Ok so 5⁄5 for décor but taste? Nah. This place just doesn’t make good pastries. We got the strawberry cake, Napoleon, and fruit tart. Strawberry cake: The cream(was it buttercream?) was much too thick; I thought I was eating a sweet block of butter that just came out of the packaging 10 minutes ago. The actual cake was eh too. Napoleon: yes I understand that napoleons are notoriously hard to cut, but this? The millefuille was soggy, so it completely resisted cutting. The cream for this one was definitely better than that of the strawberry cake: flavor was good, but again, the texture was off. Fruit tart: I found the crust to be too buttery and heavy. Tasted store bought. But everything else was ok.

Excellent bakery and one of the few which makes fresh macaroons. Also nice place to get some work done while enjoying a croissant.

I can’t say enough good things about this sweet bakery. I showed up with my mom around 10AM and was so happy to find that they have a(pretty large and free) parking lot of their own. The interior is extremely fun and comfortable– with couches and tables of various sizes. I ordered the customizable breakfast sandwich where you can choose the bread(croissant or baguette), meat(bacon, sausage, or ham), the vegetable(spinach, tomato, or mixed veggies) and the cheese(lots of choices here). It was extremely filling and tasty. I also ordered a latte made with almond milk and it was THE best latte I’ve had in ages. The espresso was really smooth. Ordered a lemon and raspberry tart with it and it was good. Very pretty. It does have more merengue than it has lemon filling which, if you prefer that, isn’t bad. I got a lavender macaron and raspberry macaron to go. Lavender was great. Raspberry was a little too sweet but good. My mom ordered the key lime tart and it was good. The staff was also really friendly. Great experience!

Came here for carryout pastry or catching up with friends a bunch of times and really love it. My favorite pasty is the blueberry muffin. It’s the best blueberry muffin in this area, I believe. It is very very tasty! My second favorite is the almond croissant. It’s my friend’s favorite. I also had chocolate croissant, cinnamon muffin, tea, coffee, savory pan Perdue, some other small pastries before, they are good but not my favorite. They get pretty crowded and the line was really long in most weekend afternoons. You got to come earlier if you want to have almond croissant!

Amelie’s is one of my favorite places to go in Charlotte. I usually go to the NoDa location because it is open 24 hours and it never disappoints. This Amelie’s in Atlanta is just as good as the one in Charlotte! The vibe inside is great and has all the eclectic furnishings Amelie’s usually has. It also has absolutely bomb food and pastries. I had the strawberry-almond-goat cheese salad with salmon and it was SOGOOD! I also had a fruit tart and it was fantastic as well. I definitely recommend Amelie’s, and you’ve gotta come try it out for yourself.

I was in Paris earlier this week so I decided to give it a try since I wanted a croissant. It was light and flaky, and the waitress offered jam with my requested butter. The atmosphere is laid back and funky, just what I expected. I’ll come back when I’m in the area.

I loved my sandwich baguette so much I ordered a baguette to eat for dessert. Which I ate after my «regular» dessert. I already know I’ll do the same thing next time — order a sandwich baguette and then a baguette for dessert. My mouth is watering right now. Cute space. Artsy. Loved all the décor. So do all the students. A sea of laptops. They are camped out, sometimes one per table. So it can be hard to find an available table esp. during busy meal times. Lines can be long too. But the food is definitely worth it. Everything is very good — they have breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, coffee. And prices are reasonable too. Staff is very friendly. Parking in the back — not a whole lot. I got the 2nd to last spot. If you’re getting the combo meal, get the full sandwich — it’s just $ 1 more. I was mad at myself for not catching that — not my smart friends, they all ordered the full sandwich + soup combo. $ 6.29 — sandwich only $ 7.29 — ½ sandwich + soup or salad or side $ 8.29 — full sandwich + soup or salad or side SEEDEDROASTBEEFSANDWICH — $ 7.29 for ½ sandwich + soup My sandwich was so good. Roast beef, horseradish, mixed seeds and mozzarella on a buttered crusty baguette. I wish I ordered the full sandwich. Actually I think I could’ve eaten two, haha. TURKEY&BRIESANDWICH — $ 6.29 for whole sandwich Friends hyped it up so I was kinda disappointed b/c it tasted plain esp. compared to all the flavors of the Seeded Roasted Beef. Turkey, brie and a berry compote(the highlight) on crusty baguette. TOMATOCRABSOUP The reviews raved about this soup so I had to order it. Yum tomato cream bisque w/slivers of crab. SALTEDCARAMELBROWNIE — $ 2.29 The reviews also raved about this. The cashier said it was the most popular dessert. Wow it was incredible. Tasted like a creamy toffee brittle on top and I couldn’t quite tell what kind of brownie it was but OMG it was so good. I’d get this again. DOUBLE-BAKEDALMONDCROISSANT — $ 3.99 I figured I should get a dessert croissant since the reviews raved about the croissants and my sandwich was on a baguette. My cashier said this was her favorite dessert. It was good but a little dry. I’m a huge fan of all things almond so I still enjoyed it. ¼ BAGUETTE W/BUTTER — $ 1.25 Ordered it sliced and toasted. It arrived perfect. Like it couldn’t be any more perfect. My new church is located nearby — this may become my regular breakfast stop beforehand :) Overall love this place. Next time I’d like to try their Spinach, Leek & Asparagus Soup — one of my friends ordered this soup and tried her husband’s Tomato Crab. She loved her soup more. And of course I’d like to try their other desserts too.

