos. 3 tacos… more than enough food. Plus the chips and salsa are delish! You can tell that all the ingredients are fresh… seriously if you’ve had bad tex-mex before you know the difference. Fresh guac, fresh salsa… I loved it. I have a new place in the chain of H2S! They have a nice selection of drinks also. If you go during the week valet parking is free, which is great considering the pricey neighborhood it is in. I will return!

Given the bad reviews, my expectations for this place were really low. However, due to the proximity of this restaurant and bad Friday afternoon traffic, I decided to give it a shot and was impressed. First of all, our service was fantastic. Not only was our server on top of things, but the other wait staff was quick to bring out chips and salsa(we actually had two people come by to bring us chips) and our food came out really fast. The carne asada fajitas were average(the beans and rice here are not good), but we really enjoyed some of their specialty tacos like the trailer park taco(fried chicken taco!) and the heuvos rancheros taco(um fried egg on a taco? Why didn’t I think of that?!). Also got a liquid nitrogen cherry coke(just because I was curious) and that was disappointing only because by the time it came out, it wasn’t smoking but more like fizzling. However, the table next to us got a specialty cocktail with the LN and theirs was smoking so I got to see the full effect. While my husband thought the cherry coke was really good, it was a little too sweet for my taste. Décor is really nice. They have some remnants leftover from the old Lola restaurant décor but added some nice pieces to reflect an upscale Tex-Mex atmosphere. Ambience seems perfect for happy hour.
