The upstairs is a decent study room. The wifi is ok bu the signal can be a little spotty. I wouldn’t sit outside – lots of cigarette smoke and once a group of us was accosted by a creepy homeless person. Not wild about their products – too sugary.

I loved this Sbux during my undergrad years at UGA. I have to give it a 5⁄5 since I came here almost weekly for years. I actually still come by here when I visit Athens. Why? It’s super close to my Hotel… and very convenient even when going to campus. Oh and I had awesome baristas here. :D Probably the best place to go if you’re on campus and want a quick drink. This Sbux is maybe a 3 mins walk from campus. So… if you’re studying at the Law Library and have a Sbux craving(like I did multiple times, haha), this Sbux is the best bet. I liked Jittery Joes and all — but I’m a Sbux girl. As for parking — just park on the streets of DT and walk on over. They have some indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to people watch. And… to really enjoy the Athens environment :)

I frequent this location during my class break when I am in Meigs Hall on UGA Campus. Pretty good dark roast coffee. Good outside seating for people watching as well.

The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable when my friend and I made a stop here last night for some tea. This place was open until midnight so it was great for a place to hangout and talk. My 2nd time visiting here since the college days and I was able to wander upstairs. The upstairs proved to be more relaxing with much more seating options. The vibe upstairs was more for the quiet studying, but it was a Saturday night… There was only one guy up there who seemed like he was studying. The rest of the folks there seemed to be coupled off or enjoying something nice with a friend. The Oprah chai tea was pretty creamy and had a nice flavor to it(sweet with a cinnamon hint?). My friend had the tea, and the baristas said Teavana was doing a tea overthrow or switch – something like that – so the usual flavors weren’t all there. Ask and they can recommend something similar or popular. This location is conveniently located across from north campus, diagonally across from the Arch. It is at the corner across from Five Guys off of Broad Street. You can park at UGA’s parking lots and decks since most aren’t reinforced after hours. If the gates are up, you can park there.

Starbucks is a quaint little coffee shop in downtown Athens where students can go to relax or study in between classes. Café chains like Jittery Joes are fine every now and then, but if you’re truly searching for an authentic coffee shop experience, look no further than Starbucks. The baristas here are wonderful and so is the atmosphere. One thing I will mention is that the cup sizes are a bit confusing at first. Instead of the traditional small, medium, and large sizes offered by other coffee retailers, Starbucks serves their drinks in tall(small), grande, and venti cups. That’s really the only downside though. This is a great local coffee shop and I highly recommend stopping by if you haven’t already!

This is a well placed Starbucks in downtown Athens. I enjoyed everything about this place except for the seating downstairs(very minimal table space/seating; if you’re studying this is not an ideal area so upstairs or outside would be nicer) and the wifi. The wifi was extremely spotty and made it difficult for me to get any work done thus making my trip out to this Starbucks worthless besides the coffee. I sat outside since the upstairs was already crowded. Outside was fine until a hoard of homeless people showed and acted obnoxious with the staff doing anything about it. Out of the 5 – 7 homeless people 1 person bought a drink and I guess that allows them to stay. Disclaimer:I don’t have an issue particularly with homeless people if it was«homeful» people being overly obnoxious I would also complain.

Great place to go for a quick break between classes and grab some caffeine. Usually crowded and a bit annoying getting a weekly-changing code to unlock the bathroom doors. Great service and very accurate. Upstairs is nice to study at and outside tables are great to catch up with a friend.

I really like Starbucks and this location is actually quite nice — small but is 2-stories and has plenty of places to sit. Also, staff is usually friendly enough and it’s nice to stop by here while wandering the downtown streets. Also, it’s close enough to campus that you can easily walk back if you need to. Yes, I know we’re supposed to support all the local coffee shops, but yes, I confesssssss Starbucks will always be welcome in my book.

It was always just a passing thought that Starbucks at the corner of College and Broad actually has an upstairs where you can sit down and study at. I decided to take take advantage of it today, and wow, I think I’ve found a new cubby hole. It’s better than ERC in terms of study potential– don’t get me wrong, Expresso Royale has the advantage of being a smaller and therefore more locally favored business, but it’s very crowded, loud, an very infortunately, their coffee really does taste like shit. Yes, ERC, I love you, but you’re coffee tastes like shit. and not just like«standard feces», but more like the«stale kind/baking in the humid Georgia heat for a couple of days and is on the cusp on turning white» kind of shit. Kudos to your pastries though. keep your head up gurl, you’ll get it right eventually. Anyway, got to say I’m a fan of Starbucks now. It sucks that you have to have an account with Verizon Wireless to take advantage of their wifi, but I picked up UGA’s wireless signal, for which I do have an account with. And Starbucks isn’t all corporate evil– they are sponsoring the local AIDS Walk as well as a hand-full of other local charities. And the upstairs study room is actually quiet, just in case I want to stop bumming around on the internet and get some work done.