Get the tarragon grapefruit macaroon. The chocolate éclair is not as good as the vanilla. The twice baked almond croissant is to die for. This is however the third week in a row we have been here and I wanted to try the terrain grapefruit mint soda and the third week they have been out of Perrier. Drip coffee has one free refill that someone had to tell me about in my party because I didn’t know. And I always forget they have whole milk and almond milk but no skim.

This is our new favorite place for dessert and coffee! My husband and I came here after a horrible dinner at Raku with almost empty stomachs. He ordered a sandwich, which he liked a lot. We shared a Napoleon cake together, which was fantastic. It was neither too sweet nor too dense. The cream filling between puff layers was like a light version of ice cream. We really liked the cake. We also ordered a macaron, which was a little bit too sweet for my taste. But, macarons are supposed to be very sweet, right? The decors here really helped in creating a comfy atmosphere. I would like to come back in the future for a cup of nice coffee and spend a cosy afternoon with my dear textbooks(and probably my husband as well).

Walked in right at 8p, hoping to purchase a dessert for our after date night dinner sweet tooth — not knowing it was closing time. Still full of patrons. Instead of offering us the option to make a purchase to go, we were just told that they were closed. Not sure we will be back. With that being said, I cannot actually review their offerings. However, this experience was not a positive one for us.

Came here after dining at the next door Thumb’s Up, I wish found this gem earlier. Really roomy and nice decored café! The presentation of dessert selection is very pretty and quite intriguing. I bought the famous twice baked croissant and give it a try of the Opera(love anything with dark chocolate), but I heard the coffee here is not that impressive so I decide to save my coffee quota to the Octane 3 min drive away. Twice baked croissant: 4 stars, it is really good, but I found the better one from Cakes&Ale group(with a bit higher price tho) Opera: 4 stars, the cream part is quite unique and taste good, it is not that sweet but a bit oily for me(any suggestions from other Unilocalers that where I can find other good Opera?) I guess most customers come here for a few hours study/work/meeting — this is the right spot. I can see myself coming back to enjoy the chic NOLA style décor and dynamic vibe.

I’m a huge fan of Amelies! I first heard about Amelies from a from who told me about this café that is open 24⁄7. I’m sorry to disappoint, Amelie’s here in Atlanta is not open 24⁄7(their flagship store in Charlotte, NC, is, though), but their hours are sufficient. Being so close to Georgia Tech’s campus, I was a bit apprehensive that it would be overcrowded by Tech students. At times, it can be(like before finals), but most of the time, it isn’t. There’s plenty of seating, whether you want a smaller more private table or a larger, more social couch, you have your choice. The food here is great! It’s a café, so normal stuff like sandwiches and soups, but their pastries are the bee’s knees. Their croissants are light and fluffy. If you get the breakfast sandwich, I highly recommend getting it on a croissant. I regularly get the ham and gruyère breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The coffee here is normal. It typically get a latte, and in the morning, it’s a perfect small breakfast when paired with one of their pastries. The apple turnover is also one of my favorite.(if you get it, ask them to warm it up for you). The bathrooms here are clean and tidy. And there is plenty of parking in the back, an entrance in the back as well. They do a pretty good job of supplying outlets to most tables, if you need to power up your laptop /charge your phone. Overall, I’m a big fan of Amelies! I come here at least once a week, so do check it out if you’re in the area!

I hadn’t heard about this place until I saw it on DoorDash when we were looking for a place for breakfast delivery. It was reasonably priced, all the menu items looked amazing, and it had a solid four stars on Unilocal. We got: –Breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon, egg, and asiago –Three different tartines(open faced sandwiches): spinach & asiago, wild mushroom, and tomato basil pesto & mozzerella –Salted caramel macaroon We also ordered the Pâté de Campagne, cinnamon ganache macaroon, and honey buttercream macaroon, but later found out they were out, which may mean those are pretty popular. And maybe a sign from God that two people didn’t need enough food to feed a family of four. Breakfast sandwich was pretty solid but a little greasier than I liked. All the tartines were on point – my favorite was the spinach & asiago, followed by the wild mushroom. Probably the BEST part of the meal, though, was the macaroon. It’s about twice the typical macaroon size and it was absolutely incredible. I regretted not ordering more than just one, even though we were pretty stuffed by that point anyway. Solid place for sandwiches and bakery items. I would definitely re-order or visit the physical store again soon!

