AMAZING VEGAN OPTIONS! The food was absolutely incredible, the vegan menu was expansive, and the service was fast. I will be frequenting this place! Only negative thing I could ever say is I wish they had vegan cheese, but hopefully someday.

Food is OK, drinks and selection are pretty standard. The real drawback to this place is having to wait on line to get drinks and order food. When the bar is busy it’s kinda a pain.

HiLo is my bar of choice to continue the slow slide into Athens alcoholism. Salchipapas!

The service can vary wildly depending on which bartender you get, but this is my go-​to when I want to chill out. Usually very chill atmosphere, not rowdy or loud. Great bottled selection and nice rotating draughts. Their house cocktails are wonderful and reasonably priced. I love their food (only one bad experience ordering cheese fries where the cheese wasn’t melted on top — just didn’t order those anymore and have not been disappointed since). The specialty hot dogs, the salad, and the Reuben are all great, and the fries are addictive. The chocolate chip cookies are great too. I really love how there are so many vegetarian/​vegan options. I hope Hi-​Lo is around forever.

I really enjoy being at this bar. They have a great selection of bottled beers and lots of awesome local beers on tap. They also keep Original Sin cider on tap and have a great cocktail menu. My favorite cocktail is the Clementine.
Hi-​Lo serves food as well and has an old school pub feel in that people line up at the bar to order drinks and food instead of just squeezing in where they can and wagging money until a bartender notices them (you can do that too though). One of the owners is vegetarian, so there is a vegetarian or vegan option for just about every item on the menu. The Oyster mushroom Po’Boy is probably my favorite vegan menu item — that thing is a giant beast of a sandwich that I’ve never been able to eat with my hands. Oh yeah, it tastes great too.
My favorite meat entrée is that damn 3-​way chili! I kinda hate how much I love it because I haven’t tried much else on the menu! It’s basically spaghetti topped with Cincinnati chili and a MOUNTAIN of cheese. I never though I’d say that I «love» chili that’s got cinnamon and chocolate in it, but I do. I love that chili. I refuse to beg for a recipe because I don’t trust myself to make it as good as Katie does. My god. That chili. My 2^nd favorite meat entrée is the salchipapas, which is a sliced hot dog deep fried with french fries, served with chopped onions and either cilantro or parsley (can’t remember at the moment). It’s basically this drunk girl’s dream. Also good — a damn corn dog. Hand dipped, $ 3, can’t beat that.
This place was long overdue in Normaltown, which really needed a place to get real food late at night. You can tell the place was wanted as well — it’s practically always full of humans on most nights, sometimes it can be a pain to be in there if space gets too tight. Hi-​Lo earned and deserves all of it’s success and I love going there. Karaōke is always fun, and the Oscar party was a blast and should be a yearly event — there was trivia and tuxedos! I had an awesome time getting drunk at the bar alone and heckling the tv while getting every question wrong. No joke, I have a blast here.

Simple but very effective bar food with hotdogs and serious French fries a must. The price is right as well.

Stopped in for a drink after working on a Saturday. Drink was wonderful, didn’t have food but was not fully impressed with menu. I have heard great things when a band is there.

I love this place! Yummy late night and brunch food! Staff is always very attentive and cool and remembers my orders when I come in. Trivia is really fun too.

A fun and funky bar and grill in Normaltown, Athens. They had a great beer selection, a varied menu and lots of fun games available for play. We weren’t here to play though, we were here to eat and drink and that we did!
We ordered the fried cheese appetizer, some fish and chips, a corndog and a couple of local brews. Everything was super tasty and I would love to go back and try more of the menu!

A group of friends and I sat at Hi-​Lo for brunch and lunch on one Sunday. We drank our fill in delicious beers and cocktails and ate some delicious dishes. Myself and 3 other friends were vegan and were delighted to have some tasty options. The vegan hash was quite good and the polenta was a nice addition. Once we had brunch we decided to just hang out, drink, and wait for the lunch menu to come in to effect.
Once lunch came around I ordered a vegan chili coney, vegan caramel corn, and my boyfriend ordered the fries with veggie dogs, jalapenos and onions. All of it was great bar food. Other vegans at the table were delighted to find out that they could do a vegan corn dog.

Friendly staff, lots of beers on tap, DELICIOUS corn dogs. Karaōke on wednesdays is rad
