Einstein Bros Bagels

The bagels here are fine, neither better nor worse than any of the other bagel places in town. The reason for this low rating is the slow service. I’m not sure if the restaurant is understaffed or if the employees are just not being managed properly, but placing an order and then waiting for it to be filled takes far longer than it seemingly should. To their credit, the employees are generally helpful and nice, but there just seems to be something wrong if the service is as slow as it is.

The flavored coffee is good. But be prepared to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get a bagel with cream cheese. 15 minutes isn’t uncommon. If there is line, forget it and head over to Jittery Joes or Starbucks just a few doors down.
On the positive side, there seems to be plenty of seating.

Pretty slow service, maybe understaffed? nice environment, some nice seating with electricity sockets to set up a laptop and write a novel.
The turkey bacon avocado sandwich was pretty awesome.

I didn’t have the slow service of some other people, just not terribly impressed with the product. The bagels are ok, but their lunch sandwiches are tiny – cheap yes but still about double the price they should be for what you get. Seems like it could be an ok place to study though.

Worst and SLOWEST service I have had in a long time. Waited over 45 minutes today for two bagels with cream cheese.

The bagels are good but this is the worst run Einsteins I’ve ever seen. They have 5 or more workers at a time and it still takes over 10 minutes to get your order. Way too slow for my taste, but it does have a nice set up and is fairly clean. Just wish it was faster

Horrible service. I waited 25 minutes for a toasted bagel with cream cheese AND they got it wrong. The lady in front of my waited the same for a pastry they just had to pull out of the tray.

Never have any bagel selection. Called at 11:30 on St. Patrick’s Day and (as they usually have green bagels) they were out since 10. What a disappointment. I love Einstein bagels, I used to have one right by my house in metro Atlanta. You would think this Einstein would try to be amazing since they have such stiff competition in Athens with a Starbucks 3 doors down and a local bagel shop 3 minutes walk away.
Very disappointed in Einstein and the lack of bagel selection. If you ever try and eat there after about 11:30, be prepared to get the bagel flavors that no one else wanted. Also, the employees are very dry and inefficient at their jobs. No personality, no humor, and no rush to get you your bagels or even ring you up the correct order. The more I think about it, the more suspicious I am that the previous reviewer who gave 5 stars is an employee/​manager as its his only review and seems to think this place walks on water!
Overall, I would recommend the numerous other breakfast establishments in the near vicinity, including locally run establishments. Einstein, get your stuff together soon or you will be just another flash in the Athens restaurant pan!

Just opened and really needed in Athens!!! The best bagels in the country!!! Theeeeee most comfortable restaurant on Broad Street! I strongly recommend you try the Lox and Bagel!!!