How have I never rated this place? In my perpetual quest for on-the-road«offices» with good drinks, cool eats, and plentiful wifi, I’ve found Amelie’s to be an excellent place to park and get some work done, or have a quick meeting. Amelie’s is headquartered in Charlotte, NC. This is the only Atlanta location so far(that I know of). They serve up freshly made sweet and savory treats(macarons, flavored croissants, petit-fours, quiches, and other breakfast/lunch/dinner options…). You’ll find the big display cabinet at the counter to be full of all sorts of tempting things. Plus they seem to do their drinks right. My needs in this regard are generally very simple. Give me a latte and a glass of water, and I’m happy. Amelie’s is comfortable. Whimsically decorated. Well lit. Easy to get to, and with generally easy parking. The people behind the counter are friendly, and the clientele is usually quiet yet abuzz with activity. I’m happily going back. Holler if you’re coming with.

Plentiful seating and a strong wi-fi signal made this a cozy place to linger on a dreary day. I recently camped out at a table in the corner for a few hours to get some work done. Even though the café was teeming with Georgia Tech students with laptops I had no trouble securing an outlet. As I typed away, I noticed that the tunes were mellow without being distracting – lots of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Adele and John Mayer. I started with a Pain au Chocolat and a mug of Hot Chocolate. The pastry was big and buttery with a satisfying chocolate center. The beverage also had a deep cocoa flavor. Later, I tried the soup of the day: Spinach, Asparagus and Leek. The trio of vegetables was gluten free but the flavor was weak and watery. Which is strange because it looked like a cream based soup. Next time I’ll get something from their standing menu instead. Overall, the feel of the café outweighed any flavor concerns so I can certainly see myself returning to Amelie’s.

Amelie is possibly one of the cutest cafes I’ve ever been to. For the ambiance and décor, I’d give them 5 stars. As for the drinks, I only had tea from a bag, so I can’t say much. Tom N. said his coffee was good, but I unfortunately forgot what he ordered. An update after another visit is probably in order… Amelie is spacious with many tables, making it a great place for studying or catching up with friends. It’s also a wonderful retreat if you’re looking to escape everyday life for a bit, as it’s cozy and adorned with many whimsical touches – bird cages, gilded frames, fun plays on famous art(Mona Lisa wearing sunglasses), and more. Where we’re from, coffee shops with personality are still few and rare so Amelie is quite refreshing. The staff are nice though not gushingly sweet. Still better than indifferent or downright rude. Pssss, you can also rent rooms at this location for special events, even weddings. Check out their website for more info.

A hole in the wall, and might I add what a fabulous hole. On Marietta street hidden by all the traffic and noise, this Parisian café is an easy miss but I’m glad I finally tried it. The ambiance is more of a café but with plenty of seating. The décor is very French bohemian and the ambiance is laid back. The counter is graced by bountiful pastries and desserts but they do offer a wide variety of savory items. I highly recommend the sweet potato soup. It’s just too delicious. The turkey Bree sandwich was nice but goes better with the soup. Without the soup it lacks a little flavor. So in other words do by all means try the amazing bisque. The staff is friendly but don’t expect a sit down restaurant service. Think of it as more of a nicer café. With free wifi and cozy fireplace seating you can spend quite some time there, hanging out with friends or just reading a book. As for desserts, I highly recommend the double baked almond croissant and the hazelnut éclair. Trust me your sweet tooth will be very happy.

Amelies is number two on Atlanta Eaters essential coffee shops so I decided to check it out today. I really enjoyed it! I was picturing a really small place but it’s huge. Good amount of parking in the back too. I had a chai latte, which was pretty good, but I didn’t have a pastry. I kind of regret that now since I’ve heard great things. There weren’t a ton of outlets either but it wasn’t crowded so I locked one down pretty easily.

Pretty nice little café situated in the industrial area of Atlanta. QUIRKYVIBES. As you walk in, you notice lots of different chandeliers, varying couches, chairs, tables. Really, no two items are the same. In my personal opinion, it was kind of a thrift shop feel but nice at the same time as things were very well picked out. PTDECAMPAGNE — I enjoyed the pâté sandwich. Great bread, large size and very flavorful. I loved it. At the second half later in the day while canoeing down chattahochee(it tasted even better after two bottles of Cava). DRYMACAROONS — now this I would not recommend. They are the biggest macaroons I’ve ever seen and tasted completely dry, as if they are not fresh. Perhaps it’s due to the size and the fact that the cream did not absorb. OVERLYSWEETAPRICOTPASTRY — well, it wasn’t that great again. They dumped enough sugar to attract and kill a swarm of diabetic ants. ATTENTIVE. The staff was great.

Not impressed. All of the pastries looked old and the one we got(the cream cheese tart) was not very good. Tasted old, dry, and slightly sour. My husband’s mocha was watery and the butter cookie that came with was stale. I did, however, enjoy my lavender steamer. It was a little sweeter than I wanted, but still pretty good
